CHAPTER 37

AMETHYST'S POV

I couldn't find my comfortable position to sleep because what I saw with mr. Leroy two weeks ago was keeping me awake.

I tightly closed my eyes in annoyance and even bite my lips.

I just have calmed myself and my body muscles first after that.

I even inhaled and exhaled three times.

I thought this can calm me but all of a sudden that one thing of mr. Leroy popped up in my mind again!

What the freak is happening to me?!

I just got up and frustrately scratch my hair in annoyance.

There are nights when I don't even remember that, but why did it come to my mind now?!

This is just so annoying!

I took a slow breath before turning to Bella.

She was already sleeping very soundly.

I fumbled out for my phone on the side table and when I grabbed it I immediately looked at the time.

Oh, darn this! It's past eleven o'clock at night.

My pout just got longer because of this

. I got off the bed first and then I walked into the bathroom because of the pain in my stomach.

Mr. Leroy already explained to me why did he come out naked that time.

He said he forgot his towel and didn't really go out until Pia and I left his unit.

He doesn't even know how he can go out when he doesn't have a towel, if he goes out while we are still there it will be sure weird, awkward and embarrassing.

He thought those knocks and opening and closing of the door were signals that we were already leaving his unit because we were done cleaning.

So, that is why, he went out quickly, but I was there.

What a bad luck.

I was just felt so much awkwardness after that.

I want to avoid sir forever but I can't do anything because I'm working there.

It's a good thing because when we are about to clean his unit, he already leaved and no one was in his unit already.

So everytime we meet each other at the hallway or somewhere else, we avoid each other's eyes and as much as possible we will only meet for a short time.

I didn't tell anyone what happened. I didn't tell Bella, Trev and Pia.

Of course that is very embarrassing! It's better we better keep this as a secret.


I just can't really help but to compare that thing of mr. Adam to what of Aivan.

And because of that, I remember Aivan often.

The edge is this.

Even though it was already a long time ago, that thing of Aivan has been imprinted on my mind! It even seemed like it's still fresh in my mind!


When I am finished using the bathroom, I didn't even think about going back to bed immediately.

I just went to the balcony first, instead.

I arranged the chair here before I sat down.

I just took a deep breath when I remembered again that Aivan has a bigger one than Mr. Leroy.

What the freak am I thinking?!

I just scratched the back of my ear in annoyance.

I just sighed again before looking up at the sky.

I was slightly calmed by the bright and round moon. It was joined by so many stars, a cool breeze and I can also see the Eiffel Tower from here.

I'm not sure if Crystal is still awake now, especially since it's only six in the morning.

It's also Saturday now so I know that Crystal was still sleeping because I know she wants to rest well after a week of class.

I just let myself take in the scenery I see.
Suddenly a question came to my mind.

Can I fall in love again?
When will I be loved again?

"Amy!" I turned to Trev who called my name.

Pia and I stopped because of this.

"I'm going first, huh?" Pia said good bye as the set aside our cleaning materials.

"Yeah, sure." I smiled at her and then Pia entered the girls' dressing room first because we were already going home. Our shift was already over.

Trev was still a bit out of breath when he finally got close to me.

"Oh, why? What do you want?" I raised my left eyebrow as I asker while his hand was holding on my left shoulder.

He blew out a loud breath first.

"I have something to tell you," he said.

I furrowed my forehead because of this.

"What is it?" I straightened up here.

"Oh, I'll just tell you later." Because of this my face was crumpled.

"Why not now?"

"Maybe someone will hear us," he said softly to me as it was about to be whisper.

My eyebrows just met because of this.

"Is it super secret?" I asked here and he nodded for a few times.

I just rolled my eyes because of this.

It was already normal for us to bully each other because he's been my friend for almost six months and super close enough.

"I'm really ashamed," he said with a hand on the back of his head.
I just folded my arms because of this.

"You're still trying to be suspense, huh? Do you want me to hit you hard on your head? Come on tell me what do you want to say?" I pretended to be irritated but the madman just smiled.

"Let's have coffee and then I'll talk about it. My treat," he just said but I just give him a curios face.

"You know that what I hate the most are suspense announcements!" I said this with wide eyes.

"You better get dressed first and then I'll wait for you outside," he just said.

"Hey, wait!" I catch up here.

You know what he did? After he said that, he immediately ran away from me.

What is his problem? What will he say?

But, I'm not nervous at all.

I just went into the dressing room to get changed first and to immediately know what Trev wanted to say.

I'm really curious.

I will home first than Bella because it is still almost two hours before her shift ends. Our shift these past few days were not the same.

When I left the building, I saw Trev waiting for me near the entrance.

He was just focused on his phone so he didn't realize that I was out and already near him.

"Oh, what is that?" I asked immediately when I got close to him.

He immediately stand straight and quickly hid his phone.

When he looked up at me, he smiled so sweetly that I just frowned.

What is the problem? I have been also noticed that he's been acting weird lately.

"Let's have coffee first," he said to me so I just nodded.

Since the cafe is just near here, we just walked to it. It's just a walking distance, tho.

It's just the next building.

"So, what is that?" I immediate asked when he placed our coffee that we have ordered on the table.

I just followed him with my eyes until he sat in front of me.

The madman just smiled.

I already wanted to hit him at this point.

"What is really that?" I asked again here as I scratched the bottom of my ear.

"These past few weeks, your actions are crazy," I added.

His mouth was just looked like as if he wanted to talk a lot but no words want to come out from his mouth.

I was just stunned because of this.

"I'll pour coffee on you if you don't fix yourself, you'll see!" I glared at him so he let out a slow breath.

He even held his chest before he sighed again.

"I-I really don't know how to say this," he began.
I just furrowed my forehead because of this. Waiting for what he will say next.
He just took another deep breath.
I just hit the table because of annoyance.

"Hey, Trev! It's my red days now so you better say that! I'm really going to pour this coffee on you! Why are you still having a suspense effect here!" I said here.

"Okay, fine!" He scratched his ear first.

I opened the coffee he brought to me and then took a sip on it.

"I have something to confess to you." I almost spilled my coffee because of the nervousness.

"What is that?" I just asked here.

"I've been thinking about this a few weeks ago." He even rubbed his palms together.

"I-I really don't know how to say this." He was avoiding looking at me while I was waiting for what he had to say.

"What uhm, what uhm. I-I like her." her? who? My eyebrows met because of this.

On the other hand, I breathed a sigh of relief because he didn't like me.

Because I really only think of Trev as a very close friend of mine.
I don't want us to avoid each other if he like me. I don't want our friendship to be over.

"Who?" I took a sip of my coffee again.

"It's Bella." I just blew out the coffee in my mouth, luckily he avoided it.

I immediately wiped my mouth and quickly looked at him.

"Bella?!" I spluttered and he slowly nodded.

I laughed at this and he scratched the back of his neck.

"I was wondering what you were going to say." I even hit him on his arm lightly.

"Then, you also have a suspense effect there! You know my hormones are different now because of I have," I said while shaking my head.

The madman just grinned.

"Oh, what's wrong?" I just asked here.

"Help me with her. You know? I want to court her like that." I nodded at what he said.

"You're just oh my. That's all you want to say? That's no problem. Basic." I even rubbed my shoulders.

"Hey, why didn't you want to say it earlier?" I asked here.

"Maybe someone will hear," he answered.

"She wasn't in the dressing room earlier. Her shift will just end about an hour now,"

"Maybe someone else will hear." My left eyebrow raised just once.

We came up with the idea of ​​surprising Bella at our apartment to ask her if Trev could court her.

Then she said yes.

The two dated for two months and I served as a bridge between them.

I witnessed their courtship until Bella answered Trev.

I'm so happy for them as they are perfect for each other.

I know that they are both responsible and Trev really deserves someone to be with in life and Bella is the perfect girl for him.

Bella and Trev were currently having a movie marathon when Bella looked at me. "Twin, Trev and I are leaving tonight. Do you want to come?" I looked at her and then I just laughed.
Trev also looked at me.

"Pass. I don't want to be a third wheel. It's just a joke," I said and we just all laughed.

"Please? We're just going for a walk," she said and I just shook my head.

"That's your time as a couple. Also, I'll leave after the movie," I said to her.

"Where are you going?" she asked me with a frown.

"At the mall. I'm running out of make ups. I'll just go shopping, I'll also buy books," I answered with a smile.

She and Trev were next to each other as they hugged and held each other's hands.

"Shall we just go with you?" she even offered so I just laughed again.

"No, thank you," I said firmly.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." I even wide opened my eyes to her.

"Okay, it's up to you." She just shrugged her shoulders and then we returned our attention to what we were watching.

Today is our day off, the three of us took the same day off. Trev was here now at our apartment and also we just finished having lunch.

It's been two months now and they're are still strong and keep going strong which is a very good thing.

They always ask me when I plan to have a boyfriend and I always answer pass.

I don't want to have a boyfriend yet.

I'm not yet ready to love again.

But, I'm happy for them as they are legal on both sides.

"I'll go first, huh?" I said to Bella when I got dressed.

It was already past four in the afternoon and they were still watching.
They looked at me at the same time.

"Maybe when you come back we are not here," Trev said.

"It's okay." I even gave them a thumbs up while smiling.

Bella just smiled.

"Don't you want me to buy something for you, twin?" I asked Bella.

"I think there's none. Thank you!" She even shook her head.

"Oksi doksi," I just said to them while adjusting the two inches heels I was wearing on my feet.

"Alright, just enjoy you two later. I'll go first," I said to them while shaking my blue off shoulder dress that reached down to my knees.

I feel like I wanted to dress like this, tho. Why?

"Okay take care / Alright, be careful, twin!" she and Trev almost speaked at the same time.

"You guys, too!" And I completely left the apartment.

I was walking quietly but suddenly I was startled when someone suddenly grabbed me and pushed me against a car.

I looked up and my eyes widened when I noticed the person who grabbed me.


"Mr. Leroy," I said softly in shock.

His face is so close to me!

"Help me," he just said to me while looking around behind him.

"What, sir?" I just asked here while also looking behind him.

"My ex is here with her friends. I need you to act as my new girlfriend,"

"H-Huh?" This is what I just have to say. Who wouldn't be surprised by that?

"Just, please. I'm begging you," he said tensely so I quickly nodded.

Sir was wearing a quite thick coat so he almost covered me as well.

When I spotted the four women and when they turned to sir. Leroy they slowed their walk a bit.

"Look at me," sir said softly, which is what I did.

I just swallowed when I caught the strange color of his eyes.

Those are Amber in color!

This is how beautiful sir's eyes are up close?! I didn't expect this!

I was a bit taken back when his head tilted as if he is going to kiss me!

"Don't worry, I won't kiss you," he said softly, making me feel very calm.

I simply looked at the girls and saw that the one in the middle was started to get annoyed.

After that, they walked away quickly again.

"I-I think, sir, they are already gone," I said softly and I just swallowed again because when I turned to sir, he was staring at me.

What a strange color of eyes of him!

"Thank you so much," he just said.

He just fix how he stand and then clear his throat while fixing his coat.

"Want some coffee?" Sir just offered me.

"No, sir. Thank you." I smiled a little.

"C'mon, I just want to thank you,"

"Seems you are busy, sir," I politely said.

"I'm done working." I just nodded at what sir said.

"How about you? Are you free?" Sir Leroy's question made me think.

I have nothing to do. I finished shopping for mynmake up and books. I have nothing to do at home either. So...

"Yes, sir." I smiled at him again and he smiled back.

We were on the veranda of a café while there were delicacies and cappuccino coffee on our table.

I felt like I regretted agreeing to go with sir.

We have nothing to talk about, tho.

The ones he ordered are even looked expensive.
I don't know what their names are but you can say that these are expensive.

He was just the one who choose the foods we ordered.

We are just the sipping coffee at the same time while staring at the view.

The sun is about to set, so it's beautiful here.
The wind is also cold.
No one wants to talk.
But there is no awkwardness between us.

He suddenly clear his throat first.

"So, uhm. Where are you from?" I turned to sir at his question.

"I'm from the Philippines, sir," I said proudly, making him nod.

"I heard that country is beautiful,"

"Indeed, sir," I said with a smile.

There are so many things I want to ask sir, but of course I'm shy.

"You want to ask something?" sir just asked after a few moments. He must have noticed that I was quiet but I seemed to want to ask something.

"If it's just fine with you, sir." He laughed at what I said.

"Cut off the formality. You are not in your work. If it is outside like this, you can just call me Adam," he just said with a smile.

"I-I'm sorry, si--- Adam, I mean." He gave me a correction look.

"I don't think if that would be easy, si--- I mean, Adam." I just slowly closed my eyes. I'm not good at it!

"I know you will soon. I know it's pretty ironic that cut off the formality but I'm Adam Leroy." He extended his hand to me. I accepted that and had a shake hands with him.

"I'm Amethyst Ashe Martinez."

"That's a nice name," he said, making me laugh.

"Your name too, sir. It sounds expensive." He just laughed at what I said while shaking his head.

I don't know but because of that laugh I felt a little comfortable.

I thought it was a bit difficult to get along with sir.

"So, what do you wanna know?" he asked.

I just cleared my throat first.

"About the girl earlier? Your ex?" I said slowly because I was hesitating.

Maybe it will be a wrong move.

Sir took a sip of his coffee first.
"She's Ashley. I broke up with her because she cheated. I loved her so much but it turned out that she is a cheater. She has another two boyfriends." My mouth just got partly opened at sir's story.

Even though it was a sensitive topic, he still told it.

It's too much for me to know this especially since we are not really close.

"Also, she is just a gold digger. Now, I just don't mind her." Sir shrugged his shoulders.

"Then why did you ask for my help earlier?" I couldn't stop myself from asking.

"It's been three months since we broke up and that was the last time that I saw her. Maybe I just panicked? Lucky me, you are there. I just act to show that I'm with someone new right now." I just nodded at what sir said.

Okay, he said it's not affected anymore. He said he just got panic.

"That means, after you broke up with her is until now you are not with someone new?" even though it was obvious, I still asked.

"Basically, yes. I am too busy with my passion and career," he answered.

Yeah, it's true, the responsibility of a chief of police is not easy.

"When will you go back to the Philippines?" he just asked after a few moments.

"Why, sir?"
Does he already wants to send me home?

"I want to go there. I guess it will be just fine if you will tour me there?" Oh, okay.

"Next two years, sir," I answered with a laugh.
Sir just nodded because of this.

"I can wait. By next month I'm moving." I was the one who nodded at what he said now.

"By the way, why, sir?"

"They assigned me to a different precinct." I slowly nodded again at his answer.

I already knew it.

"Bet you will still know me if ever?" I just laughed at what he told me.

"Of course, sir!"

"I said stop the---"

"Yes, Adam." I even snapped my finger to cut off his speech.

He just smiled a little.

"So, can I go with you if you will ever come back to the Philippines?" he asked and I slowly nodded.

"Sure, Adam." I smile here.

Adam and I talked more and it turns out that he is not going to be moving far away but still, he needs to move to a place to stay.

It's good that we don't feel awkwardness anymore despite what happened to us.

We even found ourselves laughing with each other as time goes by. He even gave me his number so that if I ever need help, he can help me. And to stay connected with him really.
