“ That plate’s decorations are made from real gold . One of Daria’s extravagant useless spending . “ said Damon .

Daphne froze instantly as she looked at it scattered on the floor .

“ Oh , by the way , the way , do you know that the chocolate soufflé costs 3,000 USD . “ said Damon with a devilish smirk , wanting to tease her a bit more .

“ WHAT ?!!! A SINGLE ONE ?!!! “ said Daphne shocked .

“ Now that I think about it……..You have eaten quite a lot of them lately which would lead to a total of

“ I….am suddenly feeling very sleepy from all the work I had to do all day .  I…..I am going to sleep . Calm sleep is important for being productive at work . Good night boss ! “ said Daphne with a polite tone and hurrying to get out .

When she opened the door , Daphne bumped into Arnold .  

“ Oh , I am sorry . Good night ! “ said Daphne . 

“ Good night lady Daphne…? “ said Arnold confused as he saw her running away . 

Damon laughed when he saw her like that . 

“ What did you do to the poor girl that she ran away like that ? “ said Arnold .  

Damon showed a devilish smirk as he took the file from his hand .  

“ Just teasing her a little . It has recently become my favourite entertainment . “ said Damon .  

Arnold sighed helplessly , as he looked at the folded behind him .  

“ did she finish all of them ?!! “ asked Arnold shocked .  

“ She did . “ said Damon .  

“ She sure is something . “ said Arnold still in disbelief .  

“ I have never seen such an interesting human before . Everything about her is interesting . “ said Damon .  

Arnold turned his head looking at him with a determined look in his eyes .  

“ Please do not go overboard with the teasing . We can’t afford to lose someone who is so capable . “ said Arnold with a serious expression .  

“ Can’t promise that . “ said Damon with a smile . 

Seeing him smile , Arnold remained even more shocked . 

‘ This person…who rarely smiles has been continuously smiling the past days ?! This is definitely became of Daphne . Just what did she do to him ? ‘ thought Arnold to himself .  

He gulped nervously as he stepped back a few steps .  

“ Boss , are you sure you haven’t fallen victim to a powerful witchcraft ?!…..Maybe Daphne place some kind of witchcraft spell on you . “ said Arnold gulping .  

Damon looked at him dumbfounded when he realised that he was serious in asking this . 

“ Are you dumb ? I can sense anything related to witchcraft if it’s near me . Did you forget who I am ? “ said Damon .  

Hearing Damon , Arnold realised how stupid he was being . His master was the highest ranking vampire and supreme leader of the other clans . Plus , Daphne looked anything but interested in Damon .  

“ I did…..I apologise . “ said Arnold . 

Someone started knocking on the door frantically , making them wonder who it’s was . when Arnold opened the door , he saw that it was Lion .  

“ What do you want lord Lion ? “ asked Arnold with a polite tone yet cold stare , silently making him realise that he wasn’t welcome . 

“ I seek an audience with his highness .  “ said Lion with eyes grilled with anger .  

Arnold glanced at Damon as he raised his hand , giving the permission for him to pass .  

“ What do you want Morningstar ? “ said Damon annoyed by simply looking at him .  

“ Just what game are you playing . I am serious when asking this time . “ said Lion .  

“ You seem rather angry . Is human school too stressful for you ? “ said Damon . 

“ Cut the crap ! You know perfectly well that I am referring to Daphne . Why the hell won’t you leave her alone ? 

“ She needed help . I helped her . Help isn’t for free according to Daphne so I offered her the position of my personal assistant and she accepted . End of story ! Now , get the crap lost . “ said Damon .   

Lion looked at him laughing sarcastically .  

“ Help ? Yeah !….You think I don’t know you . You have been using this damn bet that fell on her family as a way to keep her close to you . “ said Lion .  

“ I just helped , that’s it . “ said Damon .  

“ Don’t fucking joke with me right now . I see the way you look at her . “ said Lion .  

“ How do I look at her ? “ said Damon .  

Lion stared at him angrily . Daria opened the door and came inside as well .  

“ I can hear you shouting from the end of the corridor . What is going on ? “ said Daria . 

She saw Lion and Damon glaring at each other with Arnold tilting his head . 

“ Heh ! This guy may fool you , may fool his right hand man butler but he doesn’t fool me . I am a man that has tasted what love feels like….so I know exactly what you are thinking but you are dead wrong if you think I will allow you to go on with your plan . She is going to be my wife . She is mine .  “ said Lion . 

Damon clenched his fists angrily when he heard Lion declare Daphne as his . He ended up breaking the pen he was holding in his hands . Daria gulped thinking that he was angry becasue of the informal way he was speaking to him while Arnold watched silently becoming even more convinced of Damon’s words . Realising Daria and Arnold were watching him , Damon calmed himself down and showed a playful smirk on his face .  

“ You may claim her as yours but….you two are just friends . “ said Damon .  

“ For now ! “ said Lion .

“ Regardless……Now , she works for me . Oh , right ! Don’t you need to leave tomorrow ? You better go and get your bags ready rather than worry about ‘ MY ‘ personal assistant . “ said Damon with a smirk .  

Lion was about to answer back but Arnold stood in front of him and stopped him .

“ Your king told you to get lost lord Lion . “ said Arnold .  

Lion glared at Damon and walked out furiously .  Daria sighed annoyed at his guts . 

“ That jerk has gotten his head in the clouds . How dare he talk to you like that ? Why are you letting him be brother ?! Give him a good beating . “ said Daria annoyed . 

“ We are soon to hold the ceremony . The Morningstar clan is to participate as well .  I don’t want to have to deal with this disturbance . The ceremony itself is already annoying me . “ said Damon . 

Daria sighed as she knew that he hated the fact that he had to marry someone chosen by the curse . Arnold looked silently at the door and turned towards Damon and Daria .  

“ He dares because of love . You can see the strong love he has for Daphne in his eyes . This love has made him blind with jealousy . “ said Arnold . 

“ That little……I told him clearly that there was nothing for him to be jealous of yet he comes here like a lunatic . Saying I don’t know my own brother . My brother never breaks a promise and I am certain about that . “ said Daria .  

Arnold remembered the flustered expression on Daphne as she left the room and the small cut on her finger . He even noticed Damon caressing the corner of his lip . Despite trusting Damon with his life , he couldn’t help but feel the seed of doubt growing inside of him . 

“ You may return to your rooms . We have to rest for tomorrow . Can’t wait to send that annoying thing out of my castle . “ said Damon as they nodded their head and went back to their rooms .
