Chapter 150: Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. and Mrs. Morgan
**Chapter 150: Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. and Mrs. Morgan**
ELLIE
The little Sophia’s red hair—just like her mother’s—shone under the sunset light, as did Annabel’s golden locks, as they both walked toward us, bringing smiles to every face around.
In front, Sophia tossed red petals into the air, and behind her, slightly taller, Annabel carried a small basket with the rings.
Now that I finally got to meet her, I understood why Ethan always said she looked like an angel. She was only five years old and so adorable that I wanted to squeeze her the moment I saw her.
Ethan was smitten with his niece, but unfortunately, his younger sister lived on the other side of the country, making it a bit difficult for him to see her often.
So, I was more than happy that they could come to our wedding in another country.
When she finished her walk toward us, Sophia ran to her mother, who stood to my right, along with the other bridesmaids. Annabel did the same, running to her mother after handing the rings to Ethan.
I think that was the only moment I managed to take my eyes off him since I saw him, utterly irresistible in his black suit. I could barely pay attention to the officiant’s words.
I was lost in his brown gaze, intense and full of promises. It was as if only the two of us existed and nothing else around mattered.
I only realized it was time for the vows when he turned to me, pulling me out of the trance.
Holding my slightly trembling hands, overwhelmed with emotion, he took a deep breath.
“I wanted to say so many things…” he began, looking into my eyes. “We’ve been through so much, and I’ve made so many promises too… many I couldn’t keep…” It hurt me a bit to see that he still blamed himself for that. “But after everything, I think what matters is that you’re still here. And for that, I feel so grateful. Because you never gave up on me. From the beginning… even when I didn’t deserve it. And then, in so many other moments… you never gave up. For that very reason, I think I’ll never deserve you… but I promise I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to.” Swallowing the lump that formed in my throat, I felt the tears overflow. “You saved me, Ellie Brown…” he said, his eyes glistening. “And even if I can never repay you for that, I want you to know that I love you with my life… and for that, I promise to dedicate every day of the rest of it to you.”
Taking a deep breath, speechless, I raised my hand to wipe the tear that escaped down his cheek.
I hadn’t written any vows, but I knew exactly what to say. What had always been in my heart.
“You say I saved you, but… I just chose to love you. And it happened in a way I simply couldn’t escape. And believe me, I tried…” I said, making us smile through the tears. “I fell in love with you exactly for who you are. So, you don’t need to repay anything because you’ve always been enough for me. Always have and always will. Only you… because you’re so much more than I ever dreamed of, Ethan Morgan. And I’ve loved you, secretly, since the day I laid eyes on you in that room.”
He leaned in suddenly.
“And I wanted to bring you to your knees,” he whispered in my ear, making me laugh.
*Bastard.*
“You two, behave,” Zoe murmured beside us.
“Ethan and Ellie… it was beautiful to hear these promises,” the officiant said, resuming her speech. “Now, before all who witness this moment, I ask: do you accept each other as husband and wife?”
“Yes,” I replied, without hesitation, eager.
“Yes,” he repeated, holding my gaze. “Finally,” he murmured.
“Then, you may exchange the rings as a symbol of the promise you’ve just made,” she said.
Taking the red box he retrieved from the basket in his pocket, Ethan opened it, taking out the rings. Then, he took my hand after handing me one of them.
“With this ring… I declare you mine, now and forever, Mrs. Morgan,” he declared, in a provocative yet passionate way that brought my tears back.
I blinked, taking his hand with my slightly trembling one.
“With this ring, I declare you mine…” I repeated, holding his gaze as I placed the ring. “Now and forever, Mr. Morgan.”
“Then, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Now… seal this love with a kiss,” the officiant finally said.
“You didn’t even have to say it,” Ethan whispered, with a smile, his hands wrapping around my waist, pulling me to him.
His lips pressed firmly against mine, and his grip around me tightened, so I could feel his desire and how much he was trying to contain it, probably because of the audience watching us.
That made me wish we were alone because I didn’t want him to hold back anymore.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan!” the officiant announced, forcing us to part our lips, as applause, whistles, and cheers erupted around us.
A second later, my husband was pulled away from me by his euphoric, almost wild friends.
I only managed to see Will lifting him off the ground before being surrounded by my equally euphoric bridesmaids.
Then, we were practically dragged to the dinner area, where the tables were arranged on the grass, forming a circle designated for dancing.
“Are you okay?” I asked, slightly concerned when he returned to me.
“I was going to ask you the same.”
“Yes,” I smiled. “So, now what?”
“Let’s get this over with so we can get rid of all these people,” he murmured.
“Don’t say that!” I whispered, trying not to laugh. “They’re our friends and family.”
“I know… and I love them… but right now, I just want this to end quickly so I can rip that dress off you,” he teased, his arms wrapping around me.
“Unfortunately, I think that’s going to take a while. We still have the dances, speeches, toasts, photos, dinner…”
“Damn…” he growled. “What does a man have to do to be alone with his wife?”
“Be patient.”
“Come,” he took my hand, leading me to the center of the circle on the grass.
“That’s not being patient,” I said, laughing.
“Two weeks. That’s all I’m going to say.” His hands rested on my waist.
“Alright. So, ready for our first dance?” I asked, with a smile.
“What song did you choose?”
“You’ll see soon.”
“I hope you liked the one I chose for you earlier.”
“It was perfect. Thank you,” I said, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“You are perfect,” he murmured, his gaze moving over my face with fascination, as if absorbing every detail. “Can I kiss you for real now?”
“Yes, please,” I murmured, almost melting in his arms.
Then, his lips took mine, soft but at the same time, firm and dominating, just like his touch, pressing me against his body.
His tongue entangled with mine, seductively provoking, guiding the movements in a hot way, making me lose my mind and crave more.
“Hey, we’re still here!” Zoe’s voice sounded from somewhere, making him pull his lips away against my will.
“She’s still the same,” I grumbled, almost breathless, a smile forming on my lips.
“Yes, and maybe we should thank her because maybe we wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t set us up in that room.”
“That was so wrong. And I’m sure that even without her help, nothing would have stopped you from tormenting me.”
“Yes. I would have found a way to sneak into your bed. And we both know you wouldn’t have resisted,” he teased, his brown eyes shining with mischief.
“Yeah, I think I’ve always had a thing for bastards… And here I am, married to one,” I teased back.
“You should be more careful with your words. I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with you,” he warned.
“What do you mean ‘what you’re going to do with me’?”
“Your punishment for driving me crazy for two weeks.”
“Punishment? You want to punish me when it was you who misbehaved?”
“I know you weren’t angry, and your intention was just to drive me crazy. Well, you succeeded. So, what should I do with you?” he asked, staring at me intensely and pulling me closer against his body. “Maybe fuck you with my tongue until you beg me to stop…” he whispered, awakening my entire body. “Or maybe tie your hands and pin you to the bed to fuck you from behind… Or…”
The music started playing suddenly, interrupting him.
I blinked, taking a deep breath, grateful for the interruption, as I was about to beg him to take me upstairs to do all that with me.
“I think that’s our cue,” I said, looking around and realizing that all eyes were back on us again.
He nodded, starting to guide me slowly to the rhythm of the music.
“Wild love…” he murmured, satisfied, recognizing the song the moment James Bay began singing the chorus. “Couldn’t have chosen better.”
✽
Zoe and Bennett got into the car as we said goodbye to Anna and Will. It was already completely dark, and they were the last ones remaining. The two couples would share the car on the trip back to Paris.
“I’m dying of envy… So, enjoy Paris, Italy, and Greece for me,” Anna said, letting go of me.
“You got it.”
“But don’t take too long, because I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too.”
“I highly doubt that,” she winked and raised her eyebrows toward Ethan. “Love you.”
“Love you too.”
“So, have fun, and be very happy,” she let go of my hands, getting into the car afterward.
“Bye, El!” Will shouted from the other side of the car. “Let me know if he misbehaves,” he said before getting in, making me smile.
We watched the car drive away down the road, but Ethan didn’t even wait for it to disappear before pulling me against his body.
“So, are you happy?” I smiled, holding onto his arms. “We’re finally alone. Are you going to punish me now?” I teased.
“I want to. But it wouldn’t be fair not to give you a chance on our wedding night. So…” He looked at something over my shoulder. “If you can reach the door before I catch you, there will be no punishment, and you can have whatever you want.”
“Whatever I want? Wait…” I realized. “That’s not fair. With this dress and the veil…”
“I’ll give you a head start… One…” he started counting.
“Wait…”
“Two…”
“Shit,” I growled, pushing him to make him let go.
Turning around, I tried to grab as much of the dress’s skirt as possible, lifting it as I started to run toward the door.
Overcome by adrenaline, I tried not to trip, running through the grass as fast as I could while laughing.
I was almost there, and I really thought I was going to make it, but the moment I was about to place my feet on the doorframe, strong arms wrapped around me, lifting me off the ground and making me let out a small squeal of surprise.
