Chapter 21

Athena's Point of View

In just a few seconds, I was about to fall to the ground, but there were two strong hands who grabbed my waist instantly and prevented me from falling.

It's Arius and he was already staring at me. Our eyes met each other. He was also looking at me and it seemed like Arius was about to take my breath away because of the way he stared at me.

“Are you alright?”

If he didn't speak, I wouldn't be able to realize that I was staring at him. Therefore, I let go of him and tried to compose myself before I spoke to him.

“Y-yeah, I am alright. Let's continue.”

Arius just nodded his head from what I uttered to him. He started to step his feet away, so I just followed him. Arius started to explain everything that this house had. He was trying to explain to me the hall, so I wouldn't be lost. The house is huge because this is not just a simple house. It's a mansion.

“This will be your room, Athena, and mine is that side,”

Arius pointed to his room, which is just next to me. I bit my upper lips because there's something playing in my head right now. However, I keep shaking it to remove that thought away because it isn't right.

“I… I wanted to rest, Arius. Let's see each other tomorrow.”

I didn't wait for his response when he spoke again, so I stopped from walking inside to listen to him.

“Goodnight, Athena. Don't worry because I will ask someone to buy you clothes that you can wear. I will also buy you groceries that you can cook here.”

Arius mumbled that made me smile. I appreciate everything that he did for me. Even though I hated him that much because he's a demon vampire king, still I couldn't prevent myself from being amused by what he's showing to me.

“Thank you for everything that you did for me, Arius. Goodnight and see you tomorrow.”

After I mentioned those words, I didn't wait for Arius' replies because I already entered the room. I closed the door and narrowed my eyes to the whole room. It's huge and elegant. Although this room doesn't have a veranda, I already understand why. Vampires were the ones living here, and they didn't have windows because they tried to avoid being exposed to the burning sunlight.

After checking the entire room, I made up my mind to lay down onto the soft bed. I couldn't imagine this bed is too soft and relaxing. It helps me to fall asleep instantly.

The next morning, I woke up at exactly eight o'clock. My eyes widened upon realizing that I woke up so late already, so I got up from the bed and was about to go to the bathroom to take a bath when I noticed something.

I headed to the kitchen to check the big refrigerator and found out that it was already filled with so many stocks. My eyes laid onto the closet, so I ran through there and also found out that the closet already has so many kinds of clothes that fit with my body.

“How…”

I didn't finish what I wanted to say when I realized something. Arius was behind this. I thought he would provide those things and foods I needed later, but I didn't expect that it would already be the moment I woke up from bed. It's weird because I never felt his presence when he entered the room to put those here. It was even well organized.

“You are really making me amazed, Arius.”

As I mentioned those words, there was a smile formed into my lips. I remained standing in my direction for about one minute until I made up my mind to go to the bathroom to take my bath. After taking a bath, I prepared my food and ate it afterward.

I settled down on the couch while thinking about what I should do next. I really don't know what I should tell Arius after what he did for me. However, I needed to thank him because I don't want him to think that I didn't appreciate what he did for me.

I made up my mind to go out of the room to find where Arius is. I know that he's sleeping now because it's daylight. He's in his room and I need to check him there. However, I feel something unusual by checking him.

It seems like someone was trying to warn me. However, I still keep going. I tried to knock on his door many times, but no one answered me, so I opened it and was surprised.

Arius was lying to his bed with a woman beside him. They are sleeping together. I looked away and closed my eyes. I could even feel my hands squeezed into fists while my teeth gritted in anger.

Arius slept a woman to his bed that I didn't know. They didn't know that I was here. Tears fell to my eyes that stunned me.

“Why the hell are you crying, Athena? You shouldn't be crying because of your enemy!”

I started to scold myself just because of how I reacted towards what I witnessed. Arius and I had no relationship at all. I shouldn't be affected by that. There was nothing I should be worried about. He didn't deserve my tears, so I wiped it away in annoyance. I even left the room and didn't even care if they woke up because of how I slammed that door.

But I have to admit that it pisses me off. I don't like the way Arius hugging that woman because that should be me. I should be the one who he was hugging and not that bitch.

I wanted to mess around. My mind and my heart started fighting now. They didn't agree about what I should do towards what I saw earlier.

“Shut up, please!”

I was now annoyed. I couldn't understand myself anymore. My head was aching, but eventually… What part of me affected most was my heart.
