Chapter 18

Athena's Point of View

After ten minutes of thinking about Arius, I made up my mind to take a bath to rest. It's already past ten in the evening and I feel tired.

After taking my bath, changing my clothes and everything, I went to the veranda to close the door so I could sleep. However, I notice a group of men below who are heading to the house. They were wearing black masks and they were careful as they entered the house.

“Who are they?”

I thought and then remembered that no one is here. All the vampires were outside to find blood to drink. I was all alone here in Arius' house. I should do something to know who they are.

“I have this feeling about all of you.”

I picked up my gun and loaded it with bullets. There are thieves who dared to enter the demon vampire king's house. I have to do something because this place was also my home. My home because I'm living here at this moment. I won't let them steal important things here, and they should be extra careful to me. I won't let them escape.

I won't let those thieves take something here. They won't take any things which belong here. I am a hunter who killed evil creatures such as vampires, witches and werewolves. I protect the mundane from those aforementioned creatures, but I will never allow evil mundane people. I should capture all of them.

I just kept on walking and made sure that no one could ever notice my presence. The lights were off in all parts of the house. I could move without being caught. I could hear too many footsteps approaching in my direction. I hid myself from the left corner and waited for them to be near me.

“Make sure that you take all the antiques here!”

It was uttered by one of the thieves. He's ordering his allies to bring all the expensive things here to Arius' house. I gritted my teeth because I just confirmed that they are truly thieves.

“This house is huge. We had to separate and make sure that we could take everything before the owner of this house came back!”

There was a smirk forming in my lips when I heard one of them mention that. They are unaware that there's someone observing them, and that's me. Therefore, I decided to show my face before they leave to start their search. All of them were shocked because of my sudden appearance.

“Who are you?”

It was asked by one of the thieves. Their guns were pointed in my direction, but I didn't worry about that. My gun was also pointing in their direction.

“I should be the one asking that. What are you doing here? All of you shouldn't be here!”

The thieves stared at each other before they laughed at me. Yes, they laughed because they thought I was only joking. I just felt my blood boil because of them, but I tried my best to control myself.

I won't kill them unless they do something to me. It doesn't matter to me who they are. When they committed a mistake, I wouldn't tolerate them and would probably punish all of them.

“You've got to be kidding. Where did you get the courage to talk to us like that? Are you not scared of us?”

One of them inquired, which made me smirk. I started to count them to know how many are my enemies. And there are more than ten and I couldn't even believe that they would be able to discover this place. This house was located in the middle of the forest. No one dared to pass here, but just this group of men.

“Don't wait for me to get mad. All of you should leave the house, or I will change my mind.”

I commanded them to leave, but they don't have the plans to obey me. They even encircled me, so I just shook my head.

“We are not afraid of you, Lady. You are just alone while we were numerous. You couldn't kill all of us together, and you should be crying now. We will never let you escape.”

One of the thieves tried to caress my face, but I looked away. I don't know when my patience will last. They are making me mad.

“Please leave as soon as possible before they find out about your presence. I don't want something bad to happen to all of you, so please…”

I was begging them, but they never listened. I was about to kill them when they reunited to take the gun from me. They were able to take my gun from my grip and I started to feel nervous about it. I was afraid of what might be going to happen.

“You really think you can win against us? We are still males, and your strength is nothing to us.”

They started to drag me away from the hall. I started to panic. I was using all of my strength, but I wasn't able to escape from their grasp. I panicked when they laid me down above the table. There are men who are holding my two hands as well as my legs that prevent me from moving.

“You're beautiful, and we want to taste you before we begin our mission.”

They were about to tear my clothes when someone appeared in front of us. My eyes widened when I saw Arius.

He's back, and I couldn't even explain the happiness that I felt upon seeing him.

“You should let her go.”

Arius uttered, and the thieves started to attack him. I know they are shocked to know how Arius arrived here that fast. They are unaware that vampires exist.

“H-how did you…”

They didn't finish what they wanted to say when Arius started to attack them. My eyes just widened when I witnessed how he killed them. He sucks their necks. Arius looked so scary because of what he did. I couldn't even form any words.

This is the first time that I witnessed him drink the thieves' blood. He's being merciless, and I started to feel nervous because of that.
