“ Hard work is always paid off . Just like Daphne’s hard work was paid off by officially becoming the personal assistant of duke Damon .  He was amazed at how precise and detailed her work was that he did not waste any minute in recruiting her with a salary up to sixty thousand dollar monthly . “ said the professor in a proud tone .  

All the students looked at the Daphne shocked and amazed .

“ What ? “ asked Lion shocked when he heard the professor’s words .  

“ …Surprise ? “ said Daphne trying to laugh her way out of the situation but Lion and Ana wouldn’t let her alone .  

She sighed helplessly realising that she had to tell the truth . 

“ Let’s go to the garden and talk . I promise , I will tell you everything . “ said Daphne looking at their pressuring expressions . 

Lion and Ana had already finished their work and went with Daphne to the garden . when they sat down . Daphne started to tell them the whole story . Lion and Ana were shocked when they looked at her .  

“ I don’t know how to feel .  I am happy that your family’s debt was solved but I am not so sure about you working for that handsome duke .  “ said Ana .  

“ Weren’t you his fan ? “ said Daphne with a smile .  

“ I still am his fan but he has a lot of work on his plate .  I don’t want you to faint again from overworking . Even though you are a workaholic bookworm , when it starts affecting your health , I will step in and stop you . You honestly have the worst addictions of all . “ said Ana with a serious look on her face , making Daphne smile happily from her worry . 

Lion on the other hand clenched his fists annoyed .  

“ Why didn’t you tell me anything ? I could have given you the amount of money you needed , even more if you just had told me .  Why did you have to accept the offer of someone whom you call a creep ? “ said Lion annoyed .  

Daphne glanced at Ana who was disappointed as well that she hadn’t told them about such an important matter .  

“ Lion…..the amount of money needed….was a lot more than I could ever afford to pay back even if somehow you two find the way to lend me that money . I knew that you two would never leave me alone in this situation but I wouldn’t want to be a burned to you . Thankfully the duke offered his held and right now is dealing with the fraudster . “ said Daphne .  

She held Ana and Lion’s hand with a warm smile .  

“ Just the thought that you are worried about me…….means more than anything to me . “ said Daphne . 

Lion looked at her feeling quite irritated just at the thought that she would have to work as Damon’s personal assistant for two years.  

‘ That old bat must have done this on purpose . Just what is he trying to do ?!…….It is my fault as well for hiding my identity from her . If I had told her that I come from a wealthy family , that bastard wouldn’t have had the chance to get her to be his personal assailant .  ‘ thought Lion angry .  

Daphne could see that he was very bothered by this .

“ Don’t worry . The duke isn’t as bad as I thought . Sure he is annoying but I will just deal with work and not him . “ said Daphne .  

“ Daphne……I come from a wealthy family . I could have easily helped you . “ said Lion .  

Daphne and Ana looked at each other laughing . 

“ Yeah ! If you are wealthy Lion , I am a princess . “ said Ana .  

“ Let’s be realistic Lion . Why would someone born in wealth need to work at a convenience store in a mall ?…….I appreciate that you want to make me feel better .“ said Daphne . 

Lion sighed with a forced smile . He never thought that his words would be so hard to believe .  

“ I didn’t work at a convenience store . I was there to oversee the place as the manager because my family owns the mall . “ said Lion .  

Daphne looked at him confused as Ana shook her hand .   

“ No way .  I saw you wearing the worker’s uniform one day at the luxury Dior store . “ said Ana .  

“ My big brother decided to punish me to work as a salesperson for a month . “ said Lion .  

“ …..I still don’t believe you . “ said Ana .  

“ Haaaaa…..are you two for real now ? “ said Lion annoyed seeing their eyes filled with doubt .  

At that moment butler Arnold came close to them with a smiling fae that irritated Lion even more .  

“ I heard from the professor that you would be here . If you have finished your pleased conversation , I need lady Daphne to come with me . There’s something important I must discuss with you . “ said Arnold .  

“ Sure ! See you later guys . Thanks to you I feel much better now . “ said Daphne waving at them with a smile .  

As she left with the butler , the professor asked Ana to come inside and help him with carrying some materials . Despite feeling extremely lazy , with no choice left , she followed his order . Lion raised his gaze and saw Daria passing by the corridor at the second floor .  He looked around and clicked his fingers , immediately teleporting to her . With the rest of the students being on the first floor , there was no danger for them talking freely .

“ What do you two think you are doing Lion ? “ asked Daria . 

“ I should be the one to ask you that question . What do you think you and your brother are doing to Daphne ? “ said Lion .  

“ So you got the news . That’s good . Now you won’t bother her anymore . “ said Daria .  

Lion clenched his fists annoyed .  

“ Your brother is going to hold the Golden Moon ceremony to find his bride . What does he want by paying so much attention to a simple human girl ? “ said Lion annoyed .  

“ My brother has worked hard and diligently following hid duty . He has earned himself the right to enjoy himself before his bride is chosen . I am overseeing their ‘ friendship ‘ personally as to not have any obstacles being born . “ said Daria .   

“ Friendship ?….Who are you trying to fool ? Don’t tell me you can’t see the way he looks at her . The way he is craving for her . That is not the way you look at a friend . “ said Lion . 

Daria clenched her fists as she knew that he was right .  She had noticed that as well but tried to convince herself that it was only because she had a special smell emitting from her . 

“ Tell your brother to leave her alone and cancel the position of personal assistant . “ said Lion with an authoritative tone that made Daria realise the immense jealousy behind his annoyed tone .  

“ He he he ! This is interesting . “ laughed Daria realising he was serious .  

“ What ? “ asked Lion .  

“ Do you really think you can marry her ? A human ? The Morning star head will never allow it . “ said Daria .  

“ I can actually . I am not forced by any promise or curse to marry someone , neither am I obligated to take care of the heir position of the Morningstar clan . I am powerful enough to make my own rules….Now , either you tell your brother to revoke his order while I am still speaking nicely or I will personally take Daphne away . “ said Lion angry .

“ Was that a threat ? “ said Daria .  

“ I call it clarification since he seems to have his mind clouded by conveying something that belongs to someone else . “ said Lion .  

Daria smirked devilishly as she walked closer to him with her eyes changing into a deep red colour .  the pressure emitting from her high ranking pure bloodline could be clearly felt . Lions as stronger than ,mos and was able to withhold the pressure but if it were a normal devil , he would have fallen with his face on the ground .  

“ Don’t forget that the vampire clan is the ruling clan Lion Morningstar , not the devil clan . “ said Daria .
