Chapter 15

“What the Fu*k is he doing there!” My eyes dilated and all the surprise and excitement I had in my heart disappeared.

I looked around the hall and everyone was silent as if they had been enchanted by the melodious voice coming from the stage and I turned my eyes to Katherine, the proud Katherine who was not so excited to come to this show in the first place and she had the same look like everyone in the show and I can’t help but scoff.

They were all admiring that mean Jerk, but what surprises me more was that someone as mean as Robin Hiesten has this awesome voice and could sing, of a truth, his voice was enchanting but, I was too angry at what he did to me that I just can’t accept his song.

“Wow, it’s Robin,” Clara exclaimed and I turned my eyes to look at her and there was a sparkle in her eyes and I could hear other ladies saying almost the same thing Kate had said, they were all admiring Robin and I had to roll my eyes and watch the show.

The crowd seemed to be enjoying the show as everyone was shaking their heads. I looked at Robin as he played the guitar and truly he was amazing. The way he handled it and the tone that he played gave me a different vibe and I must admit, he was awesome while playing the guitar and singing.

He was also smiling as he sang and I don’t understand why my heart felt sour all of a sudden. He avoids me like a plague and never smiles at me. He never wants to talk to me and I look irritated in his eyes, but here he was giving the crowd a cute smile.

I wanted to stand up and scream to everyone here that he was a mean jerk and no one should be deceived by his smile or song, but I would only ridicule myself and I didn’t want to draw attention to myself either.

“Hey, Clara.” I heard Katherine call Clara’s attention and I listened to what she was about to ask. I just wanted to hear her final verdict. “Who is that guy, it seems he is new.”

“Yes, his name is Robin Hiesten. He came back from the States a few days ago and joined the school recently, why?” Clara asked Katherine.

I really felt jealous right now, Robin and I came to this school together and everyone knows his name, plus he is singing on stage and pulling crowds, but here I am, no one knows my name and I am not even close to joining a practice group in school nor thinking of climbing up a stage.

“Nothing, I just wanted to know,” Katherine turned her eyes to the stage again and I heard her mutter Robin’s name and I could already tell she was impressed by his song and appearance.

The show came to an end and everyone was cheering for him as he bows and flashed them his well-arranged white teeth before the stage light went off.

If Kate was here she would have admired him more and I would have listened to her crush talks. I smiled and looked down at my hands as I remembered Kate had asked me to take a video of the show.

“Aish!” I scratched the back of my hair, Kate wouldn’t be happy with me, I had been so surprised that I forgot about it.

I got up immediately to search for who I would take the video from and just in time I saw Clara putting her phone in her bag. “Please excuse me,” I called out and Clara looked at me.

“How may I help you?” She asked in what seemed like a calm voice, she was Hinn’s cousin after all so she might be nice just like her cousin.

“Can you please share with me the video you took of the show?” I asked kindly but the next thing that came out of Clara’s lips was something I didn’t expect.

Clara scoffed. “Don’t you have a smartphone?” She asked coldly and I looked up at her face. She looked like a gentle soul, but behind that was someone Kate had told me about. “You should have taken it yourself.”

I pressed my lips together. Truly everyone in this school has the same rude personality as Robin and Katherine, apart from Kate and Hinn Carlos.

“I am sorry, I forgot to do that.” I apologize, it wasn’t as if I did anything wrong, I was only wanting to take this video because of Kate.

“Okay, just this once,” She brought out her phone and I was happy that she wasn’t so mean. “But, know that Robin is mine!” She stretched the last word and I looked at her as she sent the video to me and left.

I scoffed and shook my head as there is nothing special in Robin to make all these ladies go gaga for him. I looked down at the video and I was glad that I still got it. I looked around the daily bar that had become less crowded now I knew I had to leave now, whereas it was already late.

I walked out of the daily bar and to my surprise I saw a crowd surrounding Robin and Hinn Carlos and I scoffed. “He is not even a celebrity.” I paused because right now I sounded like Clara when she was taking the money Hinn owes her.

I left the place and headed over to the bus stop to wait for the bus heading back to the mansion. I stayed there for over thirty minutes but no bus came and it was late. I glanced sideways and the place looked deserted and scary.

I got up from the bench where I sat. I had seen only private cars speed past there, there was no taxi and there was no bus, the weather was also getting cold and there was silence around me.

I heard footsteps and turned my head in the direction immediately. I figured out it was a lady walking at a fast pace so I hurried over to her. “Excuse me please.”

“Yes.” She stopped, turning her eyes to look at me.

“Are there no buses going this direction?” I pointed in the direction I was headed.

“The buses stop running by 9:00 in the evening.” She told me and my lips parted, this must be the reason I saw a lot of private cars at the daily bar. “Are you new here?” She asked me and I looked at her.

“Yes.” It looks like everyone knows about this other than me.

“You should find a place to spot for the night, it gets creeper around here at night and you are a lady, bye, then.” The lady walked away in a hurry without looking back.

I felt chills run down my spine as I looked around. I had seen Robin outside the daily bar when I left and I also noticed the car his mother gave us at the parking lot, but I am sure he must have left the bar by now.

I glance over my shoulder and turn to take a step further, maybe I would see help, but just then I spot Robin’s car riding through and a smile spreads through my lips.

“Hey, Robin, stop!” I called out as I waved my hands but he glanced my way with that cold gaze of his and sped off. “Hey!” I shouted and chased after the car. “Stop!” I shouted again, if he doesn’t stop I might be kidnapped or something bad might happen to me.

“Please stop!” I called out again, I was already out of breath, just at the moment I wanted to give up, I saw the car come to a halt and I exhaled sharply, breathing a sigh of relief.

I ran over to the car and he winds down the glass, gazing at me with those cold dark eyes that show how much he detests me.

“Pl-please can you give me a ride- can I…” I paused to catch my breath, just now I have run as I have never done before. “Can I tag along?’ I looked at him with pleading eyes.

He gazes at me as if he was contemplating letting me in or not and I prayed in my head that he doesn’t leave as he did that day, he can hate me as much as he wants and I would be fine with it, but he shouldn’t leave me here.

“Okay.” He responded simply and wind his glass up as I got into the passenger’s seat and put on my seat belt.

“Thank you,” I told him as he started the engine and drove off. “By the way,” I swallowed hard and turned to look at his face, he was not looking at me and his eyes were focused on the road. “You were awesome on stage, how did you know how to sing and play the guitar so well…” I asked with a smile on my face.

“40 decibels and you will be out of this car.” He said coldly and for a while, I couldn’t speak.

“What? You won’t leave me out here this late,” I know he was a mean jerk, but he should learn to know when not to be mean. “No buses and taxis are running through at this time and it gets creepier.” I try to give him reasons.

“That should be the reason you should shut your mouth.” He said indifferently and glared at me. “I don’t care about leaving you out here, you should only be glad that my mother is at home.” He finished and concentrated on the road.

I blinked, so the reason he had agreed to take me with him was because of his mother. If she wasn’t at home he would let me be all alone in this place, he was heartless.

I should hold my breath till we get home then I should act like a mouse and not say a word if I don’t want to spend the night alone out here. I looked out of the window and concentrated on the street lights, not willing to look at the face of that cold jerk any longer.
