The Finale Part 1
They walked hand in hand to go and tell the people their decision. Max looked at his mate, he smiled. He knew they were doing what was right, and what was best for their future and the future of the country.
Darley was nervous, she knew that this is what had to be done, she also knew that this is her legacy. Something her grandmother wanted, therefore she had to do it.
They got to the big wooden doors, sitting behind these doors were her parents, and parliament. Every single member of the Houses of Commons sat in this room, awaiting their announcement.
The doors opened, everyone stood up for the Princess and Prince.
Darley looked around, her nerves building. She knew what had to happen, but was she ready to say it.
Max sat, he saw his mates hands trembling. She looked at him, he smiled. She took a deep breath.
“Good morning everyone, as requested, myself and my husband have made our decision.” The government held their breath, here was the big reveal.
“Please get the necessary paperwork ready, to state that myself and my husband are now Queen and King of this country.” She was so proud, she knew this is what her grandmother wanted. The government applauded them, this was right. The country needed this.
The next few weeks were crazy, the palace had been rebuilt so the Queen and King had to move back into it, they also had a separate bit of the palace for her parents, they weren’t safe where they were so they opted to move into the palace.
Then came the redecorating, due to the explosion everything had to be redecorated due to the blast, and the smoke that came with it. Everything was ruined in the front of the palace, they had however left the bedrooms alone so there were things of the former Queens that the family could keep. For example there is her engagement ring, she didn’t ever wear it because it was too small for her, but in her will it was left to her granddaughter, ie; Darley. This is one of the pieces of jewelry she will wear during her coronation to be the Queen of England, and also the Queen of all Wolves.
The first room to redecorate was the room where the wedding was held, there was the public wedding and then the private one. This room is where they will sign the necessary paperwork in order to become the highest power this country has. Darley decided it shall be traditional colours, which included white, gold and red, this is also the room where the thrones will sit, therefore that will be on a raised area with a gold curtain almost surrounding it. On the wall next to the door in clear view will be a portrait of the former King and Queen, in their early days. When they were happy, as this is a room where a lot of business will be done to do with the country, Darley felt it was only fitting that here was where one of the portraits should reside.
This room is going to be grand, so grand that it will be a good memorial to her grandmother.
Max stood and looked at his wife trying to redecorate the entire palace by herself, not that he didn't offer, she didn't want his help. She didn't want anyone's help just herself doing it, for herself and in memory of her Nana. She felt as though she needed to be involved, even though she was no longer here.
He knew what he was doing, but it doesn’t mean he was ready to do it. He was going to be king, how can you be ready for that unless you were born for it, and knew what was going to happen to you no matter what. It's scary, and it is something he will have to learn to live with, his wife has a bigger burden to bear. This is because she is the direct line to the throne, his was through marriage. Therefore, she is the only one that can make any decisions within the powers of the monarch, unless something happened to incompactate her, he can do basically nothing but be there for her, maybe sign some things but always be by her side. He knew that this was his path, and although he was her Alpha, she will always be his Luna. And now his Queen.
Snow was coping really well, she was looking more like her mother everyday, and was now his official Princess. She smiled her cheeky smile, giggling her baby laugh as if she knew her parents needed cheering up, which it did. They were able to leave her with her grandparents knowing she was going to be okay, and that was a relief because right now they needed the space to do that.
I think it takes a toll on a person, for their whole world to be turned upside down in a matter of months, how does one cope in these times. How has Darley adapted so well with what she has had to do, for the country as well as for her family. It's as though she hasn't really had time to think and let it all sink in.
She thought this as the day ended, she had finished decorating the room they needed most, all the others had to wait. The coronation was very soon, and it needed to be done. She wanted them all done, but after just doing one room she realised how exhausting it is.
The actual coronation happened at Westminster Abbey, the papers however were signed in private in the room she had just made sure was decorated therefore that's why the room had to be done.
On top of all of this they also had to have a meeting with all the alphas in the country, to explain how things were and if they needed to stay that way.
Her skin was itching, her wolf wanted out. They hadn't been out in so long, Darley decided that Flame should roam free for a few hours.
She ran to the woods, stripped her clothes and changed. Flame was free.
She ran, and ran and ran, feeling the wind in her fur. She stopped and howled, she loved it.
Then, she heard footsteps behind her, she stopped and turned. Then lolled a big wolfy smile.
Her mate had come to join her, they ran together. The way they always will, and always did.
