CHAPTER 18 : Secret's Out
Luna was already dozing off in car when they arrived at Clell’s home. Her head was leaning on the car door, her face so peaceful and calm, her lips looked so soft with a subtle tint of red. Clell took a moment to admire her beauty, but also fighting the urge to kiss her. He was just sitting there—at the driver’s seat—eyes locked on her face innocent face, while biting his lower lips. They stayed there for around thirty minutes as he also didn’t want to wake her up, but then it started to get really late so he needed to carry her inside.
Clell went out of the car and proceeded to Luna’s side, leaning a bit closer—careful not to stir her from her slumber—as he opened the door. He planted soft kisses on her forehead, extending his hand to reach and unbuckle her seatbelt.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered.
“I’m sorry for hurting you. I promise this time I’ll make it right.” Caressing her face with his hands.
“God! How I missed you so much. Holding your face like this and giving you kisses. I miss your smile. I miss everything about you and spending time with you.” Clell’s honest words and confession made Luna stir a little, which made Clell step back a little almost losing his balance. He checked on her first if she really did wake up before carrying her towards his home.
“That was a scary. I thought I wake her up.”
As soon as they reached in front of Clell’s doorstep, the huge ancient door opened with one of Clell’s servant greeting them inside.
“Good evening, young master.”
“Is the guest room ready?”
“I’m sorry, young master, but Miss Ayame decided to sleep over tonight. She’s taking the largest guest room that you ordered us to prepare.”
“That girl’s getting on my nerves.” He hissed. “Anyway, thank you! Can you tell the chef to cook some food for hangover, she might wake up soon. I’ll call you when I want it to be delivered in my room.”
“Right away, young master. Is she alright? Do you want me to prepare a hot bath for her?”
“Ah, yes. She’s just a bit drunk. I’ll call you later if she wants to take a bath. Thank you.”
“I’ll head over to kitchen now and tell the chef to cook the meal.”
When one of Clell’s servants left, Clell headed to his room. It was a bit challenging for him to move the blanket of his bed first as he was carrying Luna, but he didn’t want to call one of their servants again for help for it was already late and he wanted them to have a good night rest, too. So, even with a bit of struggle, he finally managed to lay Luna on the bed and cover her with his blanket.
It was already dawn when Luna woke up to a headache.
“Ugghhh.” Luna’s voice made Clell stir from his sleep and stood up right away to tend to her. He actually didn’t notice that he already fell asleep on the sofa in his room, the last thing he remembered was him reading some of his company emails.
“Are you okay?”
“Where am I?”
“Ah, yes,” he started off, putting one of his hand behind his head and rubbing it a little, “you’re in my house.”
“WHAT??!! Did something happen??”
“Nothing happened. I just brought you here because you didn’t want to go home.”
Luna wanted to get out of there, she didn’t want to meet him up like this. In fact, she didn’t want to meet him at all. She’s not ready to his face yet nor discuss the things between them. So, she stood up right away, but ended up lying down again because of her headache.
“Ouch..”
“You drank a lot last night.”
“How did you end up finding me?”
“You didn’t remember?” she just shrugged at this question in response.
“Well, to cut it simple and short, you called me.”
“I did?”
“Uhh, yes. You must’ve missed me.” He winked, trying to make the atmosphere light and stir her away from his quite peculiar room and ambiance, but Luna just rolled her eyes at him—trying to stay nonchalant and not to be swayed with his attempts to flirt. However, Clell didn’t stop there, he positioned himself beside her, closing the distance between them slowly—not dropping his gaze on her.
Luna suddenly felt numb from the pain on her head as she focused on trying to stay calm. “That’s not going to work on me, Clell Zion!” she exclaimed, but her actions said otherwise as she gulped just staring at him.
Clell still continued to tease, he leaned closer and closer to her, brushing his nose onto hers while saying, “Do you want me to…”
“……get you some food?” he smiled victorious upon seeing her blushed, knowing he still had an effect to Luna.
However, contrary to what Clell expected, Luna didn’t shy away. She teased him back instead. In Luna’s mind, she realized that in order to make move away is to agree to his question and also make a bold move that’ll stun him a bit.
“Yes, please.” She agreed with a soft voice while pouting her lips—an inch away to Clell’s lips—successfully making Clell lean back.
“Since when have you become so bold?” was the only words that came out of Clell’s mouth, and Luna just smirked at him.
“I’ll get you some food.”
Left alone in Clell’s room, Luna’s started wandering around and observing her surroundings. Clell’s room was so neat and quite minimalist in design. Then she started walking around, carefully looking at his things, making sure not to break anything, but the she started feeling pain on her head again and also feeling busy, good thing she was near the sofa so she lied down a bit and massaged her head with one hand. However, she saw a photo album again, and like what she did in Clell’s beach house, she took a peek once more.
Clell’s baby photos were so cute that she couldn’t help but smile while looking at it. She felt happy admiring his pictures until she reached another family photo. This time it wasn’t Clell that caught her attention, but Clell’s dad. The moment she flipped the page and saw the photo, her eyes immediately directed to Fenris. She stared at him for a long time, trying to remember who he was, and then it finally dawned her.
“His dad is Uncle Fenris? Clell is a werewolf?”
Her hands were basically shaking now as she reached out to her pocket and find her phone, but it wasn’t there. She tried to look for her purse, but she couldn’t find. Tears started falling from her eyes as she was panicking, trying to get out of there. Her vision started to become blurry because of her tears and the dizziness, however, that didn’t stop her from looking. She was moving circles inside his room until she finally found her purse.
Hastily, she called an uber to pick her up and good thing someone was nearby. So, as soon as the driver contacted her, telling her that he’s already at the gate, Luna stormed outside Clell’s bedroom, ignoring her headache and dizziness. All she was thinking was to get out of there that she didn’t mind looking back when she noticed that someone was watching her from behind.
