Sieta

**Current time Gregovivk Palace**

“Christ, this is madness!” The serious blonde next to Sieta observes from the balcony of the mansion, watching Mabel sitting on a wooden bench on the lawn, staring at the lake.
“This is Sodom, Baby, you know that very well.” Sieta takes a drag from her cigarette and breathes deeply, scanning the property and noticing some of Ramsés’ men patrolling the perimeter.
She had told Baby everything, not leaving out any details about what Greg and I discovered, how Mabel got to him, his suspicions when he noticed that she behaved differently from the other submissives, and Ramsés' file.
“And I thought Freire was the only cold bitch in Sodom. Now I see Morgana is three times worse, inventing this bullshit about the Messalina order, training children to be treated like gift objects, Christ!”
“Greg thinks there might be someone else involved, that the initial idea came from Freire, and Morgana polished it, but there’s a third hidden person, the real mastermind.”
“Damn, just when I think I’ve seen everything in Sodom!” Baby rubs her face and sighs. “Counselors are starting to kill each other; I still can’t believe they killed Sebastian...”
I fall silent, recalling the photo Ramsés sent to my phone. The shot hit Sebastian in the throat and exited through the back of his neck. Ramsés had left some men to keep an eye on Sebastian and Macro; they were patrolling from a distance when they returned to check on the two and noticed the house’s door had been broken in, with the window glass shattered. There were footprints in the back, likely from Macro when he fled. Czar and Ramsés had been after the boy since Sunday, when I warned my cousin, until the moment the woman following Mabel called, asking for help.
I was in the butcher's office when the phone rang. Czar ran out like a madman upon hearing that Mabel was involved. By the end of the night, Ramsés had come to pick me up in Sodom and brought me to the mansion. I hadn’t returned since Aunt Melissa’s death. The mansion had remained closed after Czar left it, but this was where he brought Mabel, along with a group of Ramsés’ security guards, who patrol the residence. When I arrived here on Monday night, Jonathan and his wife, Baby, and her husband were already at the mansion. Mabel was in the bedroom, sleeping, with my mother taking care of her, while Greg was talking in the office, behind closed doors, with Jonathan, Ramsés, and Baby’s husband. Mabel was shaken; my mother said she had to give her a sedative. Sebastian's boy had gone after her and died in front of her. I warned Greg that it was time to tell Mabel the truth, but he didn’t listen.
“I’ve never seen Czar like this,” Baby murmurs, pointing in the direction of the bench where Mabel is.
I turn my face and spot the big man walking with his hands in his pockets toward the bench where Mabel is.
“He’s in love, completely surrendered to her...” I whisper, watching the distant scene of the two, unaware of our eyes on them. “Vulnerable enough to cause a huge mess to keep her safe.”
“Why do you say that?” Baby crosses her arms and leans against the railing, turning her face toward me.
“The guy who was killed yesterday was supposed to be taken as evidence before the Sodom council,” I murmur, watching Czar sit on the bench and lift Mabel into his arms, placing her on his lap. “Without the guy, Mabel is the only living proof we have, since the others have unknown whereabouts...”
“Sodom will want to act...” Baby realizes what will happen and looks worried in their direction. “Even if Jonathan and Ramsés are against it, along with Czar protecting her, there’s still the risk of the others wanting to clean up the mess... There has to be another way we can prove the truth...”
“Freire is dead, Sebastian is dead, just like Macro...”
“Cover-up,” Baby murmurs, sadly.
“Besides Ramsés’ dossier, Greg doesn’t have any more living proof of what Morgana is doing, apart from Mabel.” I turn to look at her. “And he won’t use her.”
I’m sure of that. Greg refused to take her before the council when only his chair was at stake due to Morgana’s slander. If he protected her then, now, with her life at stake, Czar would never take the risk.
