What have you've done?

I'm not sure why I reacted like that to what happened earlier. Maybe because of my past experiences, I saw how my mother died and how my father suffered when he was sick. And now, my dear friend, Eli, is in the hospital. Maybe that's the reason why I couldn't bear to see people suffer this way.

In the car, I was just quiet. He sat naked in the car with his eyes closed. I knew he was awake, and just trying to relax himself. I didn't even try to speak anymore because I honestly didn't know what to say.

I saw his clothes beside me. I just gently placed it on his body so that he wouldn't get cold. I was about to remove my hand when he suddenly grabbed it with his eyes still closed.

I swallowed and looked at his face. He intertwined our hands and said nothing. I kept quiet and glanced at the driver, who didn't seem to care about us.

We arrived at his penthouse building. It seems that my emotions and the things I think about are divided. Oli is right. I don't know what I'm getting myself into. You see, we've only met twice, and this is what happened. Even if I can't be destroyed by the knot that I’m going into, I will still probably be destroyed by this bachelor's secret.

"I-I'm going home."

I hesitated when the car was parked. He eyed me seriously and went outside the car. He was attended by his driver slash bodyguard, but he just waved his hand and the driver immediately got it.

I just stood there waiting for him to offer his driver to take me home, but when he realized what I wanted, he opened the door next to me and stared at me intently.

I sighed heavily and went outside. He was a little weak, but he still gracefully drew my hand. Consider a half-naked man dragging a woman through the parking lot. That was our scene.

At the lift, I couldn't help but blurt out some words again. "I'm going to go home once you've settled down."

I saw from my peripheral view how he eyed me after I said that. I only heard his deep sigh, and the lift opened. I was surprised when a man appeared there.

My eyes widened a fraction, and it seems like the guy felt the same way too. His skin was fair, and his hair was a little long. His physique is way leaner compared to Beau's.

To my surprise, someone followed the man. It was an older man, and compared to the previous man, he didn't seem surprised.

I quickly let go of Beau's hand, causing him to look at me. He massaged the bridge of his nose before he walked in the direction of his living area.

"What's up?" He asked after throwing himself on the couch.

I just stood not far away and stared at the people who were new to me. This is the moment where I would miss Oli the most. Except for himself, I didn't have enough background information on him. I haven't even planned the plan yet, and now I've confirmed even more that I really don't know anything about his life.

"We've heard from your driver." A man of my age, I believe, inquired. The old man quietly stood there, listening to the conversation.

"I'm fine," Beau said briefly.

"I could smell your blood from here." The man said it again, causing me to look at him.

"Blanco," Beau called him out.

My brows furrowed in response to the sudden tension. I saw the man he called Blanco sid-eyed me before letting out a harsh sigh. I'm not that dense to not realize what they’re trying to say. So I excused myself as soon as I felt that.

"I'll just go to the restroom."

They stared at me silently, like dogs watching my departure. As soon as I left the scene, it felt like a weight was lifted from me. I felt creepy being in the same room with them.

I looked at myself in the mirror and saw that I was still fine except that my lipstick was a little off because of what Beau and I did earlier. I spaced out again. To this day, I still wonder what really happened to him inside. I don't know what's up with him. Is he sick? Does he have some sort of disorder or something?

The way I saw the restroom of that restaurant a while ago blew my mind. It was such a mess that you would think an animal had been there. So why, in such a short period of time, was that room so cluttered with just him inside is a big mystery to me.

I just fixed myself and quietly returned to the living area. I heard the last words of the man named Blanco.

"Something's up for sure. Xena must have known something. She will not look for you if she's not involved with this."

"There's more to know. For now, I'll look into other possibilities."

I saw the old man's eyes bore into me.The other two reacted quickly, so I continued walking in their direction. Beau immediately stood up and came in my direction to meet me halfway. I still couldn't take my eyes off the two men.

"Let's meet some other time and talk about this again."

The man named Blanco sighed heavily. He glanced at me once more, almost like he was glaring at me, while the older man just looked at me with a much softer feel. I cleared my throat and didn't say anything until they left.

Beau and I became more awkward being left alone. He threw his body on the couch again, and I just watched him. God knows how much I wanted to ask, but we had a rule. No personal questions. This set-up is only for the call of the flesh. And I'm only interested in his wealth.

"Please come here," he begged with his eyes closed.

I can't move from where I'm standing. I can just leave and show an attitude here. But for some reason, my body won’t move.

"Please?"

Our eyes met, and I couldn't express what I felt. His words seemed to have some kind of spell, so I followed what he said. I'm like a child waiting to see what he will do next.

My heart couldn't stop beating loudly when he reached for my hand and gently pulled me into his lap. It seems that he is very sleepy or very tired, so the urge to ask became even stronger.

"Can you stay?" he whispered.

I swallowed the pressure building in my throat. My words are so mixed up that I can't say the right words.

"We've made it clear before about the rules that we made for each other."

His intent stares sent electricity through my body as he opened his eyes.

"But if what's happening to you will affect me without my being aware of it, don't you think I have the right to at least know what's happening?"

I have to admit that his stares are intimidating. The two times we met, this was what was needed immediately.

I don't want to admit it to myself, but I know that my curiosity is not only caused by concern for myself but also because of him.

He caressed my hand and brought it to his lips. His eyes were almost closed, as if he were about to fall asleep because of what happened earlier.

"I'm not sure either, Jade. Tell me. What do you think you've done to me?"
