Chapter 79

Heather was relieved that Juan was faring better. It has been a couple of weeks since the day Diona confessed that Alexander did not betray her. Ever since, her mind has been completely occupied.
“Alexander is truly an honorable man. Even though some part of me is raged with his step to marry Diona, I do believe Juan and Diona when they say that it was to save you.”
Heather looked at her father with teary eyes. Her father's words meant everything to her, and she was aware that he would never make a wrong decision on her behalf.
“I am scared,” she said. She still did not have the courage to accept their words.
However, she could not forego the moments she had witnessed affection between Juan and her cousin. Her cousin had done utterly wrong, yet Juan did not waste a moment to forgive her. Diona did what she had to save her mother's life, and Juan did not waste a moment sacrificing his life for Diona. Alexander was also working along the same line.
Whatever he did, it was for her benefit. She cannot hold a grudge or doubt longer than she already has.
It was not fair to both of them. She needs to find him and put an end to everything.
“It is okay to be afraid, but what is not okay is to live in the regret of not taking steps in the direction of your heart,” Arkin told her daughter.
He knew that she was in a challenging position, and it would not be easy for her to accept Alexander back after everything had happened. Her fear was also justified, but taking risks is also part and parcel of one’s life.
“I need to find him,” Heather said, and in reply, her father nodded with an encouraging smile.
She knew that she could not wait any longer and needed to commence her journey back to Warsavor. There was also a high chance that she might get executed, but she needed to do this. It was about time she showed herself again.
She and her family cannot live in fear. However, she also cannot be irrational. She needs to think rationally, as one wrong move on her part could tamper with everyone's safety.
As she was about to speak to her father about their next move and discuss a way to get in contact with Alexander, one of the guards knocked on the door.
“We have got an issue in hand, my lady.”
“What is wrong?” Heather asked him. She prayed that their whereabouts were not revealed. The plan of action was still in process, and she did not wish to endanger the lives of other people.
“We have got a trespasser, and he is adamant on not leaving the premises.” The guard informed her.
Heather was curious about the intruder. It was rather absurd for anyone to trespass in this region. Their home was located in one of the most protected areas, and without the inhabitants' watchful eyes, no one could enter their home, let alone their territory.
“Bring him to me,” Heather commanded.
After the guard nodded and left, she and his father went downstairs and sat in the drawing room, waiting for the invader's presence.
They were also joined by Mabel, Juan, and Diona. After Diona told Juan everything, the new couple chose to join an alliance with them. Juan knew that it was about time that the truth prevailed. He still did not remember her from two years before, but he trusted her like she had held her faith in him.
Further, he was still furious with the unidentified person who tried to kill Diona.
Even though Juan was well, he refused to leave Diona unguarded when the killer was still on the loose. It was of utmost importance to reveal the identity and bring that attacker to justice. That will be the key to everything.
However, all of them were utterly shocked to see the guards dragging Alexander on their feet towards them. None of them expected it to be him.
“Let me go. I am not here to harm anyone.” He growled.
“We do not entertain uninvited guests." The guard said sternly.
“Let go of me.” Alexander tried to free himself, but it was impossible.
"Leave him,” Heather muttered, making Alexander look at her for the first time in a long time.
One look and all the resistance left his body. He finally found her and was relieved that she was doing okay. In fact, she was looking spectacular and healthy in her white gown, sitting gracefully on the couch.
On the other hand, the guards were hesitant to let go of this man, but they could not deny their lady’s command.
They gave her a nod and left Alexander alone with Gonzale's family.
