Chapter 16

I went home to cool down. Everything was confusing. "Why would she not know she's a wolf? Is she an hybrid?" I sat down confused.
"Why would Carlos want her and why would Klaus be helping? Is she a vampire?" All these questions kept flooding my mind.

I was tired and frustrated. I didn't know what to do. On one hand I was scared for my kingdom.My dad worked hard to build this kingdom. On the other hand,I have to take my mate,Zoe home as soon as possible.
"How would I make her understand? She seems to be a little off." I said.

I walked upstairs to my room,perplexed and puzzled.
I didn't know what to do or where to start from. Its not like I actually like Zoe,its just that she's my mate and i have no other choice.
"First I have to act like a normal man and make her fall in love with me. Maybe She'll willingly follow me to Moondor or I can lie to her." I said to myself.

"What to do?" I tugged at my hair.
I sat down and Payne barged in.
"Thank God we didn't get fired." He said and went into the bathroom.
He finished bathing and came out naked.
"The next time you go into the bathroom without your towel,I'll slit your throat." I warned.
"Oh! That? Its in there." He shrugged.
"Then why didn't you use it?" I asked.
He walked to the wardrobe and took out some of his clothings and wore them.
"I just like the feeling. The cold water still on my body." He said and sat beside me.
"We are taking time here. We need to get to Zoe fast." He said.
"That's what I've been thinking of. I don't know how to approach her. Honestly I don't like her but I can do anything for my country." I said.
"Indeed! I bet you like her but your pride won't let you admit." He accused
"I don't. Honestly." I disagreed.
"Whatever. We just need to find her again." Payne said.
The room was silent and I could hear myself breathing.
"Wait!" He stood up breaking the deafeaning silence.
"You used a telephone to call Stella. Let's call her back and ask for an address." He suggested.
"That's true but she typed some random numbers before I heard a voice." I specified.

"Let's ask Eleanor. She knows everything." I said.
"Yeah but she shouldn't suspect. I don't want to get the hmmm look from her." He imitated the look which earned a hearty loud laugh from me. We both imitated her again and laughed together.

We waited in the sitting room for a while. I sat on the chair and Payne was in the dinning room seated. His head was on the table. I guess he was fast asleep.
I was already dozing off when I heard the door bell. I jumped up on my feet and opened the door. It was Eleanor. She was carrying two shopping bags with her. Payne jumped up from where he is and collected the bags from her.
"Welcome ma." He greeted and proceeded to the kitchen.
"How do you know the content of the bag belongs in the kitchen?" I asked.
"I smelt the ingredients." He smiled.
"You could have said you were hungry. I would have come faster." Eleanor said.
"We didn't know how to get to you." I said.
"Well. I got you guys a telephone." She said and handed over two small boxes to us.
We opened it and it look like what Zoe had used to talk to Stella.
"Thank you so much. Thank you." Payne said.
"Thanks ma'am Eleanor." I said too.
"its nothing. I'm going upstairs to shower. I'm coming back to make food for us." She said and made her way upstairs.
"Be fast ma'am. We are cooking together." Payne yelled.
"Why is she so nice to us?" I inquired.
"She's just a really nice person." He defended.
"I didn't counter the fact that she is nice but this is extra. She doesn't know us." I whispered.
"I know its weird but maybe she's just nice." I concluded.
"Yeah we'll be more careful." I said and he affirmed.

Payne brought out the ingredients from the bags and arranged them on the cabinet.
We just waited eagerly like little kids waiting for their mom.
Payne's stomach grumbled and I laughed.
"Your stomach is a tank." I laughed.
"Yeah. Leave me alone. I cleaned up the shop after your stupid fight. Be happy Eleanor hasn't heard." He grumbled.

After a while,Eleanor came downstairs and they started making the food. I just watched them. I'm a bad cook so I didn't interfere with their business.

"Eleanor thanks for the phone but do you remember when Zoe used your phone to call Stella?" I asked,distracting her from cutting the vegetables.
"Yes I do." She smiled.
"Can I still get the number from your phone?" I asked.
"Yes. My phone is upstairs on the small table in my room." She said and I dashed upstairs.
I opened the door and the sweet scent attacked me. It smelled like roses in the room. I went in and closed the door behind me.
Her room looked different. it was painted with cream colour and the room was very clean. Her bed too has been laid perfectly. A drawing hung on the wall,it was a boy's picture but he looked nothing like Eleanor and he was very handsome. Maybe it was her husband or boyfriend. Its non of my business.
I picked the phone on the table and left.
"Here's the phone." I stretched to hand it over to her.
"Check it. Go to dialed and scroll through till you see the date she dialed Stella." She said.
"Okay."
I didn't know how to turn it and and make the screen light out like Zoe did.
I clicked the screen several times and Payne tried his best not to burst into laughter.
I saw two vertical thingys by the side. One was short and one was long. I pressed the long one but it didn't turn on. I pressed the short one and it turned on. I was happy like I just make a life time achievement.
I clicked on what Zoe has clicked on that very day and I scrolled and saw the date. It was on the 12th. it was the only number without a name tag.
I dialed the number again and I heard Stella's voice.
"Hey." She said.
"Hi Stella. Its me Sam." I introduced.
"Hi Sam. How are you?" She asked.
"I'm fine,you?" I asked too,not to sound rude.
"I'm okay too. Thanks."
"Can we come visit?" I asked.
"Why?" She said.
"Like its you I want I visit." I mumbled.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just want to be friends that's all."
"Fine then.I'll text you our address."
"Okay thanks." I rolled my eyes
