Visited the Country Side

They say in this world, there’s only black and white. But what do I feel like I’m in a gray area? I’m not good but I’m not bad either. I feel guilty, but I don’t feel guilty as well.

”Jade,” I heard silent whispers.

When I opened my eyes, he was the first person I noticed. He is standing there delicately leaning and caressing my face as the door on my side is open.

I coughed because I briefly lost consciousness. I straightened myself and sat up. He assisted me in exiting the car. It is an entire landscape. I could make out clumps of trees from a distance and it was windy.

”Where are we?” I asked.

I felt his hands touched the small of my back.

He kissed the side of my head and said, "My friend's property. This man is acting strangely toward me; he is excessively clingy or touchy in any way. What is wrong with him?

“Are we staying here?” I asked without thinking much. My whole focused is on the outdated-looking-like house. I find it creepy and interesting at the same time.

”No, we’ll staying at my place.”

I glanced at his way. He immediately get what I’m trying to say.

”I have a villa in this town. We’ll stay there.”

”For two weeks?” I raised a brow.

He nodded. “You’ll stay there while I supervise my project.”

I pouted and nodded. And just like a cue, I saw an old man going out of the house. My eyes became attentive.

”Spencer!”

The old man called out with a cane. On his lips is an e-pipe cigarette. I squinted my eyes and realized that his face was familiar to me.

He came over and immediately greeted Knight. Even when the elderly man spoke to Knight in a way that I wasn't able to hear, Knight muttered obscenities.

The elderly man was giggling when he turned to face me. Knight again touched me with his hands.

"Young lady, it's good to see you again."

That’s just the time when I realized who he was. I saw him that night something happened to Beau. He’s the older man with the younger one who came to Beau’s penthouse.

”N-nice to meet you too, mister…”

”Apollo will do.”

I nodded and smiled. “Nice to met you too, Apollo.”I

”We weren’t able to introduce ourselves properly last time.”


I saw his eyes went to Beau with meaning but I don’t know what he’s trying to mean. I wonder if he had ever bought a woman here.

“Would you mind inviting us inside now, Apollo?”

The man had a crooked laugh. He lead the way while saying some things that revolves around how he hasn’t prepared much because he didn’t know I was coming with him.

When I entered his house, it gets even more creepy. I don’t wan to judge since I know that city is way more different than the life at the country side . But this houe is really giving me creepy vibes. Though, I find it interesting still.

”My apology if I don’t prepared much, young lady. Spencer always declines my invitation so I’m not expecting him to come more coming with a plus one.” Apollo said while serving some liquor.

I was quite taken back but for the sake of respect I smiled anyways.

”Shut the fvck up, Appollo.”

He served three rum glasses and a square glass of a metal-colored liquor, which I think is the rum.

"Damn Apollo, serve a proper beverage for Jade." Beau demanded, slightly annoyed.

Apollo smirked. "Oh, right. My apology, Athena. Spencer and I never met without rum involved." he laughed.

“No this will do.” I pour a drink on my glass and I immediately heard Beau muttering curses.

”A rum in the morning? Great.”

I ignored him and winked at Apollo. He just laughed and ignored Beau’s demands.

Apollo sat in front of us while he was eyeing us cautiously with a smirk on his face. His stare stopped at Beau. Their eyes talked, and I’m the only one who didn’t understand what they were talking about.

”Excuse me, could you guys not be obvious? I’m here?” I laughed while sipping the bitter liquid. Damn, I’ll probably get drunk.

Beau stopped his gaze to Apollo and shut his eyes tight before he sipped on his drink.

”I hope you enjoy your stay here, Jade.”

I smiled and leaned. “I’ll enjoy my stay for sure. I want to escape the chaos of the city.”

”You don’t know the chaos the country side had, Jade.”

I pursed my lips an thought of his statement but I was cut by Beau’s clearing of throat. I glanced at him and he seemed uncomfortable of something I think?

”Are you alright?” I asked him.

He just cocked his head and shrugged his shoulders before sipping to his drink as if he’s trying to hide something from me. I narrowed my eyes on him.

”It’s been so long since the last time Spencer visited the country side. That’s why I invited Blanco as well.”

I was about to ask question but Beau stole my chance.

”What? Are you for real, Apollo?” He asked with blazing eyes.

”What’s wrong with that young man? A little reunion wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

I pouted and thought about it. I nodded a little, siding with him. This might be a chance for him to have some leisure after all.

Beau pushed his glass harshly onto Apollo. My eyes widened, anticipating that it would hurt the old man. But to my surprise, his reflexes were so fast that he was able to catch it so perfectly.

Beau didn’t spoke. He was just staring at Apollo as if he had done something bad at him.

”You brought yourself here, Spencer. Don’t think of killing me.” Apollo even smiled even though Beau is fuming already.

And it made me even more confused that I couldn’t understand the point of these two. What is wrong with them?

"Be careful. You came with this beautiful lady right here. " Apollo added, and laughed.
