Chapter 28

I walked down the hallway with Hinn Carlos, Nicholas and Lukas and they were engaging in an argument that I was less interested in. It was about a lady Nicholas has finally fallen in love with, but we all know that this was just a love that will last for a day or two.

I was walking behind them when I saw Ivana coming this way, she was holding her handbag over her shoulder while shaking her head, her lips were moving and her brows were furrowed which meant one thing. She was ridiculing someone in her head.

I scoffed, she was exactly like someone who is mental and needs to be urgently treated.

“Ivana wait up,” Hinn called out and rushed over to her. I rolled my eyes, could these two people ever stop showing their affection to the whole school.

Ivana stopped and faced Hinn Carlos, her lips moved but I couldn’t hear what they were saying from where I stood. I was suddenly curious to know what Hinn had just told her since her expression lightened up and there were smiles again on her lips.

I noticed Nicholas and Lukas heading over to them and I saw a perfect opportunity to hear what Hinn was telling her, but when we approached them Ivana glanced at me and looked away almost immediately. She must have made up her mind as she had said last night that she wouldn’t mind if I acted cold to her and she doesn’t care anymore if I am her friend or not.

“Hinn, I better go now.” Ivana waved him goodbye and walked off without glancing back. I scoff, it was obvious that she is avoiding me.

“I apologized to her and she has decided to be friends with me,” Hinn said softly. “She said there was someone she was waiting for and she only sees me as her role model.” Hinn exhaled sharply. “At least I was the one who made her dream of singing, just like a fairy godmother.”

“You should say the fairy godfather Hinn.” Lukas corrected him and they all chuckled while I try to figure out who that dumb head was waiting for, if it wasn’t Hinn Carlos then who could it be?

“Hey Robin,” Hinn touched my shoulder, jerking me off my thoughts and I looked at him. I had been staring in the direction Ivana had left and had not realized that they were all staring at me with suspicious eyes. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”

“Sure.” I walked over to a distance with Hinn while the others waited for us around the corner, chit-chatting about a pretty female that had passed by. “What did you want to say to me?” I turned my attention back to Hinn who was staring at me intensely.

“Robin, I know you love Ivana Kimbuersy.”

“What?” Robin’s words came as a shock to me, he didn’t ask if I loved her, he stated that I love her, how hilarious.

“The way you look at her,” He went on to say. “And I am aware she stays at your place.” That came as a surprise to me, I had made sure to keep it away from the school and also made sure not to talk to her at school.

“How did you find out?” I asked curiously and Hinn leaned close to the pillar he stood and took out a cigarette, he lit up and stared at me.

“I traced Ivana home one day and I saw her go into the mansion you stay at, she didn’t come out until the next day and you both drove out in the same car which made me angry.”

“Hinn, you have gone crazy, watching a girl until dawn?” I shook my head, love doesn’t only make people weak, it makes them crazy too, just as it made my mother crazy.

“That is how much I love her.” Hinn pointed at himself and I realize Hinn was truly in love with Ivana, this wasn’t fake, it wasn’t something he was doing for fun, I had thought Hinn want to use her, he had peeked on Katherine a lot and I reckoned him like her, but loving Ivana to the extent of sleeping out in the cold was just too crazy.

“I love her so much and I was so angry when she went into your house, but then I discovered your house was where she stays.” Hinn threw down the cigarette and stepped on it. I clenched his fist before looking up at me again.

“I am letting her go because of you,” Hinn said softly. “So stop treating her like a shit Robin and start treating her right.”

I put my hand to my pocket and smirked, Hinn was talking gibberish right now. “You shouldn’t tell me how to treat her Hinn, I will have to treat her however I wish.” I straightened my shirt. “If we are done here then we better go practice. The guys are waiting.”

I turned and walked away. Love her my butt, she was the girl in my past so what? She was waiting for someone else then I should love her? I scoffed. How about I play some games with her and kick her off, that sounds fair.
