Chapter 8

I ran, and I ran. My heart was racing, my breathing eratic and my wolf very very angry. She jumped across the corner as though she was a Lion stalking her prey. She howled in pain, trying not to go back and rip him to shreds. Literally.

I on the other hand stayed silent, we both needed to be angry and this was the time because Flame couldn't stand up for herself there, I didn't let her and now is her chance to let go and be as angry as she deserved. Max and Dark had betrayed us both, and we don't know how we are going to get through this.

I heard something snap behind me, and Flame snarled before taking a sniff, then she relaxed after letting me know that it was mum.

"Flame, don't snarl at your mother" Mum, also in wolf form, said. She said it in her mind, families can talk telpathically when they are in wolf form. Mums wolf was like mine, except the gold in her fur was duller. It was weird, we weren't used to seeing mum in wolf form. She came towards us and stopped.
"Why are you two sad?" She asked.
"Max" We said. She sighed and nodded her head, then she jerked it in a seperate direction, in other words lets go home and talk this through.

So, we ran together, not speaking just letting the wind rip through our golden fur, going that fast it looked as though there was only one wolf not two. Then we got home, and went into the garage in the garden and changed back, as our clothes rip to shreds when we change we havea space where we keep spare clothes and are hidden in the back garden so we can change and have privacy while doing so.

Mum and I got into the house, thankfully Dad was out I did not need him overhearing this conversation. We sat on the sofa, and I just let rip. I told mum everything, how Max had betrayed me after I asked him if he every had a girlfriend, how he stalked me beforehand because it is a tad strange, how this Lucinda person was his first love. She just listened and nodded and made me tea. Thats what mums do, just listen while you talk for England. I got to the end and waited for her reply.

She thought for a moment before speaking, "So, he stalked you using your brother, then he lied to you and he then told you that he had broken our most sacred law. Right. Do you think he is keeping more from you?" She asked, mothers always do that. They can read minds, thankfully my mum can only talk to me telepathically and not read my mind as some myths may tell you.
"Yeah, I think he is keeping something else from me, but I can't think what else he could be keeping." I said. She nodded again.
"And you just ran away?" She asked.
"Yes I did." She sighed again.

I knew what she was thinking, why didn't I just stay and sort this out, ask him if there was anything else he was hiding. I guess, I wanted to trust him and not my instincts, however my instincts are always right. I just don't want to think I can't trust him, the normal saying comes to mind. No trust, no relationship.

Mum and I sat in silence, drinking our tea and staring into space. She knows how much turmoil I'm in, he must have really loved Lucinda to sleep with her, so where does that leave me? Am I just someone to fill his needs, I know I'm his mate but not all mates get along, nevermind love each other.

"Right." I stood up. Mum looked at me, wondering what was happening.
"I'm going round to his house, and I am not dealing with this shit. I am getting an answer and then dealing with whatever happens, I can't be arsed for him to make the first move. He's a guy, and will just say that he though I needed time. Well, fuck that.

I got my car keys and drove to Max's house, I don't really know what to say to him, and I hope for christs sakes that we don't have another argument. I honestly can't be bothered with it. He needs to tell me his secrets, and I mean all of them. I do not need any surprises.

I got to the Symths house and saw another car there, one I did not recongise which wasn't usual many people had cars which we all knew so this one was weird to see, I had a pit in the bottom of my stomach. I got out of my car and heard Max say my name, he must have smelled my scent coming down the drive but as I turned that corner to the front door, this was not the case.

A strange woman with brown hair was at Max's door, and they were kissing. I saw red.

"Who the fuck are you, and why are you kissing my mate?" I shouted, Max turned to me, a shocked and scared expression on his face. Then that thing turned around smiling.
"Hi I'm Lucinda, Max's real mate." I saw red.
"You fucking what!" I shouted. Max came to me, as if he was going to hug me.
"Get away from me, you bastard." I pushed him back, to her.
"Darley, I swear I thought she was you." Lucinda laughed.
"No you didn't. You knew it was me, your real Luna." She grabbed his arm, but he took it out of her grip.
"Get out of my sight Lucinda, you are banished from this land." His Alpha tone came out. This is never a good sign.
"Only the actual Alpha can banish me." We heard a thud and Derek was there.

"You are banished Lucinda." He told her.
"Wait Derek." I said, he looked at me confused.

"Lucinda, you have dishonoured my mate and I and you have disrespected my title as well as the title of being a wolf. I hereby challenge you to a duel." I said to her, eat that bitch. Derek was proud, Max was horrified and God knows what my parents are going to say. She smirked.
"I accept your duel, Luna." She mockingly bowed to me.

"We shall see who Max's mate really is." Then she ran off, and changed into her horrid wolf.

"What the fuck have you done Darley?"
