Chapter 6

He said it in such a way that I knew it was serious. He took my hand and led me to the car, I stepped inside my heart racing.

"What's happening Max?" He sighed.
"Just let me drive to our place and I'll explain everything."

I love the fact that he calls it our place, the rock over looking the beach and the sea, where we went when we first found out we are mates. It's amazing. We drove in silence, I could feel his brain turning itself inside out, we got to the beach and walked to the rock. We sat down and he looked panicked.

"I need to talk to you about Alex's pack, and how it has affected my life until recently." I nodded.
"Go on, I'm all ears." He took a deep breath and started.

"My dad has always been friends with Alex, they are two Alphas both with their own packs but they were also friends and that is alwys nice to have because you can learn from each other as they are similar in age. They both found their own mates at similar times, Alex's mate is called Bree and they had kids at a similar time as well.

"I am similar in age to Alex's daughter, Lucinda, and for a long time we dated." He looked up at me. But I had to look away, he lied to me.

"I know, I should've told you. It gets worse. Mum started training her to become my Luna, from the age of 15 we were together non stop. The reason you didn't know is because, one we didn't hang out, and two she goes to a different school. But we did everything together." He emphasisied everything.

"What do you mean by everything Max?" I asked, but I already knew the answer he was going to give. And I don't like it.

"She was my first, my first everything. I think I even loved her if I am honest. And I thought we were going to mates, but there was always something about her I didn't like. Luncinda, she is very manuplative and quite controlling especially about me. Actaully, since she found out about us I've been getting threats from her, saying that she is going to take what is rightfully hers and stuff. I just ignore it." He stopped and stared at me, waiting for a response.

"You know I don't like liars Max, you've done it once and I warned you not to again and the fact that someone is threatening you and me and you chose not to say anything, really." I stood up and started pacing. How could he do this? Again, we've only been together 8 days and already he ahs lied to me twice. I asked him while we were here the first time to tell me if he had been with anybody else, why the fuck did he think that it was a good time to lie. Bastard.

"I know, and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He stood up as well and moved as if he was going to come after me.

"Don't I warned." I could feel Flame wanting to come out and speak her truth, but I didn't let her. Mates were only ever supposed to sleep with their one and only, yeah having a relationsip is fine but sex is sacred in our world. I know, very old fashioned but you are only meant to experience that type of intamacy with your mate, and now he has been with someone else.

"How did it end?" I asked.

"After the thing happened between us, she thought that was it and that we were married. She demanded that her parents be put in charge of the combined packs, which I didn't even know was happening and that she was the Luna. I couldn't believe the nerve of her, we weren't married and the packs weren't combined. Thats when she told me that if I said no then she would tell everyone that we slept together, to many that would mean we are mates. I just said that if she did that then I would deny it, who was gonna believe some teenager over their Alpha? It turns out that they wanted to take the pack over, and wanted to use us being mates to do it. But obivously we aren't, this was about 6 months ago. Then you happened, and they think they can get me done for adultery in the Wolf court, which would see me removed from my position as Alpha. But as they can't prove what happened, and they know we are mates there is a very small chance of this happening."

My eyes widened, Wolf court? Adultery? Lucinda. What the actual fucking shit have I got myself into now.

"This is alot to take in."I said, and sat back down.
"I know baby, I know it is. But they can't touch us."He tried to take my hand but I pulled back.
"I just can't Max. This is the second time you've lied, and I can't believe you shared that one single thing that was meant to be mine with that witch. I don't know where to stand." I stood again.
"What are you saying D?" He asked.
"I'm saying, I don't do lies. And right now I need to go on a run."
"Why?"
"Flame has been begging to get out, she needs to be hurt as well as me. So I'm going to go for a run, probably back to my house. And I'd rather not see you until I hae wrapped my head around this mess. You understand." His eyes started to water, but he nodded.

I started running, then Flame took over. We ran and ran, both crying in our own ways. The wind helps, but it doesn't solve everything.
