CHAPTER 30 : Missing
Clell was rushing down from his bedroom while dialing Luna’s phone number, but, Alas, even with a few dials and rings she still didn’t answer her phone.
“Luna, where are you?” Clell muttered frantically.
“Why won’t you answer you phone?”
“Please answer so that I know you’re safe.”
He tried calling her number once more, but still no answer which made him more and more frustrated and worried. He directly went inside his car as soon as he reached outside his house and revved up the engine right away.
“Where are you?” Clell said trying to think where to look for Luna first, tapping the driving wheel.
“I should check her apartment first. Yes!” and took the route to her apartment. It didn’t take long for him to arrive and ran towards her door, banging it.
“Luna, are you there?”
“Luna!”
“Luna open the door!”
The neighboring tenants started going out of their room, looking at Clell and telling him to shut up.
“Fix your problem with your girl in the morning. We are all trying to get some rest and sleep.” One guy said, but Clell chose to ignore their remarks and asked them about Luna instead.
“Have you seen the girl living here come home today?” Clell asked, but everyone just shrugged at him until one person finally said something.
“I think she had some visitors yesterday.”
“Can you remember what they look like?” Clell rushed to the couple who gave him some information.
“Ah, yeah. There was a girl, she’s like older than Luna a bit. She kind of has an almond hair and there was this old guy, they all have kind of the same facial features like they are related.” The girl said.
“And she let them in?”
“I mean, I guess, we just came home from a graveyard shift that time. It was too early; we saw them and then went inside our room.”
“Thank you.” Clell said, relieved that he finally had a clue on where Luna was, and went to give the couple a hug unconsciously. Clell then went to the landlord to ask for a spare key, hoping he will find something inside her apartment.
“Sorry, Sir. I couldn’t do that.”
“I’ll buy this whole building, if that is what it takes for you to give me the keys.” The landlord fell silent to Clell’s words.
“I don’t think you get the picture.” Clell continued. “The girl I love is missing, I’d buy this building to fire you from your job right now.”
“Ah. Sorry, Sir. Here’s the key.”
“If you could’ve just gave it sooner then there wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Sorry, Sir.”
Clell then grabbed the key from the landlord and went to Luna’s apartment, opened the door and looked for something inside. The place looked entirely intact as if no one had been in there. He went inside her room and everything was also in place.
“So, they didn’t take her by force?”
“That’s unlikely.”
“Or did they even take her?”
“I don’t know what’s going on.”
He then called Alicia to let her know and also ask her about Luna’s family.
“Hello?” Alicia answered.
“Hi, so I am in your apartment right now.”
“And is she there?”
“Unfortunately, no, but the place looks clean and intact as if she just went on vacation.”
“Are you sure? Because she would’ve told me if she went on a vacation.”
“Have you met her family before?”
“No, she had never spoken about her family and so I never bugged her about it too. I feel like she didn’t want to talk about it.”
“Oh, thank you!”
"Is there something up with her family?"
“Nothing. I get into you again when I find her.”
“Thank you, Clell. I’ll fly back right away to help you look for her.”
“No, really. Alicia, I got this.”
“I can’t just stay here when my best friend is missing.”
“Okay. Take care, Alicia.”
“You too, Clell. Thank you again.”
Clell went home to have a plan, he realized that he couldn’t go to the Summer Pack unprepared.
***
The day before Clell received a call from Alicia who was looking for Luna, Luna had visitors. It was Ayame, Connall and some of the members of the Summer Pack.
Luna was still sleeping that time because it was still early in the morning when someone knocked on her daughter with a familiar voice.
“Wakey wakey, my dear sister.” Someone said.
“Who is it?” she shouted back, still feeling sleepy.
“Who might it be? Hmmm. Open the door and come see who we are.”
“I don’t have time for scammers. Get a life.” Luna retorted.
“Open the door, Luna.” Another familiar voice spoke up, and it was enough for Luna to open her eyes and felt awake.
“No, it can’t be.” She whispered to herself, feeling nervous and scared.
Ayame and Connall tried to sound friendly in order not to draw some attention.
“I miss my daughter so much.” Connall said.
“Yes. This is our surprise for you my lovely sister.” Ayame continued.
“And some of our cousins are downstairs too waiting for you.” Ayame spoke again, thinking that Luna would escape from her window.
Upon hearing that, Luna went to open the door instead to also avoid more chaos and knowing that she didn’t have any escape at all, she decided to hear them out and what they are up to.
“It’s time to man up for myself. I don’t have to keep running from them anymore.” She said to herself and sighed to gain some courage.
“What are you doing here?” Luna said, sounding tough, as she opened the door.
“Oh, you won’t let us take a sit first?” Ayame replied. Luna just rolled her eyes at Ayame, but gestured them to take a sit.
“Thank you!” Ayame said, giving Luna a kiss on her cheeks, appearing to be so cheerful.
“So here’s the thing, Luna.” She continued while sitting down. “Me and Clell are bound to be married, we can’t let you ruin that.”
“I am not ruining anything.” she exclaimed.
“Oh, please. Drop the act. I know you are planning to get into Clell to have revenge at us and obliterate the Summer Pack.”
“What?”
“Stop lying, Luna.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, really. Then prove it to everyone in our pack.”
“Come with us.” Connall joined the conversation.
“For what??”
“The pack wants to know the truth. Let us observe you in a couple of days that you are not into something. Duh!” Ayame replied, rolling her eyes at the same time.
“NO!”
“Then we have no choice.”
“What do you mean?”
“Bring Clell and interrogate him.”
“Don’t hurt him!”
“So you do have feelings for him. Interesting. What else do we have to know?” Ayame said.
“Nothing!”
“Okay, I’ll give an order to the soldiers in our pack, or maybe we can just kill Clell it would be a good revenge after everything had done to the Summer Pack!” Connall threatened.
"I'll go with you, just don't hurt Clell! Please!"
