Chapter 61: Chip Off The Old Block

Hunter's POV

My father slammed his hands on his desk after ushering me into his office and shut the door behind him.

"WHAT THE HELL, HUNTER! I've had just about enough from you," he started with a shouted.

I scoffed.

"Oh, you think this shit is funny, huh? You have everything a guy your age dreams about. I established a company for you to grow but yet, you can't keep out of trouble."

"You're the one to talk! You think giving me the company makes up for abandoning mom and I?"

"Hunter! I didn't abandon you! Your mom and I just couldn't stand being in the same room together anymore so I left. That had nothing to do with you. I was there."

"No, you weren't there! You were only there to clean up my mess but you weren't there as a father should be for his child. His son!"

"Listen to me because I'm only going to say this one time. Stay the fuck away from The Hollens. That includes Blossom Wright. You kidnapped your ex-girlfriend and her kid! What were you thinking! Are you crazy!?"

"About her, yes! I love her!"

"Well she doesn't love you back anymore. Move on. Take a vacation! Go to the beach! Get a life, Hunter. I'm not about to cross waters with The Hollens because they're like sharks and I'm not going to take any bites for you anymore! So if prison is the wake up call you'll need, so be it!"

"Dad, no. I'm listening to you. I'll stay away from them from now on. You have my word."

"I have your word, Hunter?"

"Yes."

My father's expression hardened and he locked eyes with me for over one minute. He ran his hands down his aging face before speaking up.

"I believe you. I'll make this go away but I meant what I said about staying away from The Hollens. Matter of fact, a restraining order was already slapped against you."

"I'll stay away from them," I assured.

My father allowed me to take the back exit and I went back to my home. One way or another, I will get my revenge on The Hollens.

Blossom's POV

The big day was today and my excitement wouldn't let me stand still.

As expected, Nina and Sophia were at my side. They assisted me with my glam makeup and help me into my wedding dress.

They both gasped like fishes out of the water when they saw how perfect the dress was on me

They both gasped like fishes out of the water when they saw how perfect the dress was on me.

"Jevan is going to kiss you before the official say so," Nina joked.

Tears of happiness were already in my eyes.

"Hey hey! You'll ruin your makeup if you go all crying on me now," Sophia said.

I fanned the tears away just when a knock came on the door.

"Jevan, if that's you, you can't see the bride before the wedding," Nina called.

"It's not Jevan," a voice answered and my heart leaped from my chest. I ran to the door and pulled it open.

"MAMA!" I yelled and went to embrace her with a hug.

"Ahh, my daughter. My beautiful daughter."

"You came."

"Of course. I wouldn't miss your wedding day for the world. You're beautiful. My word. And that dress. I'm so happy for you, Blossom. So happy."

"Thank you so much. I missed you," I told her, still holding onto her. She was slimmer than before and it was obvious she had aged. Her eyes were puffy and fine wrinkles can be seen underneath them but she was still beautiful. She was still my mother.

I took her into the room and my best friends did her makeup. She then changed into a traditional Ghana garment to walk me down the aisle.

Jevan and the children were already at the chapel and the time was growing closer to the proceedings. My mom, my friends and I filed out of the mansion and into the limousine.

After arriving, everyone found their respective places when the music started.

I chose Jada to be my Maid Of Honor. I didn't want to cause any disputes between my two best friends so they were both bridesmaids.

They were the first ones down the aisle and they took their place at the alter. Jevan, his best man and groomsmen were already present.

Then, the flower girls littered the aisle with petals and my darling son was the ring bearer. He looked so adorable in his tuxedo.

Finally, the song of the moment came. Everyone stood up and I took a deep breath.

"Ready?" my mom asked, holding on her arm for me.

"I'm ready," I answered.

Heads turned as I walked by. Smiles were plastered on everyone's faces as they adore me in my wedding dress.

At last, I reached the man I was taking as my husband. We joined hands as the official allowed everyone to take their seats.

The official started the service and when it was time for the vows, I couldn't stop the tears. Jevan's vow was so heartwarming, I wanted to kiss him right after.

I was next.

"Jevan, if I had a choice to choose you or the world, I'll pick you because you are my world. You're the sweetest, most caring person I've ever met. You make me feel complete. I can't imagine life without you in it and I don't want to. I love you. Then, now and forever. I'm in love with you."

Jevan lowered his head to wipe his tears away. Afterwards, I placed the ring on his finger.

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Mr and Mrs Jevan Hollen. You may kiss your bride."

Jevan took me into his arms and we passionately kissed. It was all a new feeling. More happiness. My arms went around his neck and everyone cheered and clapped for us as we descended the alter.

"Congratulations," Jasmine and Evan said to us.

"Thank you so much," I answered.

"You have my blessings. Take care of my daughter and my grand babies," my mother said to my husband.

"Can't picture myself not taking care of my wife and our children," he said, "And thank you for your blessings."

To my surprise, my mother hugged him and we left the chapel to head to the wedding reception at Jevan's parents mansion.

Drinks and food were in abundance. Music played from a live band as everyone mingled and talked and laughed.

Jevan gathered our children and I for the wedding photos before getting the rest of the family involved.

I was happy. I was contented with the life I had and shared with my husband.

The day went on by smoothly without a bump and I was looking forward to our honeymoon in The Maldives.

The children were coming too. Dahlia was still too young to be without her fresh breastmilk and Jevan didn't want to leave Jason behind. The last thing we wanted, was for him to think we were neglecting him for his sister.

Our condo in The Maldives was wonderful. It sat at the shore with the sea right underneath it.

"Jevan, please keep a close eye on Jason," I called when the two decided to go for a walk on the seashore.

"Of course," he answered. He kissed me before leaving.

Although Jevan and I agreed on the 'no cellphone rule', he was out and Dahlia was asleep.

I switched on the phone to take some pictures and that's when messages flooded in.

- Blossom, have you seen the news?

- Blossom, it's terrible here, we're about to leave!

"What the hell," I said and I attempted to call Sophia.

"Hey, no cellphone," Jevan said as he walked into the room. He had forgotten to take his sunglasses with him.

"Jevan, something is wrong."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm not sure but I got some weird text from Sophia."

Sophia answered and I put her on speaker.

"Blossom?"

"I'm here, Sophia. What's wrong? What's going on?"

"Our homes."

"What's wrong with our homes?"

"The state is burning, Blossom."
