Chapter 19

Athena's Point of View

I witnessed so many events like this in the past and when I was doing my mission but this one really scared me. It's maybe because the one who is doing it was Arius. This is not the first time that he killed an enemy in front of me, but this is the first time that I witnessed how he kills by biting their necks.

This stunned me. However, I should get used to this. This isn't the last time that I would witness him killing the enemies. However, those men that he killed were thieves. They tried to steal something here. They tried to hurt me and I couldn't stop being amazed because of how Arius protected me from them.

He already killed all the enemies and I was still standing in my direction while watching him. Arius turned his head in my direction. He stared at me with his worried expression while there was still blood all over his face.

“Are you okay, Athena?”

He inquired, so I nodded my head responding to him. He went near me. Arius started to check me while my eyes were still staring at him. I couldn't prevent myself from staring at his handsome face. Despite how the blood covered his face, his attractive face still arose.

“I… I'm okay.”

I answered him while stuttering. Arius let out a sigh, and then he stared at me.

“No wonder why I wasn't comfortable earlier. There's something going on here and I never regretted that I went back. They tried to assault you and I would never forgive them.”

I bit my upper lips from what Arius told me. I could even feel how sincere he is when I look at him deep into his eyes. My heart also could feel that he's sincere about what he said to me.

“I'm just fine and there's nothing you must get worried about, Arius. They can't win against me.”

I replied, but he just sighed. Arius held my two hands, so I looked at him deep within his eyes.

“You are in my house, Athena. I will never allow something bad to happen to you. Whatever will happen, I will do everything I can to protect you. It doesn't matter to me if I had to sacrifice my life. All I want is your protection.”

I bent my head down when I heard those words from him. However, Arius lifted my chin, and then he took my lips. I could feel my body reacting when his lips parted to mine.

I don't even care if he tastes blood because there's no blood anymore when he kisses me. Furthermore, I wrap my hands around his neck while I was answering the kiss that he's giving to me.

“Thank you, Arius and trust me… I can protect myself. As of now, we have to do something to keep their bodies.”

I responded to him the moment that Arius stopped kissing me. He just smiled and pressed my face.

“You settled down and let me take good care of everything here.”

Arius moved after he uttered those words at me. I just do what he tells me. Arius used his vampire speed to take those dead bodies of the thieves out of this house. I just watched him, and I still couldn't believe that this was about to happen.

“The thieves already found this place. We should move away from here.”

Arius stopped right in front of me just to say those words. I was a bit shocked because of his presence.

“What do you mean by that, Arius? What should we do now?”

I inquired and Arius smirked.

“I already informed my men that we will be leaving this house. I know a place that we could stay permanently. That place isn't hard to discover. The house was already prepared and all we need to do is to move away.”

A deep breath escaped from me after I heard what Arius had told me. I narrowed my eyes to the place and I couldn't stop feeling sad. This place has been part of my journey here. It all started here, but this place was dangerous already. We have to move, and also because I was afraid that the other hunters would find out where I was.

They are not still aware about what I was doing, and I didn't want them to think that I am now the vampire's ally. I would never be the vampire's allies because that would never be going to happen.

I am a hunter and I dedicate myself to serve all the people against the dark creatures including the vampires.

“It's up to you, Arius. I will be coming with you because I have no place to stay.”

I lied to him. This is part of my plan. Staying here was also part of the plan because I wanted to know everything about the vampires. I need to know them more.

“Okay, let's move, then.”

I nodded my head from what Arius had told me. He gripped my wrist and I just felt my body was moving. Arius and I already started our departure to where he wanted to bring me. I was grateful because we didn't hit our bodies on the trees. Arius was great. He knows what way to run.

We've been running for almost twenty minutes and I know that we are far from his previous place. I know that our house would be located in the nearest town where we came from. I didn't want to leave, but I had to come with Arius.

My plans would work when I was with him. He will bring me to where his allies stayed.

“We are here.”

We stopped from running right in front of a big house. It was still dark, but the light from the moon helped me to see the place. I could feel my mouth agape in shock because of amusement. I just couldn't believe that I'll be staying in one of Arius' places. Particularly his new house.

“Amazing.”

I mumbled while my eyes were on his house. Arius chuckled and I was stunned by what he did next.
