Athena's Point of View

I was hurt by what Arius told Clary. My heart was screaming in pain and I don't even understand why. Everything is too fast. I looked at Arius with my eyes filled with disgust. I just can't believe that he would tell her girlfriend not to mind me.

How dare he?

“Your boyfriend is right, Clary. Just don't mind me. I will be fine here.”

Clary didn't expect what I mentioned to her. Her stares encircled to the both of us and I know that she's confused about what's happening now.

“Don't speak like that to your friend, Arius. Come on, we should invite her to join us. We are celebrating my comeback, and Athena should also join us.” Clary mumbled, so I bent my head down.

Clary was too kind-hearted. I won't be shocked why she got the vampire's attention. However, I wonder if Clary is a vampire too. Well, I guess she is.

“No, Clary. I will be fine. You can all celebrate without me, so it will be okay.”

I tried to decline Clary's invitation because I didn't want to join them. However, the woman doesn't want me to. She keeps convincing me and I don't have a choice.

“Please, Athena. Don't decline me. I want you to join us and don't worry about Arius. He can't do anything with my decision.”

Clary mumbled, so I turned my head to her. Arius isn't looking at me. He's staring in the other direction and I don't know why he was acting like that. We're fine last night. He even saved me from thieves. He even accompanied me to my room, but why is he acting so weird now?

“If Arius would be fine about this, then will agree with you, Clary.” I responded by making the woman smile so widely.

“Arius can't say no to me.”

“Yeah, I won't. Whatever you want, I will support you, Clary.”

I bit my upper lips when I heard those words from him. The way he looked at her, it seemed like Arius wanted to tell how he cared for Clary.

“Thank you, Babe. Come on, Athena, follow us. The VIP table was already prepared.”

Clary already pulled my hand to where the table was. I didn't have a choice, so I followed her. Arius and his other allies were in our back. After one minute, we arrived at the table. I could already see the red drink above the table. Now I know Clary was also a vampire.

“I think I am out of place, Clary…”

I was hoping that I could convince her. However, Clary just looked at me and then she smiled.

“I will inform the waiter to give you a human drink. We are not bad, Athena and we swear, we have no plans of turning you into a vampire.”

I could feel my face flushed from what he told me. I just nodded my head and we settled the long table. Clary seated down on Arius' left side while I seated down on his right side. I want to shift a chair, but others already occupied the other seats, so I don't have a choice.

They are just talking about some things until my drink has already arrived. I could feel my throat dry for no reason, so I drank the liquor that was being served to me. I even frowned when I tasted the drink. It's not a lady drink, but I know I can manage it.

“You don't have a plan to go back to the other country anymore, Clary?”

It was asked by Arius' ally. I didn't know him because this was the first time that I saw them. Actually, they are five. Their faces aren't familiar to me, so I know that I only saw them just now.

“Yes. I don't want to leave Arius anymore. It's been years already, and I wanted to spend my life with him.”

My hands squeezed into fists when I heard what Clary had uttered. I even stared at Arius and the jerk was even smiling. It turned out that he also loved what Clary mentioned to him.

“We are really so happy because you're back. It's been a while, and our friend looked so pathetic when you left.”

Now I know who these guys are. It's Arius' friends and I didn't expect that.

“Really? Is that true, Arius?” Clary inquired of him.

“Yeah.”

Arius' response is just short, but the impact of it in my heart is huge. My heart was aching in pain, and it's just so weird.

Why the hell do I feel this now? What is the meaning of that?

My mind was too preoccupied about that, so I drank the liquor. My head started to spin. It is not that easy to get drunk, but because of them I know that I would end up getting drunk tonight.

“I know you did, Babe.”

Clary responded and everyone laughed but not me.

“How about you, Athena? Do you have a boyfriend? Maybe dare to tell us about your sex life.”

I released the glass from my grip when I heard what Clary had uttered. I just remembered how Arius took my purity from me. Pain hit me when I remembered that the demon vampire king was the first man who took my virginity. The man who was making me feel pain now.

“I… I have no boyfriend. I have something to do, Clary. I am really sorry and I have to go.”

Clary wanted to stop me, but I didn't listen to her. I just don't want to stay with them that long. I am just hurting myself.

“Madame, are you okay?”

The waiter was about to approach me when I didn't allow him. I ordered another bottle of liquor before I left the bar. I sat down on the sidewalk while drinking the liquor.

Arius' image kept popping into my head. I just can't imagine that I would become like this because of him. He's making me confused, devastated and mad. The emotions that I have felt right now were mixed.

It's all because of the demon vampire king, and I don't really understand why.
