Chapter 35

I had wanted her to leave but not with this condition, now I was worried sick, how was her father? Was he alright? Was he going to be alright? And my mother was not yet back, it was already late at night and I don’t think she would make it back home today.
The mansion suddenly felt so big, bigger than it is and quiet, it was no longer lively as it was when my mother and Ivana were here. I spaced around the balcony upstairs staring into the dead of the night, or the mansion was a bit far from some residence building. I had loved it this way, but now it is so quiet that I wish for the noise.
I had seen Ivana’s tears when my mother told her the news, it was quite disturbing. Has she stopped crying? I ran my hand through my hair. I needed to get her sad face off my head, but I couldn’t.
I took out my phone and scrolled through it, I didn’t have her number and now I wish I did, I was too worried that I had to call my mother instead. She didn’t pick up at first, but soon she returned the call.
“Hello, mom.”
“Hey, Robin.” My mother’s voice came out soft and I could tell from her voice that she was exhausted. It wasn't easy to drive that far in a day.
“Mom, have you arrived at the hospital?”
“Yes dear, also, I won’t be home tonight so make yourself a warm dinner and eat up.” Hearing her say this was obvious but still I know the accident must be a serious one.
“How is her father?” I asked,
“Right now we are waiting for the doctor's results, but he is still in a coma and not responsive.” I pressed my hand on my forehead when she told me this, it was damn serious.
I wanted to ask if Ivana was still crying, but I decided not to, I only told her she should get some rest, that all will be fine since the results are not yet out and with that I said goodnight.
I walked back into the mansion and to my room, I lay down on my bed as I idly watched the wall clock tick, there was no sleep in my eyes no matter how I tried to, if I closed my eyes I only saw the tears in Ivana’s eyes before she left.
My phone rang and I picked it up immediately thinking it was my mother, but it was Hinn Carlos. I answered the phone by putting it on my ear while glancing at my window. It was already morning and I didn’t know when I fell asleep last night and my head buzzed lightly.
“Asshole!” Hinn shouted from the other side of the line and I had to take my phone off my ear before he damaged my eardrum with his early morning curse.
When I couldn’t hear his loud voice anymore I put the phone back on my ear while gently sitting up from my bed. “I think it is too early for a curse Hinn, or don’t you think so?”
“Gosh! You made me get so angry at you to the point of punching you across the face without telling me your reasons for quitting at the dead point.” He continued and I figured out he had already heard about Ivana’s father.
Ivana called him and cried her heart out while telling him that her father was in a coma and she was too disoriented and needed a hug at this time. I scoffed, she was so happy when I told her that Hinn didn’t love Katherine, this means she was going to act all soft with him and make him take her back again, how foolish.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I pretended as I poured myself a glass of water, taking a large sip and putting the glass down as I made my way downstairs.
“Oh man! I feel like giving you a bigger punch.” Hinn said from the other side of the line utterly pissed. “Ivana’s father had an accident and all you could say is you don’t know what I am talking about, was that not why you cancelled on us?”
I thought as much! Ivana had truly acted stupid and ran her mouth to him, how wonderful, now she had gained the pity she wants.
“That got nothing to do with me canceling, whereas I didn’t know what reason my mother wanted to see her before now, so just give it a rest and speak to Ivana if you wish.” I was about to end the call but stopped when he said something that surprised me.
“I can’t reach Ivana on the phone, the person who told me about that was Kate, Ivana’s best friend and she too can’t reach her.” This means Hinn had not spoken to Ivana and I had it all wrong in my brain, I rubbed my hand against my forehead, I always ran into a conclusion quickly which isn’t good.
“Since you live in the same mansion as her, you may know her home address at the villa or the hospital her father is admitted to, could you please send it to me, I need to go see her.” Hinn said from the other side of the line and I clenched the can milk I was holding in anger.
Why? Why would he want to meet her? Do they think they need to show an affectionate relationship when her father is still in coma? Hinn cannot be kidding me right now.
I pressed my lips together, thinking of what to tell Hinn who was still waiting for my response on the other side of the line, he can’t be kidding me, he seriously can’t be.
“I’m I suppose to know that?” I asked in a harsh tone. “If you wish to know where she is at, then call her yourself and don’t let me know anything concerning her, I don’t even want to hear that name anymore.” I hung up without waiting for Hinn to say anything, then I sang into the dining chair.
They can both go act like lovey-dovey at the hospital, Ivana is stupid and so is Hinn, what comfort do he think Ivana would need now, the only thing that could make her happy isn’t an embrace but to see her father is awake and smiling like he did before.
What do they think love is? Kissing and hugging someone?
I scoffed, standing up from the chair since I no longer have an appetite for the food, I heard upstairs. Today was a weekend and I was sure it would be boring as fu*k!
