Chapter 36
Heather immediately said, "Let me help you," and hurried up to the woman whose eyes were fixed on the big box of cardboard.
“Thank you, dear. I appreciate it,” The lady said as they lifted the bulky box together and set it on the table in front of the window.
Now that box was out of the way, Heather was entirely able to look at the lady in need of aid. She did not understand how mistaken she was when she thought Diona Gonzales was the most beautiful woman she had ever met. In contrast to the woman in front of her, she was nothing. It might be too far-fetched to call her nothing, but Diona paled in comparison to this lady.
The woman who she just helped looked no less than divine. There was something charismatic about her which is challenging to explain in words. She had perfect skin and a lovely complexion, which highlighted her sea-green eyes. The woman had lovely golden hair that was now pulled up into a messy bun, a few strands graciously falling on the side of her face. However, unlike hers, the woman’s grey streaks were visible, which only enhanced her beauty. While her hair was beginning to turn grey and she had a few wrinkles around her eyes, it was difficult to tell how old she was. She didn't precisely seem elderly, nor did she look overly youthful, but her demeanor screamed vivacity.
Heather observed the woman's eyes becoming wide and her lips opening slightly as though surprised to find her there as she eventually turned to gaze at her.
“Heather,” The woman whispered in shock.
“How do you know my name?” Heather enquired while startled. Given that they had never met, it seemed strange that the woman knew her name. Then suddenly, a light went on in her head. While it didn't seem conceivable, there was a potential that the woman knew her. She may be a person who was acquainted with her before to her memory loss.
“I…” Heather spoke out before the other person could finish her thought in an effort to provide an impossible question with an answer. While there may be little possibility of achieving the desired response, she was unable to control the unexpected optimism that suddenly arose within her.
“Have you and I ever met before?” She asked with an expectant look in her eyes
The woman gave her a sad smile and shook her head, making Heather disappointed, “No. I am afraid we have not.”
“But you know my name,” Heather pointed out, still wishing that lady might have lied to her.
“I do. I was expecting you here; however, I did not anticipate meeting you this soon. Perhaps, I misread the feelers.”
“Feelers?” A tiny frown appeared on Heather's face.
“Yes, child. It is kind of a signal, an invisible sign which told me about you coming to meet me. The reason is still unknown to me, but I know that there is the significance of you coming to Warsavor.”
“Significance, how? I do not understand. Further, this does not prove how you know my name,”
“It does. In addition to knowing your name, I am also aware of the despair you have been experiencing for a couple of years. You have started to question your identity because of your memory loss. Although your body may be here with me, but your spirit has been searching for the answers ever since you became lost. I can also feel the calmness filling up a section of your soul during the last few months. Further, you are not an average young lady but someone extraordinary with special abilities. You are made for bigger things.”
"All I am is a healer. I am not someone special like you believe I am.” Heather took a small step back, taken aback by the information the woman had revealed about her. She couldn't understand how she had such extensive knowledge of her without even knowing her.
“Of course, you are a healer,” The woman said with a tender smile, and her voice held warmth and affection, which she could not point out the reason behind. “Along with you being a sorcerer, you are also exceptional. I also know that you have the power to destroy anything and everything with your rage, but due to your kind soul and pure heart, you never went far with it.”
Heather was somewhat startled by her remarks. There were a few number of people who were aware of her ability, and nobody in Warsavor could know about it. The only person in Warsavor who knew was Alexander; everyone else who knew resided in Mystes. She was also certain he would never divulge this information to anybody. He has her faith.
“How did you learn so much about me? Who informed you?”
“No one did. I already know everything about you that I need to.” The woman said softly.
“How?”
“You don't have to be afraid of me. In truth, I have no malicious intentions toward you or anybody else. I believe that you are engulfed in fear with a sudden spur of information.”
"I must understand how," Heather insisted, but she made an effort not to seem demanding.
“How do you break the object with your eyes?” The woman gave a welcoming brow lift.
“I don’t know. It just happens.” Heather said. She seemed bewildered.
"That occurs to me as well. The world is filled with unexplainable powers which are yet to be explored. Each has one special quality. Some more than others, some more powerful than others. Some of their powers bloom early, while others never have the good fortune to do so. World is a mystical place, Heather...” The lady explained. As she was about to speak further to complete her sentence, Heather did it for her.
“One you cannot help but love yet at times detest.”
“You are absolutely correct,” She noticed a sense of pride in her eyes, and the woman gave her a knowing grin.
“If you anticipated my arrival and know so much about me, it only means one thing, you must be a…..” When awareness finally hit Heather, someone called the woman from the cottage entrance as she was ready to say it.
“Mabel,”
