Chapter 87
It has been a good year. A long, good year.
As Heather tended her baby girl in her arms in her chambers, Alexander came from behind and hugged both of his girls with affection.
“How is my baby girl fairing?”
"Wonderfully." She smiled as she gave in to her husband's warmth.
She still remembered waking up almost two days later after the battle she had alongside her family and the natives. Diona was also lying beside her on the same bed as hers, unconscious but breathing steadily.
She was not startled to see her hand in Alexander's, nor was she fazed to see Juan stroking Diona's cheeks.
Alexander instantly wrapped his arms around her, his tears pooling on her skin as soon as he met her gaze. Although Juan was also feeling sad to see his lady love still in the dark, his happiness was fleeting because Diona brought him joy a few hours later.
Contessa and Heinrich's concerned expressions were the most unexpected part of the entire encounter, as their brutality was still fresh in her memory. Fortunately, with Malka being inside the dungeons and with the end of her dark spell, everyone remembered everything. From there, life was both easy and difficult. It took a long time to reestablish the original footing, and it was not easy to live with the two parallel memories. It was also awkward to find the original tune with the Diadem's family, especially for Alexander and Juan, who were still reeling from their folks' despicable attitude under their cousin's influence.
However, Heather knew that it would take time to rise above everything, especially with her being with a child, but it was a welcome day.
Further, Diadems were shocked to learn about Juan being the new king, as Malks's curse did not end with Alexander passing his rein to his younger brother. To their amazement, though, not one of them voiced any objections to this beautiful alteration.
Another shocking part of her life was Alexander's wish to live with her in Mystes. Even though his parents had given him permission to marry Heather, Alexander did not want to permanently return to Warsavor because of the way their lives were changing. He cherished Mystes because, following the conclusion of their dark period, just two regions—Boonsdock and that one—exhibited almost little behavioral change.
At first, she was very resistant, but then everything fell into place.
On one side, Juan was ruling Warsavor along with Diona; on the other side, Alexander was by her side, helping her and Gonzale's family with their affairs. It was quite unconventional but almost the perfect route to their voyage of life.
They even tied the knot at Boonsdock. It was Alexander's proposal to have their marriage within nature. In a short span, he humbled down towards the people there, and the locals became a lot more accepting of him when he chose to fight alongside her.
It was given that Alexander and she would be the leading people of both Mystes and Boonsdock, which was a welcome change.
Despite a couple of challenging years, in the end, Alexander and Heather were souled to be together.
