Chapter 25
The clock struck; it was time. She was ready.
Darley walked through the castle, her train flowing behind her. The beads of her sleeves glistened in the sunlight that shone through the large windows. The lace was around her white dress and it came down to her ankles, the trainers she wore were glistening and comfortable.
Her veil covered her face, not too heavy, she was doing this the traditional way, the way her grandma got married.
The ring on her finger glistened, and the music was soft and sweet, her mother smiled. Her baby was grown up, she was getting married. They walked together silently, as all the maids and servants were dressed in their own finery and they had the day off. They were thought of as a part of the family, Darley refused to let them work her wedding she wants to share this day with them.
She smiled at her father, and they got to the doors. Her mother went in first along with Maddie, her pregnant stomach was looking as though she was ready to explode but she made it known she was walking down this aisle no matter what. No-one would argue with a pregnant woman, so she got her way.
The bridesmaids went in after, there were 10 of them, including Max and Darleys daughter, Snow. She was only 6 months old, so she was carried down the isle by Jake, her favourite uncle.
Then came the time, the time that she had been waiting for. The bridal song came on, it was time.
The cameras turned and focused on her, she walked through the door with her father, her head was down. Everyone stood, and turned to look at the bride.
Then, she looked up. She gasped. It was beautiful.
The chandeliers sparkled with flowers hanging from them, the chairs were lined perfectly to fit all of the Queens friends in, the white aisle was covered in little petals the bridesmaids laid as they went down. Then she saw him, her mate, her alpha, her one and only.
His eyes were full of tears, the look on his face was one of pure astonishment he knew that they were going to be together forever and he couldn’t be happier. His black suit with a white rose on it was glossy and ironed to perfection, thanks to his mother. He was marrying the love of his life.
She started to walk down the aisle, the cameras that was showing this moment to the rest of the world was following her with every step she took. Her heels clicked as she walked down, the room was silent besides the music.
They got to the end of the aisle, people sat down.
“Who gives this woman to this man today?” The priest said.
Darley’s father looked over at his beautiful little girl, she is a mother and she is getting married, she’s all grown up.
“I do.” He said, then he took his seat.
The bride looked over and saw her baby daughter, then she looked back to her husband to be, they smiled together, its finally happening.
“We are here today to watch these two beautiful people become one. There are many things in life that aren’t certain, but these two people. They are certain.
“The Queen has asked that we don’t do the whole royal ceremony, it will take hours and there’s a baby in here. So now to the vows. Max, do you want to go first?” Max nodded and looked at his bride.
He thought about everything they went through, everything that happened and everything that was to happen. He thought of Rachel, the woman that made this day possible, he smiled at him bride. She was the one for him, she was the only one he wanted.
“Darley, you have made me a better man, a better father and a better leader. There is nothing that I wouldn’t do for you or for our daughter, she is the most precious gift you could ever give me. Although when you were pregnant you were a tad mean.
The crowd chuckled.
“I will always love you, I will always protect you and I will always want what is best for you. You are mine, and I am yours.” He took a deep breath and looked at someone who was there silently crying.
“And Mary. Rachel did something for us we will forever be grateful for, I just want to say thank you for everything you’ve done.” She smiled.
Since Rachel died she and her husband have moved down to the castle to be able to be apart of the womans life that her daughter saved. They’ve turned into personal security of the baby, they knew what was out there. With Stacey training to become Queen of both worlds, she has missed a lot. Mary hasn’t replaced their mothers, but she has been a help.
“Now, Darley time for your vows.” The priest said.
She took a deep breath; she had rehearsed this but suddenly she forgot everything. Flame wasn’t much help, she decided to sleep through it all.
“I can’t express how much I love you; you’ve always been there. Even when you threatened Jake just to stalk me. I thought you were the guy who could never love a girl like me. The quiet one, the one with only 2 friends. But then you did, and we have been through so much. We’ve had so many ups and downs, then we always came out together. No matter what. You gave me a purpose in life, you gave me Snow. The most beautiful thing to ever grace this planet.
“I love you, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
--
The party had started, the music was loud. Darley was looking around, where was Max.
More people came up to her to congratulate her, to ask about Snow and to ask to see the rings Max gave her, all the while she still couldn’t find him.
Someone came up to her, someone she didn’t recognise.
“Say good bye, Princess.”
Then, a bomb exploded.
