“ Seriously , what is the head of the Morningstar clan doing surrounded by humans ?! “ said Damon .

“ I don’t think that’s any of your business . “ said Lion .

“ Of course it is my business .  In the end , you are still a vassal of mine . “ said Damon smirking .

Lion clenched his fists again annoyed .

“ Move from the door first , I have to place her in her bed first .  “ said Damon .

Lion opened the door to her room as he entered inside and gently placed Daphne on the bed , taking off her jacket and shoes .  Lion looked at him shocked . He couldn’t believe that someone as arrogant as Damon was taking off the shoes of a simple girl . His expression filled with care as he looked at her made Lion’s blood boil from jealousy .

“ Your highness , don’t you have the Golden Moon ritual next month where you are going to marry your destined bride ?….Why pay so much attention to Daphne ? A simple normal human ? “ asked Lion .

Damon laughed as he walked closer to him .

“ Then , why do you , the heir to the Morningstar devil clan pay attention to her , a simple human ? “ said Damon .

“ Unlike you I am not bound by anything and have the power to choose who will be by my side for the rest of my life . I understand it is hard to marry someone you do not know or want but given the status you hold and having three powerful vassal clans like us seems quite fair . “ said Lion .

Damon clenched his fists angrily this time . He hated the idea of having to marry someone like a deal but he knew that he had to do it if be wished to save his parents . He was left with no choice but to surrender to the curse .

At that moment the doctor entered and immediately started to check on Daphne .

“ How is she ? “ asked Damon .

“ She fainted because of stress and fatigue . More because of stress I would say but overall she is alright . I will later place an IV on her . She should wake up after some rest . “ said the doctor .

The professor entered inside and asked the doctor . When he heard that she was alright , he sighed relieved .

“ I am sorry your highness . I just wanted to make sure she is okay because I need to inform the parents about it . It’s mandatory from my  position as the professor . “ said the professor .

Damon nodded his head agreeing with his reason .

“ I shall stay here and look after her . “ said Lion .

“ As the host it is my responsibility to make sure you are all right . since this happened , I will look after her . “ said Damon .

“ I am sure his highness has much more important things to do .  Plus as her friend , I am sure she would like me to look after her more than a stranger . “ said Lion with a warm smile .

“ Lion is right your highness . We can’t bother you . Lion and Daphne have always been close . “ said the professor .

Despite feeling angry he knew that it would be unreasonable for a high position person like him to take care of a simple student with no special background . He looked at Daphne and turned his back , going out of the room .  Lion smiled pleased at him leaving and sat down next  to Daphne’s bed .  He held her hand , feeling her warmth .

Damon stormed inside his office angrily making Daria flinch .

“ Did you send someone to check the information about the whereabouts of the hacker ? “ said Damon .

“ Yes , they are on their way . “ said Daria nervously smiling .

‘ He looked pleased when he left . What made him so angry ? ‘ thought Daria confused .

“ It sounded like that damn Morningstar heir knew something related to that hacker . “ said Damon annoyed as he sat down his desk .

Daria didn’t say anything more as she could feel the anger in his voice .

“ Alright ! I shall go to the company tonight and check the situation myself .  “ said Daria .

“ There’s no need for that . I will have them fire most of them . They are useless . “ said Daphne .

After some hours passed , butler Arnold came to Daphne’s room .

“ Lord Lion , your father couldn’t reach you and asked us to reach you . “ said Arnold . 

Lion sighed realising that he had kept his phone turned off ever since they came here because he didn’t want to be disturbed by them . He couldn’t ignore his father’s calling and got up from his seat .

“ Also , there is no need for you to come tonight anymore . The patient needs rest without anyone around . The doctor’s words , lord Lion . “ said Arnold with a smile . 

Lion looked at him doubtfully thinking that Damon had told him to say this but from another perspective he saw the sky had turned dark already and decide to go back .

‘ I will protect you . Forever ! ‘ thought Lion with a hurt expression on his face seeing her laying in the bed .

After he left , the doctor came in to check on Daphne again . At that moment Daphne rubbed her eye and finally opened them . When she got up , she saw an iv attached to her .

“ Oh , you are finally awake ? “ said the doctor .

“ I am sorry but…..What is going on ? “ asked Daphne confused .

“ It’s normal for you to feel a big puzzled when you just woke up . You fainted from stress and overworking .  “ said the doctor .

After the doctor said that , Daphne remembered everything and how she was dealing with the hacker situation in Damon’s office .

‘ ….I am used to overworking . I was worried but I didn’t think I was stressed to the point of fainting . Unbelievable…. ‘ thought Daphne holding her head with her hand to check whether she had a fever or not .

“ Doctor , I am used to overworking . I have never fainted before because of working . “ said Daphne . 

“ I also told his highness that your reason for fainting is likely extreme stress . Is there anything worrying you lately , lady Daphne ? “ said the doctor . 

Daphne couldn’t voice her trouble out and simply nodded her head . Realising that she did not want to disclose the situation to him , he simply nodded his head . 

“ Just try to relax . I am sure that whatever is troubling you will be solved once your mind is at peace . Mental health is quite important . “ said the doctor . 

“ Thank you doctor ! “ said Daphne . 

“ No worried lady Daphne . His highness asked me to pay extra care to you . He looked anxious when you fainted and that was a rare sight for me . I shall let you get some more rest . Good night lady Daphne . “ said the doctor . 

“ Good night doctor ! “ said Daphne still with a puzzled face by his words . 

After he left , Daphne wondered about his words and blushed lightly at the thought of him feeling anxious for her . But soon even that was forgotten when she caught a glimpse of her phone , that immediately reminded her of the reality she lived in . 

“ I have to come up with a solution . I can’t just stand by and do nothing…..But….where do I get that much money ?! “ said Daphne worried .

She felt she should suffocate if she didn’t get some fresh air and  went out to the balcony . She had never went to the balcony before . Only when she opened the door , she was amazed by the beautiful view of the garden that left her speechless. 

‘ ….The moonlight shining on the white roses makes them look like him….enchanting . The draw you in but the distance between us is enough to get me killed if I were to ever try and jump from here…..not to mention the thorns that surround that rose . ‘ thought Daphne lost in thoughts .
