Chapter 45.
Lacey broke away from the kiss to catch her breath, she was panting heavily.
"I haven't been able to get you out of my mind these past few days." Aidas said as their foreheads touched and Lacey smiled.
It was true, with everything that was happening, Aidas had chosen to bury himself with work rather than think about Lacey. But it was harder than he thought. And the simple thought that she was with Hunt made him mad sometimes.
His breathing got deep as the heat from Lacey's body started to reach him and her sexy lips said the words and he couldn't help but bite his lips and groan in pleasure.
"You can show me better than you can tell me."
The words flew out of Lacey's mouth and something about them set Aidas ablaze. He pushed Lacey back, tore off his shirt and tugged at her sweatshirt. Amelia's sweatshirt fell to the ground as Aidas pulled her close and ran his hands up and down her neck.
She couldn't control herself, she fumbled with his belt buckle trying to pull it away.
"I want you so bad." She whispered as she unbuckled his pants and slipped them off with his underwear. He was everything she had ever imagined. She thought as she looked up quickly, trying to hide her blush.
He was staring at her too.
She was already soaked as she felt the wetness almost seeping down her legs, she wrapped her hands around his shoulders.
He cleared all the stuff on his table and laid her on it, never once releasing her. His hands reached for her breasts and suddenly Lacey came to her senses as his cold hands touched her.
They were moving fast. Way too fast, she thought as she hesitated.
Aidas paused as he looked up.
"Everything okay?"
He asked and she managed a weak smile.
"Sorry... I just think we might have moved a little too fast."
"A little?"
Aidas asked incredulously as he pointed to his clothes on the floor.
Lacey covered her face in embarrassment as she reached for her sweatshirt.
"I'm sorry.... I shouldn't have come."
She said as she hurriedly put it back on.
"Why? Why are you changing your mind now?"
He insisted as he held her hand. He was still naked and Lacey was trying very hard to avert her gaze from his.
"Nothing. It's nothing."
She murmured as she started walking away.
She had been enjoying herself. Immensely. Till the thought of Hunt came to her mind and she just couldn't bear to go through with it without feeling guilty.
She pushed Aidas away quickly. Even though she deeply regretted it and still wanted him.
Aidas sighed as he started to pick up his clothes. Of course, he could only guess who had come to her mind.
No one else but Hunt freaking Adler!
The nuisance. Of all the people in the world she could like, it had to be the one who was his sworn enemy.
The one whom he hated the most.
"It's Hunt isn't it?"
Lacey looked away.
"I can't... I can't do this to him."
"Ugh!"
Adidas scoffed as he angrily put on his shirt. He paced around his office angrily.
"So what? You two are like a thing now?"
He asked and Lacey shrugged.
No, they were not.
With everything happening they barely had the time to talk about themselves. Something was always coming up.
They were far from a thing but it didn't make things any easier for them.
"No, we're not..."
"Then what's the freaking problem Lacey?"
Lacey sighed as she turned around.
"The problem is I can't decide!"
"I really can't!"
Aidas watched her quietly as she looked like she was on the verge of a breakdown.
"There are so many things going on right now, with me... With everyone else and all I can say is when it comes to the two of you, I'm so fucking clueless!"
She raised her hand in mock surrender.
"Lacey... You're going to have to choose..."
"There's no way you can love us both."
"Or even be in love with such a vermin like Hunt Adler."
"Vermin? Aidas..."
"Really?"
Aidas shook his head.
"No, no. Do you know he's a murderer? He killed my brother! Is that really the kind of man you want to be with?"
She could hear the pain in Aidas's voice. And she truly felt sorry for his loss, but how would she be able to explain to him that what happened wasn't exactly what transpired between them?
It wasn't her secret to tell and there was no telling how Aidas would react to it.
He might just go out and kill Ruhn, Hunt's brother.
"He's not as bad as you think. I know you guys once used to be really close friends "
Aidas chuckled.
"He's fed you with his lies ugh? What did he tell you this time?"
"It's not my place to tell you. But if you ask me, you two really need to talk."
"Things aren't always as they seem Aidas."
She said and she walked out if his office, leaving Aidas alone to his thoughts.
There were a few moments Suna had been immensely proud of herself. Very few moments..
The first was when she had become Beta of her pack. She had never felt so proud, that Hunt Adler had chosen to bestow her with the honor and privilege of serving the pack.
And when she has been made the head of her unit.
Two very proud moments in her life, she held them dear and cherished them.
After visiting the abandoned church and finding the demon hunter Crispin Bjorn which had worked to her advantage.
Suna had come up with a conclusion.
A conclusion and a clue to who could have summoned the demons.
A witch.
A strong witch was all she used to cast spells and try to read the energy of the abandoned church where the demon had come from. One of the few connections she had to the human world.
The witch almost lost her powers from the consultation.
But at the end, the information she had found was worth it.
More demons had been coming in, whoever summoned the demon didn't just summon one, there were many others. Lesser demons but many others.
And only one person had summoned them.
Suna, Crispin and the witch ran through the possibilities. If the demon summoner was really after a war, more demons would have been released. Other cracks and tears between the Underworld and their world didn't radiate the same energy as the first one did.
No, they did not.
That was when Suna decided to do her very own research, with Hunt.
Together again they broke into the State building again and went through the archives.
There was something the council was hiding from them.
Something they weren't talking about.
"So? What do you have for us?"
"Why have you called us for this emergency meeting?"
"Speak child!!"
All the different voices murmured loudly.
Each with his own questions, some more annoyed than others that their day had been disrupted.
Hunt nodded slowly, urging her to go on.
They had both found out the disturbing news.
"As regards to the disturbing killings around the city, we have found a clue to help us."
She said softly.
During that same time, Crispin Bjorn walked into the Council meeting room there was a kook of amazement on his face.
She ignored him. He was only just realising that she had been using him to get information.
"I have to say, I'm highly disappointed that the council didn't seem to think this important enough to inform us."
"It would have certainly made things much more easier."
She murmured under her breath.
A few council men were shifting on their seat. Many were frowning.
"Will you get on with whatever you have to say or do you really have nothing to say?"
Millie Brown asked in annoyance and Suna sighed.
She started.
"The City Council has only one immortal enemy, that seem to have been in conflict for eight years now..."
Everyone was watching her with rapt attention.
"About eight years ago. The City Council detained and arrested Hades Vigilanco. He was Fae."
Some if the council men shifted in their seats while others started grumbling.
Of course, no one knew about it because it was a private trial. Hades Vigilanco had been persecuted quietly.
"Immediately after that, his lover, Ianthe Zephyr Aranell, the sister to the Queen of Faes was said to have destroyed the left wing of this building with her mind alone."
"It was said that it had taken months to rebuild it. With stronger spells and building blocks alike."
"Ianthe was never found after that. And seven years later, the council held a secret meeting where it was said that Hades would be transfered to another holding facility in another state because the spells used to keep him in were weakening."
"The transfer never happened. Because right after that meeting, two of the Council member suffered violent attacks by a demon. Fortunately, they survived."
"And how do you know about all this?"
Hunt's father asked with a scowl on his face and Suna shrugged.
"Is that what really matters right now? What's important is that Ianthe needs to be stopped!"
There was silence all around the hall. not even a pin dropped.
Suna looked to Hunt for help.
Hunt quickly got on his feet, some of the council men turned to face him while his father frowned at him.
"We'd like if the Council sheds more night on this situation. Because from our findings, more demons are entering the city and if we're not careful, our least worries would be how to hide the bodies..."
"So, if this Council cares about Aron City and it's people, we need to know what actually happened."
"Why weren't we told about Hades and Ianthe."
Crispin Bjorn scoffed.
"Because this time, it's the Council's fault."
"They started this whole mess eight years ago when they messed with the Faes."
