Chapter 28
Athena's Point of View
Xyra's hands punch my face. I could taste my own blood now. She was really interested in hurting me, and I understand why. I couldn't do anything to remove the anger from her heart because it is close already. She didn't want to listen to me and I had no choice but to do what was right. I will kill her if I ever escape from here. Xyra won't stop until she kills all the hunters that she thought betrayed her before.
“Does it feel hurt, Athena?”
Xyra queried. She punched me again and I didn't turn my head away. How would I escape from her punch if I was tied here?
“Do whatever you want to do, Xyra. I can't do anything to stop you with that, but just make sure that you killed me because if not… I will do everything I can to make you pay.” I reminded her and she just smirked.
Xyra started to hurt me. I just endured all the beats that she gave me. I never showed her how weak I am. Even though my body wanted to give up, I did all my best to stay strong. I even stopped myself from crying because it won't help me.
“Don't worry, Athena because after this, I will end your life. I won't allow you to stay on top. You had to die because I will never allow you to rule us. I wanted to become the most powerful hunter of all, and not a woman like you!”
Xyra won't stop from beating me. My body was aching in pain but I did all my best to endure the pain that I had felt from her beats. Her allies were on her side, watching her hurting me. They are enjoying what they are seeing. I could even feel my blood boiling because of them. I really wanted to kill all of them, but I couldn't do that because I was tied up here.
“Just kill me, Xyra!”
I screamed and that stopped her from beating me. Xyra stared at me, and she motioned someone to give her a weapon. My mouth opened wide when I saw a gun. I recognize my gun, and she will be using it to kill me.
“Your wish will be my command, Athena. Your gun would do the honor.”
Xyra pointed the gun to my direction. She was about to click the caliber when we felt strong wind arrive to our direction. I could feel my mouth was agape when I realized who just arrived.
“Vampire!”
Everyone screamed when they found out that a vampire appeared. It's Arius, and I couldn't imagine that he's here. He followed me and my heart was so happy about that.
Arius takes the gun from Xyra. The enemies started shooting him and I felt nervous because their guns and bullets were made of bronze that would kill a vampire, but it's no use toward Arius. He wasn't hurt at all and that confused me. I couldn't believe that Arius couldn't be killed by the bronze. He's different from the other vampires and I have no idea about this.
“He can't be killed!”
Xyra's allies started to panic because of what they witnessed. They didn't expect that Arius was unbeatable. I looked at Xyra and she was also confused. However, when she realized what was going on, she ran away from us as well as her allies.
Arius turned his gaze to my direction. He looked worried about me. Arius removed all the leashes from me and then I was shocked by what he did. He grabbed my body and then he hugged me tightly.
“I am so worried about you, Athena. You have no idea how worried I am when I couldn't track you, but when you called my name… I already found out about your whereabouts.”
I bite my upper lips from what Arius had told me. I just remembered earlier that I mentioned his name. I didn't expect that it would work for him. He heard me and I am so happy because he saved me. Although my body was aching, when I saw Arius, the pain faded away.
“We have to catch them, Arius. Xyra is dangerous. She is a hunter like me, but her plans were different from mine. She was the one who brought me here and the one who tried to kill me. I should capture her before it's too late.”
Arius nodded his head from what I uttered to him. He even stared at me deep into my eyes, so I also do the same thing.
“You stay here, Athena, and allow me to take good care of everything. I will try to find where that hunter is.”
Arius left away after he uttered those words. I follow what he want me to do because I couldn't move. My body was still aching in pain from the beats that I got from Xyra. Although I want to kill that woman by myself, but I couldn't do that because of my wound.
I sat down on the ground to rest my body. I lean my head to the tree and waited for Arius to go back after chasing those who kidnapped me. It's been half an hour already and Arius isn't back.
I can't stop worrying about him. What if Xyra killed Arius?
Damn.
I don't know what I should do if that happens. Even though my wound was still aching, I forced myself to get up and began my search. I should follow Arius because I am so worried about him now.
However, someone already arrived the moment I got up from sitting on the ground. I was so happy when I learned that it's Arius.
He's back already. Arius abruptly held me tightly, so I couldn't stop staring at him.
“How's everything, Arius? Are you okay?”
I queried and Arius just smirked. I turned my head away because of how he looked at me. It seems like he was teasing me.
“I'm fine, Athena, but I failed. I couldn't find them anymore. Xyra and the rest of her allies have gone away.”
A deep breath escaped from my throat because Arius told me.
“But don't think about them as of now because what's important now were the two of us.”
