“ Where are you going ? “ asked Daria . 

“ Didn’t you tell me that I could enjoy myself . “ said Damon .  

“ Sure ! But only after you have dances with each of your candidates for future bride . “ said Daria . 

“ Seriously ? “ said Damon with a tired expression .  

“ Should I remind you who is the one that has been responsible too clean after your mess into keeping good relations with the other clans because someone was just too lazy to do it ?! “ said Daria with an angry smile , making Damon give up . 

“ Will you leave me alone after one dance ? “ asked Damon . 

“ One dance with each other them . After that , do everything you want , apart from hurting Daphne or you are getting it from me . “ said Daria raising her fist with a scary smile .  

Damon nodded his head and went towards Freya who was with Leah and Chloe . 

“ Lady Freya , might I have this dance ? “ asked Damon .  

Freya blushed as she nodded her head shyly . Leah felt happy for her while Chloe looked at them jealous .  

“ After lady Freya , I would like to invite lady Leah and lady Chloe for a dance as well . “ said Damon .  

“ I would be more than delighted , your highness . “ said Chloe with a charming smile .  

“ Certainly , your highness . “ said Leah with a faint smile .  

Damon held Freya’s hand and started to dance with her while Chloe and Leah patiently waited for their turn . After finishing dancing with Freya , Damon held Leah’s hand and danced the next song with her . When he finished with Leah it was Chloe’s turn . 

‘ I will make you unable to think of anything else but me after this dance , your highness . ‘ thought Chloe to herself as she held his hand and started to dance .  

Damon was getting bored of the dances but the single thought that this was the last dance , kept him going . 

“ Your highness , dancing with you is like a dream come true . “ said Chloe with her cheeks blushing .  

Damon nodded his head with a smile like a gentleman . 

‘ This is the way that girls look at me…..Why doesn’t she look at me like this ? Her gaze….her beautiful eyes…..are the only image that appear in my head even though the girl standing before me is much better and much powerful in’ position in comparison to her . Why is my gaze only searching for her in this crowded place ? ‘ thought Damon to himself as he looked around trying to catch a glimpse of Daphne . 

When he finally found her , he frowned angrily as he noticed that she was dancing with Lion . 

“ Your highness ? “ asked Chloe confused when she noticed that he was looking at someone but because she had her back at the crowd , she couldn’t see anything .

Daria noticed that Damon was about to do something reckless and immediately followed him once the music ended and he finished his dance with Chloe . 

Lion looked around to find Daphne and finally manage to catch a sight of hers when she was at the buffet .  

“ Beautiful butterfly , will you allow me to have this dance ? “ asked a familiar voice from behind .  

Daphne turned her head with a surprised expression . She didn’t expect to see Lion standing behind her .  

“ Lion ?…What are you doing here ? “ asked Daphne surprised .  

“ I made you a promise and I want to keep that promise . “ said Lion .

Daphne’s heart started to race as she remembered the words that Lion told her before he left . 

‘ Ana has filled my head with crazy ideas ! That troublemaker ! ‘ thought Daphne to herself as she tried to keep her nervousness and blushing face in check .

Daphne held his hand and they headed for the dance floor . 

“ You look stunning tonight . “ said Lion .  

“ Thank you ! You look very handsome as well . “ said Daphne .  

“ I am honoured . “ said Lion as the both of them laughed .  

Lion looked at her intensively , making Daphne slightly shy . 

“ Your smile….is enough to make me day brighter . When you are sad , I am sad too . when you are happy , I am even more happy . When I am down or in a dilemma , you are always there to cheer me up .  You are the most amazing person I have ever met . Not only are you beautiful , you are kindhearted too . A combination that is hard to find , making you a special girl . I feel incredible jealous just thinking of all the guys staring at you tonight . Daphne , I want you to be my special girl . I like you Daphne . I like you a lot . I want you to be my girlfriend Daphne . What do you say ? Do you like me Daphne ?   “ said Lion with his cheeks blushing a little . 

Daphne felt the butterflies in the stomach . She has had a crush on Lion for a while and to hear him say that he likes her made her heart skip a beat . Even the music had stopped for them but before she could say anything , Damon held her hand .  

“ May I ? “ asked Damon but without even waiting for an answer , he pulled her towards himself and started to dance the next song while Daria held Lion’s hand . 

“ I am the centre of the ball today so you can’t reject dancing . “ said Daria .  

“ You are doing this on purpose to separate me from Daphne . “ said Lion annoyed . 

“ Mmmm…..yeah ! I kinda promised my brother that he could enjoy his time with her tonight .  Since he is been a good boy and has followed my request to dance with his candidates , he deserves an award . “ said Daria .  

“ That doesn’t mean that he can butt in when I just confessed and didn’t get an answer to my confession . I am sorry your highness but even if you are the centre of today’s ball , I will stop dancing and go after Daphne . Please find another partner . “ said Lion .  

Daphne laughed a little as she held his hand even tighter .  

“ I better suggest you stay put unless you want my brother to find out what your dear cousin Leah has been up to lately . “ said Daria .  

Lion looked at her shocked as Lucifer made every arrangement for everything to remain in complete secrecy . 

“ How… “ said Lion so shocked that even his words were finding it hard to come out . 

“ Nothing escaped my watch . I know everything about every single one of the clan leaders .  “ said Daria rotating around him as Lion pulled her towards himself . 

“ So you are spying on us ? “ said Lion annoyed .  

“ No , I am interested in spying on you , nor am I worried about a rebellion . The only thing I am worried about is my brother’s marriage partner . Just pray that your cousin isn’t chosen cause if she is…. “ said Daria as she rotated around once more then leaned on his chest approaching his face close to her ear . 

“ Why haven’t you said anything to Damon ? “ asked Lion , doubting whether he had something else up her sleeves . 

“ …I didn’t want to make him angry nor have your cousin get killed before we know who his bride will be . I also have a feeling that she won’t be his bride . If she isn’t chosen I will talk with Lucifer to spare her , if she is chosen then she is….dead meat . “ said Daria with a smile .  

‘ How can an enchanting smile like hers be so dangerous ?! Daria Nigrescent……you really are not an easy woman at all . ‘ thought Lion to himself .
