Ruin You
Following breakfast, we went to the waterfront. Actually, I had to find something to do to divert the conversation from jealousy. So while he’s taking a bath, I decided to go to the shore and settled for just walking and damping my feet. After taking a bath, he joined us as well.
He's now sporting board shorts and a muscle tee. His hair is a little bit damp still.
He questioned, "You don't want to swim?”
I realized I was staring at him, and I averted my eyes. I shook my head and then replied.
You're forgetting that I grew up in the city, so I responded, "No, I can't swim.
He said, "I can teach you."
I sighed. “I'm fine, so maybe another time.”
“Yes, we'll return to this location.”
My vision froze. I didn't know how to react to that, so I made the decision to simply distance myself from him. He followed me as expected. He followed my tentative steps.
Without turning to face him, I questioned, "When did you purchase this villa?"
“Not for too long,”
You bring your women here, right?
He murmured, "You're the only one I bought here."
My strides halted. Again, I didn't know what to say in response. Oh my Jade! What is going on with you? You're usually witty in situations like this. Why are you acting this way now?
I was fvcked up by my internal turmoil. Fortunately, he couldn't see how lost I was because I had my back to him.
"You’re frequent in this place?"
He replied, "No, just when I feel like it. I prefer the city.
I blinked. “I like it better here.”
“Then I like it better here.”
I immediately turned my attention to him. His sudden strike made it impossible for me to conceal my confusion. He has a grin that clearly shows he is amused. I rolled my eyes and once more walked away from him.
I'm annoyed by the way he treats me in some way. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something really irritates me. Maybe because I find him confusing. Or perhaps it's because I can't read his true thoughts because his words and deeds don't match.
So, I'm perplexed. If he continues to act in such a complicated manner, I'm not sure what I will do next.
I inquired, "Where are your parents?"
I stopped once more and faced him after hearing nothing from him. His jaw is clenched, and his lips are pursed. That's right, I'm doing it again.
You don't need to respond because "I didn't think about it" and "It's alright."
"My mother, I haven't seen her since. My father is dead."
My lips split. I didn't anticipate him to respond to that. I have a sudden sense of guilt.
I nearly mumbled, "I'm sorry."
”You are not required to.”
I lightly smiled while desperately averting his gaze.
“Can I ask the same question to you?" he asked sternly.
My mind was tangled in knots. My wit told me to say yes so he wouldn't question me or anything, but my ego tells me to say no. Nobody should be aware of that aspect of my life.
I said without much thought, "They're gone."
His eyes softened and became watchful.
I continued, "That's all I could say."
”Since it is accurate. My father also passed away after my mother passed away. Even when my mother was alive, he was never there, so when she passed away, I felt as though I also lost a father.”
He now said, "I'm sorry.”
I shook my head and grinned. I repeated his last words, "You don't have to."
We made the decision to head back to the villa for some rest when the sun rose at the beach. I waited for him to do something on his own while I sat on the couch, but he just joined me there.
I gave him a wary look.
”Do you not have any errands to run?”
He averted his gaze. “I came here to rest, not for anything.”
“Yes, but please make time for your own interests.”
His head cocked. "I came here to spend some time with you and to get away from work as well," she said.
I stopped talking. He gave me the side-eye.
“Are you possibly shoving me away?"
My eyes slightly widened. "N-no, just wondering," you say.
Then cease speculating because I intend to spend the remainder of my time with you.
I let out a long sigh and turned my attention to the television. Jade, keep your attention on the end result and the cost. I believe I'm so preoccupied with other things that I've lost sight of why I'm here.
The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging and kissing on the couch. I didn't realize I had taken a nap. The TV's sound was the only thing that woke me up.
I noticed that I was lying on Beau's legs when I opened my eyes. I sat and started to apologize because I didn't realize I had already fallen asleep, but the news distracted me.
Unprecedented typhoon strikes a nation close to the Pacific Ocean. A brief flash report was given. Videos of a country that had been devastated by the catastrophe flashed by quickly. I can't stand by and enjoy the sweltering heat of the sun while those people are suffering. There wasn't much rain where I am. However, those nations that experience natural disasters are helpless to stop it.
I entered the numbers on the phone and made a note of the headers so I could later search for the data online.
“Why are you doing that?”
My focus turned to Beau. Right, I almost didn't notice he was there with me. His eyes are ferocious and perceptive.
I replied and kept typing on my phone, "I'm taking notes so I can donate later."
He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I felt it. My heart started to beat faster as soon as he rest his chin on my shoulders. I find that I'm forced to stop what I'm doing.
He kissed my cheeks and whispered, "Are you trying to impress me? If yes, then it's effective."
My brows drew in. “I couldn't just lie here, relax, and do nothing because those people are in desperate need. This is not how I impress men, Beau.”
He hummed, "Uh-huh." I apologize for misinterpreting your sympathy.
I disregarded him.
"I'll donate as well.”
I gave him a sneer. “I don't want you to feel like you're wasting your money on something that's pointless to you, so please don't feel like you have to force yourself to do it.”
“No, I'm not doing this out of my ego, like what you think of me, Jade. You have no idea how much I've wasted my wealth for pointless things.”
I furrowed my brow.
He grinned, "You can ask Blanco, he knows.”
I rolled my eyes, absolving him of responsibility.
“I'm a wolf; I'm not a saint; I'm ruthless.”
I halted and paid attention to his somber statement. I fixed my gaze on his face.
He sighed and said, "Maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but all I know is that you inspire me to be this version of myself.
I squinted. The pounding of my heart was too loud for me to ignore.
He said, as if trying to convince himself, "I'm too bad for you. I'm never good for you."
The tightening pressure in my throat made me gulp. Unconsciously, I placed my palm against his angular jaw.
I want to let you go, but I also want to keep you to myself. “What am I supposed to do? I'll only ruin you.”
His face caught my attention; it was etched with longing, desperation, and rage. I gave a small, sincere smile that I thought was genuine.
I muttered, "Then I'll let you ruin me."
He shook his head and tightly shut his eyes.
"Jade, you have no idea what I am capable of doing to you."
“Then it's my pleasure to know,” I mumbled once more as my lips came dangerously close to his.
He repeatedly clenched his jaw. I gave him a heartfelt smile and rubbed his face.
He said, "Fvck fate," before attacking my lips.
