Chapter 14

Her eyes opened, she was exhausted.

"Mum, are you okay?" The Queen looked at her son and nodded, she was breathing heavily after using a lot of power to restore her grandaughters wolf.

"What happened? Was it her?" Nathaniel was excited, he needed to know. Was this his little sister he had been searching for all these years.

"No, I think it was her daughter." She remembered her daughter before she was kidnapped and this girl she had just spoken to was a spitting image of her.

"How do you know?" Nathaniel asked, Victoria turned towards the golden fireplace , with its fire crackling and the lions engraved into it lighting up and picked up a photo. A photo of a 5 year old girl, taken 35 years ago just before she disappeared.

"This is your sister, as you know." Nathaniel was 7 years old at the time of the kidnapping, although he did remember his sister the memories were fuzzy and he couldn't really remember her face, other then the photos around the castle. Especially the portrait in the main living quarters of this exact photo.

"And the girl I spoke to looks like this photo, just 13 years older. I am certain, especially considering she is a gold wolf, that she is the daughter of your sister."

Nathan was shocked, after 35 years he had given up hope, given up anything that may lead to his sister's return. The kidnappers had also never been found, Elizabeth had been presumed dead and after 5 years and £15 million spent on police and specialised search teams failing they had stopped searching. The hypothesis is that they worked in the castle, possibly as a maid or cleaner someone that the family wouldn't notice is missing from their staff as they don't hire and fire them, then they attempted a ransom of £5 billion for her, but the police officers told them not to give in. Then they never heard another word, it wasn't the police's fault, they said what they thought was correct, but it made so that Elizabeth was never found. Until today.

"Finally, she's coming home." Nathan made a sigh of relief, after all these years, after the depression of his parents, after his father's death without ever knowing what happened to his only daughter she has finally been found.

"It's possible, I mean we are going to do a DNA sample first, I have sent someone to their house to retrieve it, we will have the results in the next few hours. Until then we wait to do anything. I'm going for a walk in the garden, I need a change of scenery to clear my head." Nathan nodded, he should do this same. This is alot to take in, and then they will have to deal with paparazzi and the interviews, then security detail for everyone. And of course if she has a mate that will have to be incorporated, because for their safety they will have to move to the castle.

Nathaniel and Victoria went out the castle together, passing the throne room with the most beautiful throne in it for Her Majesty to sit on. They then passed the living quarters and went downstairs, they passed many maids and butler's all of whom bowed and said Hello. The Queen and Prince made it their job to know every staff members name, after what happened last time they didn't know.

They both walked out of the back doors, Victoria went left and Nathan went right into the massive gardens. They have to be careful not to change often, they can't risk being caught in wolf form otherwise everyone will know what their wolves look like. And there are humans that work at the castle, as they are the Royals of wolf and human, they coexist in the instance that humans know nothing of werwolves and they are keen to keep it that way.

Victoria asked the guards to leave her be, she had her book in her handbag as well as her phone just in case someone had snuck into the private gardens of Buckingham Palace to try and kill the Queen, not that they would have much luck but people would rather humans don't know that the werwolves exist so would have to pretend to be in distress and scared, which is difficult for a wolf.

She walked along the gardens, it was quiet other then the trickle of the small stream along the middle of the garden, Victoria saw the lavender and the Lilly's along the border of the stream, the fish came up for water making a small plop. She sat down in her chair, where she went to think. She thought about the day her daughter disappeared.

It was a Thursday morning, and Victoria had gone to wake her children up, even though she had nannies she made sure she was there to say goodnight and good morning, she also makes sure she tells them she loves them, she went into Nathan's room and woke him up and she was on her way to Elizabeths room, but she knew something was wrong she couldn't sense her. She got worried, Victoria ran into Elizabeths room to find it empty, then she screamed.

Charles ran in to see what had happened to see his wife shaking, she was going to change and soon. Victoria remembered her husband fondly, and smiled when she saw his face. He died 2 years ago, heartbroken at the loss of his daughter they drifted apart. She regrets not trying harder, but when you have a child snatched from you it's difficult to think of anything else.

The police searched and searched, for days. They didn't do any public appeals, the Queen didn't want the spotlight on her son, people knew she had disappeared but never spoke about it.

35 years later, Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.

Finally, her daughter was coming home.
