Chapter 8
Athena's Point of View
I should be mad. I should slap him for kidding to me like that. But how come I like it? It seems like sweet music to my ear that awakened my whole system. My face even reacted to the words he mentioned and this seemed to be dangerous.
“A-Arius…”
I couldn't form my words well. I was still distracted by what he uttered. His words impacted me like this, and I couldn't even imagine that this day would ever come.
“Of course, I am only teasing you, Athena. Don't consider it seriously.” He uttered, so I just shook my head.
“Don't tease me like that. It's not a good joke, Arius.”
“Yes, I know, and I was also aware about your reaction every time that you heard me saying that,”
I bit my upper lips to what Arius had told me. This demon vampire king makes my life in chaos now. I wasn't like this when I still hadn't met him. But now?
Arius Walther had a really great impact on me. Whatever that is… I should control it. This isn't right.
“I want to rest, Arius. Please leave me alone. I want to regain my energy, so I can go back to my camp.” I uttered, and Arius moved away from me.
“Goodnight, Athena. I will see you again tomorrow. Please — don't go away. You still need to heal until you feel better, and you can go home.” Arius reminded me and I just nodded my head responding to him.
I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes. I just heard the click of the door, which indicates that Arius already left. I opened my eyes and made sure that he's not here anymore.
I tried to find my weapons, but I couldn't find them. It will be hard for me to go out of here without my weapon. I just felt relieved when I saw one. It's just the bronze knife and not enough to fight the vampires. So, I had no choice, but to rest until my wound was totally healed.
“I can't wait for the time to kill all of you. Vampires, warlocks and other evil creatures. I will eat my pride for now because of my plan and when I have the chance, you'll see who I am.”
There was a smirk formed on my lips when I mentioned those words. I started to imagine myself killing all the vampires, including their king Arius. Upon thinking of that, I didn't notice that I had already fallen asleep.
The next morning, I woke up in a good mood. I checked my wound, and it's not bleeding anymore, so I tried to get up from the bed.
“I'm all good!”
I uttered in happiness when I learned that I was already fine. I went to the bathroom to take a bath and also found out that I already had clothes hanging inside. I couldn't stop myself from smiling when I remembered Arius. That demon vampire was a caring vampire. I never imagined him to be like that.
After changing my clothes, I made up my mind to go out to stroll his house. Although this is not the vampire's castle, Arius had many vampire allies. I know they also stayed here with him.
I don't know where that jerk is, but I know for sure he's just over there. His house is wide and also I don't memorize every way here. This is my first time stepping into Arius' place.
“Where are you going, Hunter?”
I froze in my direction when I heard a voice at my back. It seems like blood went into my head as I sensed his scary voice. He's not familiar with me. I know that he's not also Arius. I felt distracted by his presence, but I still managed to face him.
A tall man with a dark aura was standing in front of me. He's not even smiling and I already know why. This man is a vampire just like Arius.
“It's none of your business, Vampire.”
“I still couldn't believe that Arius would bring the hell out of you in his house. You should die because you're a hunter, but he warned us. We shouldn't touch you, and you're lucky with that.”
My ears rang from what this man had uttered. I sensed something with him that annoys me. He's acting egocentric.
“Why? Are you that scared of him? If I were you… You should disobey his rules and fight me.” I uttered, but the vampire just smirked.
He crossed his arms and was still staring at me. It looks like the vampire was trying to read my mind. I could feel it and also I saw the disappointment from his face.
“Why can't I read you?” He inquired and that made me laugh.
“Even your king couldn't read me. None of you couldn't. You already know who I am, so it's time consuming if I introduce myself to you. Also, if you don't want to fight me, then I have to go.”
I turned my head away to keep going after mentioning those words toward the vampire. I was about to step my feet away when he spoke.
“Whatever your plans are to us… I am telling you, Hunter, that you would never win. We are powerful compared to you.” He confidently uttered that made me turn my head to him.
“I will take note of that. Hoping to fight you at the right time. But you know what… I could see your weakness. I could sense that you're easy to kill.” I uttered, which made him grit his teeth.
The vampire used his vampire speed to reach me. I was shocked by what he did. He strangled me in my neck with his hand. I never expected him to be as fast as that. However, with my bronze knife he'll be burned.
I was about to pull my knife from my pocket when someone arrived and grabbed him away from me. I just felt my heart beating so fast when I realized who he was.
It's Arius, and he's facing the goofy vampire now.
