Chapter 34: A Wrath
Blossom's POV
He was standing for nearly over ten minutes without saying a word but he couldn't stop looking at the lenses in his hand.
I decided to break the silence. "Jevan. I can explain..."
His eyes locked on me, looking like they were ablaze. He made slow steps towards me and my fear rocked my core.
He still didn't say a word. He handed me the contact lenses and surprisingly walked out of my apartment.
I ran after him but ran right into Nina who was on her way to deliver some paperwork to have me complete.
"Hey, Blossom!" she called as I moved past her.
"I'll be right back! Please stay with Jason for me!" I called back.
I chased after Jevan even faster until I caught him entering his Range Rover. I took it upon myself to enter in the front passenger seat.
"Jevan! Talk to me!"
"NOW YOU WANT ME TO TALK TO YOU?" He shouted. He was looking straight ahead, avoiding my face.
"Jevan..."
"He's my son, isn't he?" he asked.
"Yes. He is your son."
"Why the fuck you never said anything! Huh?"
"Jevan, there was a reason as to..." I was saying but he cut me off again.
"What was the reason, huh? What was the reason? WHAT-WAS-THE-FUCKING-REASON?" he yelled.
He was livid. That was expected.
"Jevan.. I didn't know how to tell you. There wasn't a time to tell you!" I tried to match his tone of voice but I failed.
"That's straight up bullshit, Blossom and you know it. There were plenty of times to tell me that Jason was my son.
I asked you about him on the flight to France. You could have told me then.
When I came over and first met him, you could have told me then.
I took him to his father-son dance. You could have told me then and
You know where HT is located. You could have come by any day and told me he was my kid. Don't sit your ass there talking about there wasn't a time to tell me that he is MY SON!" he finished with another shout.
"Jevan, I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you. I swear," I pleaded. Tears welled up in my eyes.
"You didn't want to say anything to me. You wouldn't have put contact lenses in his eyes! For Christ sake, he's six. He could develop a serious eye condition problem from that. What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I'M SORRY! I understand how you're feeling."
"You have no idea how I'm feeling right now. Jason refers to you as 'mommy' while he calls me 'Jevan' instead of 'dad' so don't you fucking say you understand how I'm feeling because YOU DON'T! Matter of fact, get out!"
"You can't be serious."
"I'm dead serious, Blossom. Get out."
"No! You don't know shit about my life because you've never walked in my shoes. You were born rich and you'll die rich! You have no idea what it's like to struggle! You're happy.
You're living the best life with your fiancee and getting married to her! But what about me? You said you'll always love me but you moved on and it hurts, Jevan! It hurts!"
"The sympathy card? Really, Blossom? You do realize that that speech you just made, it was all about you. Not Jason. You deprived him of knowing his dad. He still doesn't know!
You need to grow up from that high school memory! An innocent child is involved and I'm not about to pretend like if he isn't my son."
"How and when should we tell him you're his father?"
"That's on you. I wasn't the one keeping secrets."
He started the engine and I got out. It was the fastest I've ever seen someone drive away.

I arranged with Jevan to meet up with Jason and I at the park that following Saturday.
It was sunny in the afternoon and Jason was sucking on an ice-cream when Jevan arrived.
"Hi Jevan," Jason greeted when he laid eyes on him. "Want some of my ice-cream, it's Chocolate."
He handed his ice-cream to Jevan who had no choice but to take a tiny lick. Jason then went to play with a friend he made five minutes ago.

"How exactly should we tell him?" I asked Jevan.
"I think we should break it to him gently. He's still a kid and this is all new to him, including myself."
"Okay."
After ten minutes of running and chasing, a panting Jason ran back to us.
"Jason," I started, pulling him onto my lap, "There's something you have to know. Something very big."
"Like a secret?" he asked. A flash of excitement playing on his face.
"Exactly."
"Tell me. Tell me," his excitement grew.
"Okay. So remember when you'll always be asking me about having a dad," I spoke.
I looked at Jevan. His jaw tightened but he remained silent.
"Well...." I was saying but Jason, being the smart child as he was, knew what was happening now.
"Wait. Is Jevan going to be my dad?" he asked.
"He is your dad".
Jason's mouth formed an O from surprise but he slide down my legs and went to his father.
"I got you something," he told Jason.
"Already spoiling him," I joked but Jevan looked at me dangerously. I shut up afterwards.
"Wow! A sneakers just as yours. Can I wear them now?" he asked his dad.
"You can."
Jason tossed the almost worn out sandals aside and stepped into the new pair of Jordans.
Jevan tied the laces and Jason couldn't stop looking at his new shoes
Jevan tied the laces and Jason couldn't stop looking at his new shoes.
"I love them. Thanks daddy," he said.
"You're welcome."
Jason went to show his new friend his new shoes.
"That was very nice of you. Thanks Jevan."
"He's my son. There's so much in store for him."
"You know, you don't have to spoil Jason."
"Blossom, I'm not spoiling him. I'm providing for him. I've already missed six years of his life. I have a lot of making up to do so don't you start with that 'spoiling him' crap."
"Seriously? Is that how you're going to talk to me?" I asked him.
"What did you expect? You expected a round of applause and a standing ovation for keeping my son from me all this time?"
"You don't have to be so mean. Where's the nice Jevan from highschool?"
"He left."
He got up from the bench we were sharing and went to keep a closer eye on Jason.

After the day at the park, Jevan drove Jason and I home.
"Daddy, are you going to marry mommy?" Jaaon asked when we pulled up to the apartment.
"Jason.. your mom and I are just friends," Jevan answered poorly due to being caught off guard by the sudden prompt question by our inquisitive son.
"So you're not marrying mommy?" Jason asked again.
"Jason, your father and I aren't a couple anymore but we still love you and he's still going to be your dad."
"But I want a real daddy," Jason pouted.
"I am your real daddy," Jevan told him.
"No you're not. You're not marrying mommy and you're not living with us. You're not my real daddy. You're just my daddy."
Jevan and I fell silent. There wasn't a thing we could have said to make it better and we couldn't lie to our son.
He wasn't the gullible type like most kids his age.
"Jason, believe it or not, most folks our age got very complicated lives. Your mom and I love you very much and we're going to be there for you no matter what. That's what matters right now. Okay?"
"Okay daddy."
Jason and I got out.
"Blossom, I've been waiting on you," a voice said behind me.
I turned and saw Hunter Sax.
