Chapter 16
Athena's Point of View
It took me for about a minute before I could respond to him. Arius is making me stunned. I never expected him to be like that.
“Don't worry about me.”
I uttered that made him nod his head. Arius left after my response, so I let out a sigh. I made sure that he already left before I continued what I wanted to do.
I narrowed my eyes through the surroundings and found that all the people living here had already left. They are already in their houses and I should start my mission now. I have so many things to do, and I couldn't let this evening pass without even doing anything.
“What are you still doing here?”
I froze in my direction when I heard a voice of a woman behind my back. A smirk formed in my lips when I could sense that she was the enemy. I wasn't sure if she's a vampire or what.
“How about you? What are you still doing here?”
I queried and tried to stay calmed. I also decided to look back and my teeth gritted when I recognized her face. I never expected to see her here. Destiny finds ways for our paths to cross.
“You!”
“Wanda,”
Yes, it's Wanda. The witch who almost took my life. The witch who accused me as the main reason why Arius neglected her. The witch who almost killed me. But, I will never allow her to win at this time. I will never allow her to escape from my hands. She must pay for what she did to me, and I swear that.
“Look who's here. You still had the guts to show your face after what happened to you, huh? Do you really want to die in my hands?”
She queried, which made me smirked. I even shook my head because of her. This witch really thought that I would allow her to degrade me. She really thought that I would allow her to win this time? Nah, she must be daydreaming.
"I should be the one to mention that, Wanda. You were the one who I should have asked you about because you messed with me. You accused me as one of the vampire's women and you'll regret that.” I replied, but Wanda doesn't seem to care about that.
She even had the courage to cross her arms in front of me. Wanda was telling me that I wouldn't be able to lose her. Well, she made it before but I will never allow her anymore.
“That deserved you for taking my man from me. You must be thankful because I didn't take your life away, but you can't escape from me anymore, Athena.” Wanda mumbled that made me grit my teeth in anger.
“As if I will allow you.”
Wanda laughed so hard after I mentioned those words. She didn't know what happened to her when I couldn't control myself anymore.
“You should be nervous now, Athena, because you can't do anything to lose me. I am more powerful compared to you. I am a witch and you are? A loser hunter. What a shame, tsk!”
My blood was boiling because of what she uttered. She's making fun of me and a woman like Wanda must be sent to hell. Wanda was too preoccupied about making fun of me that she didn't notice my hand was really moving. She wanted to tell me something, but I already pulled my weapon and shot her.
The arrow pierced her heart. She stopped from laughing after she felt the pain in her heart. Wanda even looked at her heart and she even pulled the arrow from her heart. She looked at me and smirked.
“This can't kill me.”
She replied shortly that made me smirked. Wanda doesn't know that her life will end in a moment.
“No, you're wrong, Wanda. It will be your end. A witch like you doesn't deserve to live after what you've done to me and the other victims. You downgrade me and look at you. Your end has come.”
Wanda wasn't able to spill a word because she had already faded away. She turned into ashes just like the vampire. My bow and my arrow took her life away and I felt relieved knowing that Wanda is now dead.
She deserves what happened to her. She was the reason why I was asleep for many days in the hands of Arius and now I already killed her. Wanda's wickedness already ended. There's no witch here anymore and I know when they knew what I did, they would plan an attack. However, I will never allow them win against me.
“Who deserved it then, Wanda?”
I queried before walking away. The night was still long. I could still do many things. I could hunt so many enemies and I won't go back without doing many things tonight.
The pain in my inner part was still there, but I could handle it. However, when I remember what we did, it made me smile. I shook my head and kept patrolling the place.
It took me almost an hour to patrol the town, but there's no hint of vampires or a witch anymore. Maybe vampires know that I was here, so they didn't attack here.
“I should go home then.”
I stated to myself after making sure that enemies are not here anymore. The moment that I turned my head toward the back when I was shocked by what I saw. Arius was standing there and he's even smiling.
“Are you ready to go home?”
He queried, which made me open my mouth widely in shock.
“What are you still doing here? I thought…”
“I didn't go home, Athena. I waited for you, but don't worry because I will do what you requested. I let you kill Wanda.”
A smirk formed on my lips. He's watching me earlier when I killed Wanda, and it's good to know that he didn't interrupt.
“That's great. You already know that I hated it when someone disturbed me with my mission.” I replied and started stepping my legs away.
“We should use my vampire speed to reach home faster.”
“I have legs, Arius.”
I replied, but he did something that almost blew me away.
