Chapter 31

Where on one side, Alexander was averse to returning to his duties; on the other side, Juan was enjoying Heather's company without Alexander's presence.
Even though his thoughts on Heather were clear enough after his time spent with her last night, spending some alone time with her without Alexander's presence gave him a clear perspective. His opinion of her became strong. In return, he could not help but be annoyed with his folks.
How could they ever judge her without even giving her a single chance?
Her saving Alexander's life should have been enough to make them fall in love with her. She was in all ways perfect for his elder brother. He could understand why his brother fell hard for her. He was utterly disappointed in their parents and sincerely wished that they would change their opinion on Heather and give her and his brother their blessings.
"Juan, is it okay if we take a few steps? I would really like to stroll around here and inhale the city like you all have done for years." Heather asked him.
Even though the carriage ride was fun with such pleasant company, she believed she would feel more connected with Warsavor if her feet were on the ground as she took in her surroundings more slowly.
"Yes, it certainly would be. In fact, I think it is a splendid idea." Juan nodded.
He then helped Heather to the ground, and he held out his arm for her to grasp onto.
"Aren't you a gentleman?" Heather jested.
"Always! A man must always be a gentleman in a women's company." He winked in return, making her chuckle.
He then walked her about, stopping at all the noteworthy locations that he believed Heather might find useful as the time came. But, one of the key places he wanted her to get familiar with was The Medical Emporium of their town Warsavor.
It was one of the most important places run by Luciano Han. He is the most experienced doctor, followed by his son Lucas Han and grand-daughter Lucinda Han. His grand-son Leo Han was, however, more suited to helping the locals with herbal remedies than with medical assistance.
Leo Han got his skill from his mother, Mathilda Han, who often looked after the nursery and assisted the family with all the natural herbs that they grew and imported.
“Hello, Luciano Han." Juan greeted the old man as he entered the emporium with Heather in his arms, who was eye-viewing her surroundings inquisitively.
“Hello, my young prince. Who is the lovely lady beside you? Perhaps our princess.” Luciano Han greeted them with a smile on his face.
He was curious to learn about the new face standing in front of him with Prince Juan Diadem.
"How I wish this were true right now. But no. This beautiful lady is Heather Crown, our beloved guest and perhaps your assistant if you allow.” Juan spoke, making Heather blush at his words.
Luciano Han, on the other hand, had an astonished expression on his face and asked, "My assistant, you tell me?"
“I have been generously informed that she has the gift. Maybe, you could test it for yourself.” Juan said.
Even though he vouch for Alexander’s words, he hopes that he did not oversell her abilities. He sincerely prays that she is as good as his brother claims.
"I most definitely will. Why don't you join me when my next client grace its presence, Heather Crown?”
Heather gave him a nod and stood beside Luciano Han. Just as one of his female consumers came, he not so discreetly let Heather take over as the woman described her needs. Even though Luciano Han was internally impressed with how Heather presented herself, he was baffled by how much-advanced knowledge she possessed.
Juan was not far behind. He was equally astonished and mighty impressed by her proficiency with plants and medicine. His brother was not exaggerating when he mentioned to him about her gift.
Luciano Han could not help but praise her, “Young lady, you did not fail to impress me. It would be my honor to have your presence beside me. Nevertheless, I take care of my patients in the room back of the nursery with my son Lucas and grand-daughter Lucinda. It is my grand-son Leo and my daughter-in-law Mathilda who looks after the nursery and takes care of the customer here.
“Thank you, Luciano Han. It would be my honor to help the people around with you, along with your family.”
Heather was glad and relieved that the senior Han welcomed her with open arms. She showed her appreciation with a grateful smile on her face.
“Juan Diadem, if you could help me out by showing Heather the nursery for me? The door of the cabin is also unlocked, so you can even walk around. Since Leo and Mathilda are out for some dealership matter and my son is gone for a home visit, I am required in the front.”
“Of course, Luciano Han. You do not worry. I will help Heather out with everything.”
"Thank you." Luciano Han said and gestured them the way to the nursery.
"My brother was right. You are gifted.” Juan stated as he led Heather to the nursery, towards the room where Hans usually treats their patients.
“I won't go far calling myself gifted, but I do like to help people.”
“It’s a noble work. Luciano Han is an amazing man. I am certain that you would enjoy working with him and the rest of the family.”
“I pray so,”
Juan was observing her as Heather looked around everything. This is going to be her second home after her small dwelling. Not once Heather showed any qualms about residing in such a small residence. Moreover, she looked content and now amazed as she was seizing everything she was looking at in the cabin. He made sure to inform that the door of the cabin was joined with the Medical emporium.
As they took a stroll in the nursery, he even tried to boast the minimal knowledge he possessed of herbs. He liked that Heather did not make fun of him but rather contributed by sharing her own knowledge.
“So, how are you liking our place so far?" Juan finally asked her as he led her to the nursery from the back gate, which was just next to the medical emporium.
"It is nice."
"Alexander is the only reason why you came here." He voiced out his observation.
"Is it that evident?" She asked him.
"I can see it in your eyes, the yearning for your old place," Juan stated.
"I would not hide that I miss Mystes since that is the only place and people I have been around since I could ever remember. At the same time, I want to give a fair chance to Warsavor."
"I am glad. Just know that if you ever need anything, you can come to me any time without any hesitation."
"Thank you, Juan. I really appreciate it." Heather said.
They abruptly took a halt in their steps when Juan's feet stopped moving. Standing in front of them of one of the most magnificent women Heather had seen, who was looking at them alarmingly.
