Mia's POV
I stood before the mirror in the bathroom and looked over my body. I was still sore from last night and I smiled at the thought of it. Last night was amazing I don't know how anyone can go so long without having sex or how anyone can drag themselves out of bed in the morning and away from their partners.
I traced the two lumps on my neck from where Michael had drank from me and I winced a little but it was a good pain. I love letting him drink from me. Being a vampire in the realm of entities has been difficult for him. Not just because of the awkward stares he gets or how people pull their children away from him but also because unlike on earth there are no animals here he can drink as they all carry a toxin in their blood that is poisonous. At first Michael refused to drink my blood. He said that he didn't want to end up like every other vampire that he has spent his whole life trying to avoid and run from but after 2 weeks of him not drinking he finally caved in.
Once he did it was like heaven. I felt as if we were connecting with each other on a whole new level and I will admit that it had turned me on to hear him growl the first time my blood hit his lips. Now he only ever drinks from me during sex which I have to agree is the best feeling ever.
A sudden movement caught my attention as a naked Michael came in and wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"Good morning Fiancée." He smiled and rested his chin on my head looking at me in the mirror. I love hearing that word come from his lips.
"Good morning to you soon to be husband." I giggled and turn in his arms reaching up and kissing him.
Michael kissed me back deeply and I suddenly felt a wave of heat spread through my body as I connected with his ice cold body. He pulled away from the kiss and grinned at my frown.
"Hey I wanted more." I pouted.
"I know but you have to wait." Michael chuckled and kissed my forehead. "Come on lets shower together we have a lot of work to do. No doubt Sabrina will be stealing you away from me shortly to do more wedding plans." He pulled me over to the shower and once the temperature was right we both stepped in.
The wedding was tomorrow and the whole kingdom was excited. We had already opened our home to 300 people from the neighbouring kingdoms. From Lords and Ladies to their servants that came to help with the preparations. I have never seen so much go on in such a small space of time.
After the shower we both got dressed and just as I had finished doing my hair the door knocked and Sabrina walked in.
"Good morning your highness, my lord." She smiled and did a small bow for both Michael and me. I groaned as she knows I hate it when she does that.
"Good morning woman stealer." Michael replied. "I take it your here to do just that." He chuckled and put his arms around me.
"You know it now hand her over Michael I promise you will get her back later." Sabrina laughed and took my arm.
Michael gave me a quick kiss and handed me over to Sabrina. "Tomorrow you'll be handing her over to me Sabrina. This is the last time that I will be handing her over to you."
Due to the fact that I don't have a father or anyone to give me away at the alter we decided to let Sabrina do it. She was of course more than happy to do so as during our time here which must have been at least 6 months now we have become the closest of friends and I don't know what I would do without her here.
"Tomorrow is going to be amazing." She said and giggled as she took my hand and pulled me out the door. "And you are going to look amazing when you see what I have found for you."
Dalton's POV
Today was the day that Derek was planning on storming into another realm using a portal that he doesn't even know will work. Of course I will be the test subject for it as "I'm not much use to them now." According to Claire.
I would be glad to get away from them even if the portal fails and I end up somewhere else at least I won't be with them.
We arrived at the place where this so called portal was meant to be yesterday and had set up camp while Derek tried to figure out how to locate it on a map.
I had managed to convince Claire to allow me to walk around a bit by saying that I could try looking for it in person. She and Derek both scoffed but agreed to it so I have been walking around the field for a few hours now.
I'm just happy to be outside with my own thoughts and being able to do my own thing even if I can't go very far. As I stood at the edge of the field near the woods, I tried again to call out for Mia and I was expecting it to just be silent like normal but I heard a voice reply.
Voice
Dalton
"Dalton"
"Who are you? Where are you? How do you know me?"
"Dalton last entity of Offtrender you must find the portal and return home."
"Where is the portal?"
"4 to the left, straight ahead for 10, the portal can be found to Offtren."
"What does that mean?"
The voice faded away and I couldn't hear it anymore. 4 to the left? 4 what?
I shook my head and turned around only to see footprints in the mud to the left but they weren't mine. 4 of them.
"Your leading me to the portal." I said out loud and I followed the footprints until they lead straight ahead. I looked over my shoulder towards Derek's camp and saw that they weren't paying attention.
The footprints lead into the trees that surrounded us and soon into a clearing. In the center of the clearing there were two large rocks. I was about to leave when I heard the voice coming from between the rocks.
"You don't have much time. You must come with me now."
The voice said and I stepped towards it. Just as I was about to go to the rocks I heard a twig snap and I spun around to see Derek and Claire. Derek had his sword pointed at my throat.
"Seems your little pet was about to run off Claire." Derek growled and stepped closer to me with the sword still against my throat.
Claire stalked over to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Tell me what you were doing pet."
"The portal is between the rocks I found it." The words came out of my mouth without me wanting them too. Mentally I screamed at myself for saying it but I knew that with Claire's compulsion I wasn't going to be able to stop.
Derek lowered his sword a little. "And how do we know he isn't lying? Maybe your mind control isn't as powerful as you think Claire." He sneered.
Suddenly he fell to his knees in pain and grabbed his head.
"Never question my powers Derek." Claire hissed and stopped whatever mind trick she was doing.
Derek slowly stood back up. "Fine say that it is the portal what's to stop the mongrel from escaping like the bitch did."
"I will go in with him." Claire stated and then turned towards me. "Now pet you are to go into the portal and wait on the other side for me. Go."
I moved towards the portal only this time I wanted to and not because she was making me do it. As I got between the rocks I felt a shimmering and then a large suction like a vacuum. And then I was floating. Everything around me was white but I could see reflections of a rainbow of colours.
Then it felt as if a weight had been lifted off me. Like chains were falling from my neck and wrists and I knew that Claire's hold on me was gone. I was free.
Free to do as I wanted and free to kill her. Just then I felt my foot hit solid ground and I looked around to see I was in a garden. The grass was so green and the sky blue. There were hedges of strange shapes everywhere and there must have been water nearby as I could hear it.
"Its beautiful here." I said out loud and I took a step forward only to be consumed by fire.
It felt as if it were in my veins. Burning me from my feet all the way up. I screamed out and fell forward. I heard someone move behind me and sensed it to be Claire. I screamed again and I could hear her trying to say something over my screams but I couldn't make it out.
I turned to look at her and saw the fear in her eyes right before she went flying backwards into a wall and she slumped to the floor. I looked forward to see guards and people running towards me.
"Dalton!" I knew that voice. "Dalton!"
"Mia! Help me please!"
"Sabrina please do something." I could hear Mia say and I screamed as another round of fire spread through me.
I saw a bright light surround me and someone kneel in front of me.
"Dalton you need to listen to me. I know it hurts. Your an entity in a human body and now you are in the realm of entities the body is rejecting you. You need to let go. I've put a shield around us as this will cause a problem but I need you to leave the body."
"How... How can I do that..." I cried. "Please make the pain stop."
"Focus on your spirit feel it inside you. Imagine your body is a door you need to open it and you need to leave."
As she said this I felt as if I was floating again the pain was leaving and so was I. I looked down to see my body on the floor. And as I floated away from this place I saw her.
I saw my sister crying as she looked on at the vessel as it died.
"I'm sorry Mia."
