And I said it there.

She questioned, "Does the story end that way?"

No, that's not how our story begins. It's not about them. Jade, this is all about us. I want to let her know that.

“Why, and how would you like it to end?”

She sulked. "Maybe a happy ending? I hate sad endings," the speaker said.

I watch her face intently. We’ll make it one, baby. If only you would accept and trust me.

"So what’s your answer to my question?"

"Hmmm, if it’s alright if a wolf falls in love with me?" she thought for a few seconds. "Logically, I think no. But if I’ll go with my feelings, I think yes."

"What kind of answer is that?"

She grinned at me and said, "Well, it's not true, but if it is, what's wrong with being in love? Love should never be a sin, so I don't understand why god would make that the child's curse. Love should never be a curse."

Is it possible to fall further, Jade? Because you're correct. Never will you become my curse. I'll never feel cursed by my love for you. If that's the case, I'll be grateful that the goddess cursed me.

"What? T-this…this is…"

Blanco was unable to finish his sentence. This was once, way back when he first heard Apollo told him the tale of my parents. I comprehend. Nobody is aware of that.

He sounded shocked, "So you're telling me that you're cursed, and if that's the case, then why did you run away from the pack?"

“We still don't know everything, which is why I need you to find that augur. She'll explain things to me and, for sure, she'll know what kind of curse is placed upon me. I didn't know about the curse until Apollo explained it to me.”

Blanco questioned, "No one knows what the curse is?"

“No, not even his father or mother knew it,” Apollo replied. "Only the goddess knew it."

"Fvck! Fvcking sh*t!" Blanco exclaimed.

While massaging the bridge of my nose, I closed my eyes. My intercom made a noise. I made a press.

My secretary said, "May I remind you of your attorney's appointment this afternoon at three?

"Alright."

Blanco gave me the hawk-eyed look.

“Why are you still going on like this when you knew it was her all along?”

"Blanco, fate is intended to happen. He could never escape that. " Apollo calmly stated.
"But he could have at least made an effort. Did he? No! He’s still going on with that woman, with that human!"

I looked at Blanco, who was pacing back and forth with such a look of annoyance on his face. I crossed my legs and clasped my hand.

He gritted his teeth as he told me, "I've always been on your side, alpha. You knew that. And this is my own way of protecting you. But you know what frustrates me? When you would not even make an effort to protect yourself.”

I gritted my teeth.

“The woman you're helping to free his criminal friend from prison is also a criminal, so what is that all about again?”

I stood up after banging my hand on the table. I snarled at him while flashing my fangs.

"Don't you dare speak ill of my woman," the speaker commanded.

He approached the table and touched it with his hand. Apollo was calmly observing us, as though it were a common occurrence.

“Meshka is waging war against your pack because you wouldn't dare accept your fate of mating Xena. That is what you're supposed to do. And not getting involved with a human who does nothing but push you closer to your doom. You are our alpha. You are supposed to protect your pack that you chose to abandon.”

I was at my wits' end. I lash out my claws and point them at his neck. At that point, Apollo stood up to, I believe, stop us but he said nothing.

Blanco grinned. I'm trembling terribly because I'm currently trying to stop myself from killing him. He is your subordinate, Beau. Think clearly.

“Why not leave and abandon your true fate? You know, I'm spitting facts here. Who cares about your fate, right? Fvck fate, as you said.”

He was facing the table when I grabbed him by the neck. My claws began to pierce his skin. My wolf was itching to lash out, I could feel it. I felt as though red and gray hues were fading from my vision.

"Go on, kill me. Glaze is losing his patience. You know, he's just a beta. He’s not capable of taking care of the pack for long. As soon as Mathias and Xena start a rebellion, our pack will disappear just like that, without their alpha, without anyone leading and caring for them. That's what you want, right? Lives of everyone against one."

I took deep breaths. Before I pushed him so hard that he flew off against the wall, I crumpled his shirt.

Apollo said, "You two, stop it."

Standing up, Blanco took off his shoes. He gave me a sour look.

He said one last thing before storming out of my office: "I've always been on your side, and know that I will always be. No amount of money could bribe me anymore if it's your life that's at risk here. Remember that."

I didn't want to think about those words as I looked down at the ground. I have to wrap up my transaction with Jade. Right now, Jade needs me.

Apollo said, "You know, everything he said was right.” He gave my shoulder a pat.

He said before he left, "You are the alpha of your pack for a reason, but I trust you. You could never runaway from the curse or your fate.”

I tightly close my eyes and toss anything that landed in my eyes. Fvck. Never before have I felt such conflict.

Right. I just got the cold hard facts from Blanco. But does he really believe I didn't consider that? Sh*t! I no longer give a damn. I'll follow through with my plans and put Jade's needs ahead of my own pack.

I'm fine as long as they don't get to her. They wouldn't want to get close to her because if they did, I wouldn't think twice about killing them. I promise to do that.

However, things might even get worse. Really. Things won't always go where you want them to when you want them to.

I yelled at the four attorneys and the two other investigators in front of me, "What do you mean, years? We could do that in months. Pay whoever needs to get paid. Sweep all my money off just to release his father immediately.

"Mr. Spencer, you have to calm down. We are doing everything we can for this case. "
I smirked and looked at them. "Why? Is the man out of jail already? "
They all avoided my gaze. No one could answer.
"Then you are not doing your everything!" I exclaimed and stood again.

I forced them to go. I don't require anyone's disapproval. There has been progress, but nothing seems to be working out, is what I want them to say.

“Some of our investors want a general meeting to discuss the sizeable amount of money that vanished, Mr. Spencer.”

My expression remained dejected. My company's attorney informed me.

"Turn it down. Do everything to tamper it."

"But- "
"That’s just five percent of three investors combining.  Why the hell are they making it a big deal? " I sneered.
"Your chain of casinos is the top tier in the whole west, sir. It is a big deal for them to know that your company and a ruthless businessman like you have been bribed for billions. "
I clicked my neck. "I wasn’t bribed. I gave it voluntarily. You think I’m a top-tier business man for no reason? "
"With all due respect, Mr. Spencer, that is not how investment works. They lost a percentage of their shares. It will have a massive effect in the future."

I swallowed. These stupid facts are making me lose my common sense. I had no idea that money could make me anxious. For me, money is never a big deal.

I had no choice. They wanted to use my business, so I let them. Not because I lack the resources to help them, but because I don't want Jade to learn that I am aware of their plans.

I calmly suggested, "Can we do that, settle it, make it seem like a hoax, take the loss from my personal account before we gather for a general assembly?" He nodded.

See? That's simple. I have no issues with these material possessions. But whenever we're discussing Jade, I always start to lose it.

I poured a glass of rum for myself and downed it all in one go. From here, I could see the entire city. The moon then reappears as usual, casting its light across the entire city.

In my head, I cursed. My telephone rang. As soon as I saw Jade's name flash on the phone, my eyes quickly grew softer. I responded while continuing to observe the moon.
"Hi baby," I said with a hoarse voice.
"Beau," she said, as if she'd just gotten out of bed.
"Hmm?"
"I didn’t receive any messages from you. You said you'd text me when you got home."
Oh damn. Her angelic voice. She makes me so damn smitten with her.
"Because I’m not yet home, baby."
"What? It's already past midnight. Are you that busy to not go home yet? " She sounded mad, shocked and worried at the same time.
"Yes, baby. So damn tired. " I whispered.
She didn’t answer.
"I miss you," I couldn't help myself.
"We saw each other yesterday, Beau."
"I want to see you," I said.
"Do you… want me to come?" She asked submissively.

I tightly closed my eyes. No, she must get some rest. I love it when I submit to her, but I also want her when she is this submissive to me.

I remarked, "We'll catch up tomorrow." Thankfully, I was still in control of myself.

She laughed, "Okay, I'll give you lots of kisses tomorrow."

I grinned, but my heart hurt so much.

"Please go home now. You sound so tired. You need to rest, Knight. "

My body grew weaker. I had watery eyes. Fvck.

Never before have people shown me such love. They always see me as the person who is strong. But Jade always notices when I'm at my worst. She will know even if I don't say anything.

“Beau,” she called me again.

I calmed myself by swallowing the throbbing pressure in my throat.

I replied, "Okay, baby. You know, I'll do whatever you tell me to.

She chuckled. “I'll see you tomorrow, so go to bed now.”

She says it so sweetly, "Hmkay, see you."

I mumbled, "I love you."

Before she ended the call, I could hear breathing.
