Chapter 25

Athena's Point of View

I could already feel my head spinning because of the liquor that I drink. Even though I was drunk, I was still able to see the surroundings. I started stepping my legs to go home. I didn't dare to go back inside the bar because I don't want to see his face again. My heart would ache seeing Arius and Clary.

I couldn't even stop myself from dreaming that I should be the one on his side. I should be the one that he was talking with. However, he changed in an instant.

“You are so weird, Arius.”

I mumbled while shaking my head. My vision started to blur due to alcohol, but I could still walk. I just don't care if enemies attack me now.

“There is a beautiful woman here!”

I suddenly stopped walking when I heard a male baritone voice. I turned my head in his direction and saw a man with tattoos. He's calling his allies, and they run in my direction. They encircled me which made me smirk.

“Do any of you want a fight?”

I inquired about them, which made me smirk. They were about to come near my direction when I pointed my gun at them.

“Don't move any closer, or I will shoot all of you!”

I warned them that made them step backwards because of fears. They didn't continue their plans to hold me because I have guns.

“She had guns. Retreat!”

The tattooed men ran away from my direction out of fear. I just shook my head and continued walking.

“What a cowardly asshole!”

I exclaimed while gritting my teeth. No one ever dared to touch me as I walked away. I haven't encountered enemies in my way, which is great. I could feel in a moment that I'm about to lose my sanity. The liquor really hit me so hard.

“Oops!”

My head almost hit the hard wall. If I didn't notice it, maybe my face already kissed the wall. I feel annoyed by what happened. I was about to punch the wall when someone captured my hand.

“What do you think you're doing?”

I turned my head to the man who stopped me. My brows furrowed because of that. Although my vision was blurry, I was still able to see what's going on.

“Who are you?”

I inquired, which made his brows furrowed. The man is handsome, but Arius was the most handsome among all of them.

“I should be the one asking that. Who are you, and what are you doing here in Arius' house? But, wait… You looked familiar to me.”

A smirk formed on my lips because of what he uttered.

“Don't tell me you like me?”

The man smirked from what I mentioned to him.

“I shouldn't be mistaken. You're Arius' friend. However, we don't believe in that. We know who you are in his life. Arius never allowed a friend to stay in his house, especially a female and a human being, unless you're important to him.”

The smirk from my lips faded away because of what he uttered. I just felt sad when I remembered him. It seemed like I had already lost my energy.

“It doesn't matter. Arius didn't care about me. He already had Clary. His girlfriend is already back and to be honest… I really don't understand myself anymore. We're enemies, right?”

Arius' friend nodded his head from what I stated to him. I heaved out a deep breath before I continued what I was about to tell him.

“Yes, exactly.” He replied.

“We were enemies, but I don't know why I am so affected. Anyway, just don't mind me. I want to go to my room. I'm happy for Clary and Arius. That man deserved Clary because she's kind-hearted. And until now, I still couldn't believe that there are kind-hearted vampires just like her and Arius.”

The vampire friend of Arius didn't utter a word after I said those. I just continued on walking inside of the house to rest. My head was aching due to alcohol. I needed to rest and hopefully that I would feel better the next day.

The moment that I reached my room, the tears that I was keeping earlier fell to my eyes. My heart was aching in pain when I remembered Arius and Clary. I couldn't even imagine myself crying because of a man and worst, I was crying because of my enemies.

It's insane!

I don't want to overthink, but I already know what I really felt for him. I just met him not so long ago, but Arius has this impact that I couldn't even imagine.

I wiped the tears from my eyes and laid my body onto the bed. I washed everything from my head and tried to forget what happened earlier. I need to rest and I will think about other things by tomorrow.

After a couple of minutes, I already felt myself fall asleep, and I don't know what happened next.

I just woke up the next day with a headache. However, I force myself to get up from the bed to prepare my breakfast. It's already past ten in the morning and the vampires were asleep at this moment. I am free to roam the house without worrying that I might see Arius or Clary in the hall. After doing everything I needed to do, I decided to leave the room.

I wanted to stroll the entire house. I want to see the beauty of this place and the woods. However, I found someone already standing in front of my door the moment that I opened it. My eyes widened in shock because I couldn't believe that I was about to see his face.

“Arius?”

The demon vampire king grabbed my body inside the room. He even locked it, and I was a bit shocked by what he did.

“What do you think you were doing to me, Athena?”

I swallowed my saliva because of what he mentioned.

“What are you talking about?”

“This… You made me miss it.”

And then Arius did something next that I couldn't imagine.
