Chapter 24

**Bella-Rose POV**

I quickly typed a message specifying my whereabouts and the address of the house and sent it to dad and Scott. I drove faster than ever before. They both live 30minutes away from me in the other direction. The address the mail guy specified is only 10 minutes away from me if I put the foot on the gas. Thankfully, there was no impending traffic due to the upcoming storm and I was able to reach the house in record time.

I checked the vicinity and the windows to see any sign of life. The locality the house is in is normally safe and a respected one. No sounds came out of the house. No movement. I tried one last time to call 911 before entering the house. The familiar beep-beep tune of the busy signal greeted me.

The rain started pelting down at a rapid speed. Huge droplets falling from the sky that soaked me through the bones in seconds. Trees swayed at the force the wind is blowing. I don't have time, if I don't enter now, then I couldn't take her out in this rain. I took out an umbrella from my back seat and ran towards the neighbouring home. It was separated from this home by a fence.

I didn't knock, I pounded on the door, shouting along the way, "Is anyone there? Hello?"

After my continuous banging for 2 minutes, the lights inside the home illuminated. I stopped breaking their door when it opened and a man in his 30s answered the door. He looked confusingly at my drowned state and asked, "Can I help you?"

He seems like a nice person. No yelling yet like-"it's half past 2 young ladies, what are you doing in front of my door! Go before I call the police for making unnecessary nuisance" or something.

Taking that as a big positive sign I asked him, "does anyone by the name Agatha live here?"

"Agatha? Oh yes. Yes. She lives next door. Is there any problem? Are you her niece or something? Did your car break down?", he asked looking at my car that was parked haphazardly.

"What? Oh no, no. Not me. You see, I got an email from some guy called James saying Agatha fainted complaining about some pain and he was stuck at some-", I stopped the curse before it left my mouth. No need to scare this poor guy. "Place. He asked to take her to the hospital. As all the lines were down, 911 was out of option. Would you help me with carrying her into my car? Please?", I asked, feeling the chill from my wet clothes.

"Agatha? Yes sure. Give me a second. I don't know anyone with the name 'James'. Must be someone she works with", the guy said as he took his wallet and locked the door behind him.

"Let's go. Do you know how long ago she may have fainted?", he asked me as we ran to the other side of the fence.

"I have no idea. Oh god! What if we are too late? I can never forget myself if something happens to her because of my overthinking", I cried to him. To this man whose name I don't know. Who I never saw or met before.

"Think positively. We don't know what she is ailing with. It may be major or it could be something minor. Guilt will only cloud your perspective. Let's load her into the car and go to the hospital. I'm sure she will be alright if we hurry", he said as we stepped foot on Agatha's porch. I closed my umbrella and put it on the side of the front door.

We never thought to consider if it's locked or not, we just barged in through the main door. And lying in her living room, clutching her phone, is an unconscious person.

"Oh my god!", I covered my mouth with my hands, thinking we are already late.

"Is she...is she alive?", I asked as we kneeled down beside her.

He checked her vitals, careful not to make any sudden movements. "Yes. She is. Thanks to you. It doesn't look like she may have broken something. It must be something internal. Quick. Grab her legs, I will carry the upper weight. Come on", the man said, thinking quickly on his feet.

We picked Agatha and moved faster in the pestering rain towards my car. Agatha got soaked along the way. But not too much to catch a chill. Once we laid her inside the backseat I rushed back into her home. I checked any nearby tables for her wallet or purse, grabbed it, and ran back to my car.

The man was still waiting patiently at my car, drenched in his night pants and t-shirt, my umbrella carelessly dangling from his hands.

"Will you...will you help me? Please? I never did this kind of thing before", I asked him pityingly.

"Of course. No need to ask. Hop in. We better hurry", he opened the door and buckled up in his seat. I drove just like before, keeping in mind not to make any sudden turns. We reached the nearest hospital with the guidance of the man. I should learn his name, calling him 'the man' is weird. If not for him I would have hightailed at the first step, not even reaching the front door.

"You go bring the stretcher or something. Alert the receptionist. I will try to lift her up", the man ordered taking charge of the situation.

Grabbing the wallet of Agatha in case the receptionist asks for identification, I dashed into the hospital.

"Quick, emergency. There is a lady who fainted I don't know how long ago. She complained about some pain. I don't know what's wrong with her. Help her, please", I said fast in one breath.

She quickly pressed a button on her phone for extension and ordered out to bring in the patient at the front.
"Ok, mam. Calm down. Can you please fill up this form in the meanwhile? Doctor Grey is at standby. He is a good doctor. A specialist in his field. Your aunt is in good hands. Not to worry, Doctor Grey will soon find out what's wrong with her."

I hope so. Please god, let her be ok. Someone close to her is worried sick. He must have loved her dearly to do everything in his power to help her. That kind of love is very rare. I wish someone would love me like that...like his. Please let her be alright, for his sake.
