Chapter 31

The black unbrellas covered the cemetary as the coffin was lowered into the ground, everyone was crying. It was too soon, she didn't even get to know her daughter before she passed.

Stacey was the first to throw the soil onto the coffin, then Jake was. Maddie was crying, holding her child as she cried.

Max was somber, he was holding Snow but she didn't understand what had happened. He didn't want to show emotion, because this could upset his duaghter and he didn't want that.

The rain was hitting the umbrella over his head as he turned the face the person who was holding it her smiled.

"Mummy." Snow shouted, she didn't like the noise. Darley smiled and took Snow from Max. She gave him the umbrella then grabbed his hand. They were buring her grandmother, her eyes were filled with tears. She couldn't believe what had happened over the last few years.

First she gets her mate, who is an Alpha who can control her if he chooses to.

Then, she finds that her grandmother is the Queen. Max got kidnapped, she killed her best friend, she had a child and got married then her home blew up and her grandmother was killed in the blast, then we go to when Rachel was actually alive and behind the bombing, then she poisions Darley and she died for nearly half an hour.

So much has happened, she didn't get the time she wanted. She didn't get to know the grandmother she always wanted, it was ripped out of her grasp. Her daughter nearly lost her mother, her mate nearly lost his. And now there is to be a trial, Mary and Rachel are going on trial. It turned out the father had left after his daughter 'died' he knew nothing.

It had only been five years since they found they were mates, and so much had happened. It felt more like 20 years.

The coffin was lowered into the ground, the Queen offically was dead. The big question, who was to be the next.

Nathaniel was out of the question, he had given up his place on the throne out of choice. He isn't here now because he is stuck overseas, his grief was too much. He chose to grieve on his own.

Maddie and Jake have also decided not to put their name forward if you will, they do not live here and do not want to run the country.

So, it is down to D's parents or Max and Darley themselves, so what decides who become the next King and Queen.

There is a process, so the people decide between themselves or there is a board of the countrys upper power who decides who are next.

The funeral procession ends. Shots are fired and God save the Queen is sung as the country says good bye to their Queen. The Prime Minister is now the high power, and in the next 30 days there is a new royal chosen to be the next King and Queen.

Max and Darley walk back to their car, with them knowing that the news outlets are waiting at the gates of Buckingham Palace, and Darley is to give a speech about her grandmother.

Max grabbed her hand, silently saying its all going to be okay. She nodded.

The trees whizzed past the car as it sped past, it wasn't long and they arrived at the gates of the newly replaced Buckingham Palace, it was crowded with paparazzi and news outlets, as well as other people. The funeral was live streamed onto the screens that were sat next to the gate as well as on other news sources, the world needed to be able to say goodbye to the Queen.

The car stopped, it was her cue. Darley looked around and saw everyone that was waiting for her, to say goodbye to the Queen and maybe even to say who was going to be next in the line of succession.

The crowd quietened, and she stood on the podium.

"Hello everyone, and thank you for being here today.

"You all know me, so I'm not going to bother introducing myself, we are here to talk abotu my grandmother the most amazing woman you will ever have known. She was bubbly, she was beautiful but most of all she was mine.

"For most of my life I didn't know her, I didn't know of her legacy because my mother was stolen as a child by people who hated my grandmother. I am glad to say that they have since been caught and been imprisoned, there will be more details published at a later date, those people stole a life of knowing my grandmother, they stole so much from my family, they even tried to steal my baby.

"My baby girl, they tried to kill her but the Queen saved her, she threw herself on top of her great grandchild and saved her, but in turn lost her own life. This a debt I will never be able to repay, she isn't here anymore. But she did me the greatest deal she could and I will forever thank her for keeping my family whole while myself and my husband were injured.

"I love you Nana. God save the Queen" Tears were streaming down her face as she finshed and the crowd arrupted. She went off of the stage as the Prime Minister took over.

"We have decisions to make." Max whispered. She nodded, she knew what she had to do.
