CHAPTER 26 : Jealousy and Hate

Not wanting to let Clell see her crying or run up to her to make her stay, Luna immediately called a cab. It didn’t take long for her ride to arrive and she, without looking back, went inside right away.
Before Clell could even succumb to his heartache and feel everything, his dad went to his room to remind him about the arranged marriage.
“Clell, are you awake?” Fenris asked while knocking at Clell’s door. Clell didn’t answer back and just covered his face with a pillow. So, Fenris decided to come instead.
“I saw a girl running from your bedroom. I know you are awake. What happened?”
“Nothing.”
“Is that the girl you always tell me about?”
“Yes.”
“What happened?”
“Dad, she—”
“She what?”
“She told me she doesn’t feel the same way.” Clell said to Fenris like a child seeking comfort from his parents. However, Fenris failed to notice that.
“You know what, son. That’s actually good news to me.” Clell just gave Fenris a questioning look, confused as to why his own father wanted him to be hurt and unloved. It didn’t take long for him to know the answers that he had been looking for Fenris continued and satiated him.
“Then you can do your duties for the pack without anything to worry about.” Fenris uttered, tapping Clell’s shoulder. Clell didn’t like every inch of his father’s words, in fact, it made him infuriated.
“I told you that I don’t want to get married to Ayame!”
“The engagement ceremony will be held this week, prepare yourself, Clell.” Fenris said sternly, hoisting himself up from Clell’s bed and dismissing Clell’s complaints. Clell just growled at him as he walked outside from Clell’s bedroom.
Clell didn’t have time to dwell on his broken for he had other matters to tend to. If he still wanted to be with Luna or win her back, he must stop his union with Ayame.
“Stupid arranged marriage! I need to find another way to put an end to this.”
He kept thinking about a plan, but his mind kept drawing him back to what happened to him and Luna earlier that day.
“Ughhhh! Focus, Clell! Focus!” He groaned.
“You can’t get back Luna if you don’t settle this first. You marrying Ayame is putting an end to all the possibilities of you and Luna.” He said to himself.
“What should I do?” were his words before transforming into his werewolf form to have a run in the woods, to clear his mind. When he got in the middle of the woods, he saw two foxes fighting for their ration of food. He stopped for a while and observed the two animals brawled. He stared at them as they fought to get the better part of the food, until one of them won and ran away with the food.
“I know what to do.” And hurriedly ran back to their house.
While Luna and Clell were undergoing in some emotional whirlwind and in utter distraught, Ayame was planning something to turn everything into her advantage.
She had been following Luna and Clell all day long and even lingered to watch while the two were fighting. When she saw Luna left Clell’s room, she also left and went back to the Summer Pack to report to his dad.
“Dad, they’re on the move.”
“They are already planning something to ignite another war with us. We need to execute Luna right away. In her apartment or anywhere. We have to do it now, dad, before it’s too late.”
“Patience, Ayame.”
“But, dad! We need to execute her as soon as possible. I know where she lives, we can go there.”
“I know, Ayame, but we can’t be too reckless. If Clell finds out, basing on the information that you’ve given me, he would be mad and it’ll cause havoc again.”
After realizing that Connall was right, Ayame fell silent for a while—she was still pissed, nonetheless—thinking what to do next. Her dad snapped her out of her trance.
“Ayame! Are you still listening to me?”
“Uhh. Yeah.” She replied cluelessly.
“Do you know what to do?”
Ayame silence gave Connall the impression that she wasn’t really listening to him, so he repeated the plan to her. “I need you to go to Luna’s apartment, watch over her. Make sure that Clell doesn’t visit her, if you are sure contact me right away. Do you understand?”
“Got it, dad.”
“Good.”
Ayame then walked out of her dad’s office with a huge grin on her face, not even feeling a tad bit remorse to what they were about to do to Luna as if Luna’s not related to her or to them at all, head and mind set straight to her tasks.
“I wish I was you.” She said while driving fast to Luna’s apartment.
“I hate how you get the attention of everyone when we were young and I was put on the sidelines.”
“I wish I have your long shiny silver hair.”
“I wish I have your face.”
“I wish my childhood was like yours.”
“I still remember how you used to laugh and how genuine your smile was every time I visit you to your room. I remember how excited you felt when I brushed your hair. It irked me so much.
“I wish they put importance to me before just like how they put importance to you.”
“I hate you, Luna. I hate you for being seemingly perfect.”
“You don’t know how happy I was when I saw you not being able to shift, because I finally saw a flaw in you. You don’t know how relieved I was when they told me that you ran away.”
“I hate how you seemed to be like an angel. You don’t know how much I’ve wished for you death before.”
“Everything was going fine when you’re gone, Luna. Why do you have to come back into my life?”
“I was already happy, Luna. I was happy when you’re gone. I was finally happy, why??!!” Ayame said as her tears cascaded from her eyes.
“I hate you! I hate you!” She screamed.
