“ I should have added the prevention of bullying clausal when I made the deal . “ said Daphne .  

“ Too late for that . “ said Damon .  

Daphne looked at him displeased . Her grumpy face made Damon chuckle . 

‘ She looks like a cute baby bat right now . ‘ thought Damon to himself .  

“ You really enjoy bulling me , don’t you ? “ said Daphne . 

“ Why would you say that ? “ asked Damon with a smile . 

“ Seriously ? Look at these documents I had to deal with today .  Not to mention ten translations . “ said Daphne .  

“ I see that you got your fair share of energy for doing such a great job . “ said Damon seeing the empty dessert plates on her desk .  

“ Why are you here ? “ asked Daphne without caring much because she was used to having a messy desk when she had a lot of work to finish . 

“ What do you mean why I am here ? This is my office . “ said Damon . 

Daphne looked at him with a dumbfounded expression on her face . Damon pointed at his desk and she gulped nervously . Due to all the work , she had forgotten that she was in his office and thought that it was the same as previously when she had a private space to work .  seeing the messy table with the dessert plates and finished cans of cola , she sighed .  

“ Did you enjoy the desserts ? “ asked Damon .  

Daphne gulped again nervously wondering why she was either startled or embarrassed when she was with him . 

“ They were delicious . You should try them too . “ said Daphne .  

Damon laughed as he put his jacket down . 

“ I certainly will . “ said Damon .  

“ You look in a good mood . “ said Daphne slightly surprised seeing him smiling .  

“ Am I ? “ asked Damon .  

He looked at her messy desk and her standing there with a smile , finding the sight of Daphne being beside him quite relaxing and making him happy to the point of smiling unconsciously .



“ I wanted to tell you something . “ said Daphne . 

“ What ? Since I am in a good mood , I will be tolerant with your harsh speech . “ said Damon .  

“ Do you have to ruin the good mood when I am trying to be polite ?! “ said Daphne . 

“ Ha ha ha ! Alright , continue .  what do you wanna tell me ? “ asked Damon .  

Daphne took a deep breath and looked at him .  

“ I want to thank you for everything . Thank you for helping my family with their debt issue and….with all the new house equipment , gadgets and furniture . Thank you very much ! I promise that I will work hard until I have repaid my debt . “ said Daphne with a smile .  

Damon looked at her and at the files she had finished behind her .  He could see that she had worked hard today to finish her job . 

‘ I could restrain her with the debt so that she can always be here and never leave……but Daria is already gathering the clan for the ceremony .  I can at least keep her by my side for two years . That should be enough to get rid of this feeling of attraction that I feel towards her .  ‘ thought Damon to himself with a helpless smile .  

He wasn’t used to the taste of helplessness but with Daphne he felt it .  

“ …Apart from the debt money , just think of the other things as gifts for helping me solve the issue with the hacker . “ said Damon .  

“ That….wasn’t something that deserved that much of a gift . “ said Daphne .  

“ You saved me the trouble of searching for those company classified papers and trying to protect my new business projects which in total are worth two billions . “ said Damon .  

“ But…. “ said Daphne still feeling troubled at the thought of owing him . 

“ If I still haven’t gone bankrupt with Daria’s huge luxury shopping addiction , then it means that nothing will make me go bankrupt and my wealth will continue to grow with my new investments . “ said Damon .  

Daphne smiled and decided to accept it after hearing about Daria .  

“ Are you trying to flaunt that you are rich ? “ said Daphne sarcastically . 

“ I am just saying the truth . “ said Damon smiling .  

Daphne sighed as she grabbed the files and placed them on his desk . 

“ I finished all of the document that Arnold placed on my desk . “ said Daphne . 

She turned again to take the translation files and place on those files on the desk . When she took the file , she accidentally pushed one of the plates on the floor , breaking it . She tried to catch it but ended up cutting her finger .  

Damon hurried to check on her hand held Daphne’s hand , looking at the blood coming from the cut on her finger .  

‘ The smell of her blood……is so sweet….It’s….Irresistible ! ‘ thought Damon to himself unable to bear the urge to tase her blood .  

He held her hand and placed her bleeding finger in his mouth .  Daphne opened her eyes shocked . She couldn’t believe how things turned out this way . 

“ What…What are you doing ? “ asked Daphne with her cheeks blushing .  

“ ….Disinfection . “ said Damon . 

Damon felt her blood was really sweet and delicious .

‘ I want more…. ‘ thought Damon to himself as he lost his rationality to his vampire senses .  

Daphne looked at him flushed as he stared at her right in the eyes with the expression of a hunter . He suck the bleeding and started to lick her finger while keeping her eyes on her . Daphne had a weird warm feeling inside her , like a a bunch of butterflies on her stomach with her heart racing . She gathered her thoughts and messy feelings together and pushed him away . 

“ I….think it’s alright now . “ said Daphne .  

Damon wiped the corner of his lip and nodded his head . he sat down his seat and started to I look through the documents .  The weird atmosphere disappeared by Damon’s surprise as he read the files and the translations .  

“ You did an excellent job by finishing all of them within today . How did you translate these ?  “ said Damon amazed at her speed and accuracy . 

“ I am fluent in foreign languages . “ said Daphne .  

Damon looked at her surprised by this .  

‘ Every day is a new discovery with her .  I wonder how many other abilities she has that she is keeping hidden . ‘ thought Damon .  

He raised his eyes and noticed Daphne’s uncomfortable expression . Damon annoyingly clenched the file , thinking that she hated his gesture because it was done by him . 

‘ Would you show such an uncomfortable expression if Lion had done it ? ‘ thought Damon to himself feeling angry .  

“ Why do you look so uncomfortable ? “ said Damon clenching his fists .  

“ I……..The plate… “ said Daphne .  

“ The plate ? “ asked Damon a bit lost .  

“ Well , does that plate cost a lot .  I see the golden decoration . Those…..aren’t real gold , are they ? “ said Daphne nervous as she awaited for the answer .  

Damon looked at her dumbfounded as he realised how off mark he was .
