CHAPTER 29 : The New Alpha

After knowing everything that Luna had been through, Clell was more determined not to allow the union of his pack and the Summer Pack and not to marry Ayame.
“How can they treat their own child like that?”
“And how can a sister be that cruel and vicious to her younger siblings?”
“I hate you all. I hate you for treating the girl I would give the world to like she’s nothing and unworthy.”
“I would give up everything just to have her, yet the people who had the chance to be with her couldn’t even take care of her.” Clell was furious as he was running back—in his wolf form—to their pack’s territory.
It didn’t take that long for him to reach his destination. The moment he entered his pack’s territory, he saw his father, Fenris, gathering the pack together to discuss something. He slowly walked closer to hear what the meeting was about.
“The rivalry and war we have with the Summer had been going on since all of these fresh soldiers were still young and innocent.” Fenris said, gesturing to the new soldiers of their pack.
“We can’t stay like this forever. We can’t compromise the lives, the safety, of our offsprings for they are the future of Winter Pack. They will the ones who will continue our traditions and make our pack alive as time passes by.” Fenris continued.
“A few days ago, Connall, the alpha of the Summer Pack, visited me. He had a proposal—a proposal which each and everyone of us can benefit from.” The area fell silent upon hearing this from Fenris, everyone was curious about Connall’s proposal. Some were nervous and fearful thinking if it was another that they subjected to fight with their lives.
“He wanted to make amends and have peace with us.” A sigh of relief can be heard by some of the members of the pack, although there were still some who were not in favor with the proposal. Fenris, however, saw Clell walking slowly towards the area where the meeting was being held.
“Oh, you are here. Good timing, Clell.” Fenris said as if he was announcing Clell’s arrival and inciting everyone that he will play a pivotal role for this proposal to happen. Everyone shifted their attention to Clell.
“The only condition that Connall said was for Clell to marry his daughter, Ayame.” Fenris’ words made Clell release a loud and angry growl, shocking everyone.
Without second thoughts, Clell, still in his wolf form, communicated with his dad adamantly opposing to his marriage with Ayame.
“I am not in favor of this wedding and I will never make peace with those vicious people.”
“Enough, Clell! When are you going to stop this nonsense?”
“How many times do I have to tell you that I won’t marry Ayame?”
“YOU WILL MARRY AYAME FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE ELSE!”
“We’re fine even if we don’t make peace with them. We’re fine before.”
“That doesn’t guarantee everyone’s safety in the long run!”
“Are you sure that everyone will be safe if we make peace? Are you sure that they don’t have any schemes under their sleeves? It’s time for this pack to have a new leader.”
“How dare you?”
Clell then plunged towards Fenris’ direction, preparing his claw to scratch Fenris, while Fenris shifted to his wolf form immediately out of instinct to protect himself. Nonetheless, Clell still had landed and pierced his claws into Fenris' nape. The other members of their pack transformed to their wolf form too and slowly moved backwards to give Fenris and Clell more space to fight. They felt the need to shift for the scenario laid in front of them had something to do with them being a wolf, tradition and their pack.
Fenris fought back and pierced his claws near Clell’s shoulder. Clell bit him in return, giving Fenris a deep wound, and plunged at him again pushing him a few distance away. Fenris stepped back a little, regaining his strength and composure as he was shocked at how powerful Clell had become. Fenris continued walking backwards and in circle, Clell on the other hand intently observing Fenris actions and predicting his next moves.
So, when Fenris suddenly sped up and ran towards Clell to strike an attack, it didn’t give Clell a scare for he calculated and expected that from Fenris already. Instead Clell positioned his stance, ready to accept Fenris attempt to attack him, in which made Fenris shocked and a bit confused. The moment Fenris reached halfway, Clell started running towards him also, both of them collided at the center. Clell made sure to bump his head on Fenris sides, the collision made Fenris lose his balance.
Fenris laid at the ground, gasping for air and wincing in pain. However, Clell was still not done and catapulted himself to Fenris, landing his claws on Fenris face and scraped it. Fenris winced in pain and whimpered.
Clell then released a loud growl which made everyone in the vicinity involuntarily bowed their heads as if acknowledging Clell’s dominance. Inadvertently, everyone accepted him as the new alpha, watching him as he moved at the center of everyone and howled again. However, the members of the pack howled with him this time, celebrating the new alpha of the pack.
“Tend him and aid his wounds.” Clell ordered some of the females of the pack. They followed him right away and helped Fenris who remained lying and curling on the ground.
“We will have a meeting again tomorrow. I will tell you what to do.” Clell told the soldiers of the pack.
With that, Clell then walked away and went home to tend to his wounds as well. When he reached home, he felt something was off. He went straight to his room and rummaged for his medicine kit.
“It will heal by tomorrow.” He muttered to himself.
However, when he was cleaning his wounds, he received a call from Alicia.
“Hello, Clell? Are you with Luna?” were Alicia’s words right away the moment Clell answered her call, sounding so worried and frantic.
“Uhm, no. Why? Did something happen?”
“I can’t contact her since yesterday. She’s not the type to forget about our plans, we planned to have a video call today, but she hasn’t contacted me. I’m worried.” Alicia’s voice was shaking. She was on the verge of crying.
“Hey. Hey. It’s alright. I’ll check up on her. Don’t worry.”
“Please.” Alicia said.
“Take a rest, Alicia. I’ll take it from here. Thank you for letting me know.” Clell reassured her, while thinking where Luna could be and worried at the same time, thinking that something bad might’ve happened to her.
When Alicia dropped the call, Clell didn’t finish cleaning his wounds and went out right away to look for Luna and find out if she’s safe.
