THE BEGINNING OF THE END

KNIGHT

I am a bastard and the son of a King. I've found the woman who will teach me how to live my life without being enslaved by hatred, and she is none other than Antarteces, half of me.

Who would have guessed that this woman I met in the past and continue to meet in the present is the woman of my half? Hades was an enemy of mine, but having a cold heart towards someone will not lead you to the truth; instead, it will lead you to more hatred and a dark spiral path.

I've been a king's bastard, an angel, and a devil. What a fate I had, and I felt as if even the gods were against my existence.

The wind whispered in my ear, and it was a cold touch. "What are you doing here?" Antarteces inquired as she walked where I am. Like a wild flower, I can smell the fragrance of her perfume. Perfectly suited to her, her hair danced in the wind, and the stars and moon sparkled in her eyes. In my opinion, she was a goddess.

Before responding, I smiled. "Nothing serious, my love; just thinking about the fate we've had," I said as she gently gripped my hand and pressed her other hand against my cheek. Even though the air was cold, it was warm. I adore her warmth. I was cold, and she was the total opposite of me. It's too cheesy to say, but we get together. It keeps us in validation.

"What happens next?" she asked which was I am asking myself lately.

I hold her hand and just smiled. "Starting now we will not dictate what would or should be us tomorrow or in the future. Just go on the flow and just live as a commoner. But I have to ask you first, are you okay of living of just a simple life far away of this town?" I asked and she just smiled. A smile that always captivates my heart.



She sighed and giggled. "Of course you don't need to worry. As long as I am with you I am okay with it," she answered which makes me love her so much. I am so blessed of having her despite all.



I do not know if everything is totally fine now but I just hope that everything now is okay. Melecient is having it all taken care of everything. And I believe that if she didn't take it into her hands maybe the king of demons had already announced a war and innocent people would have died for it is a fight of heaven and underworld.



'I believe everything is fine now," Antarteces stated which makes me also believes in her words it was soothing and I felt like we are safe now.



I want us to start a new life away from this town. I already told this thing to Hades and somehow he is against into it because it not yet clear if everything now is safe but in the end he agreed in one condition.



We would live in a land far away from here but the land was like an enormous farm and had already farmers who would plant crops and everything. It was like the two of us, Antarteces, would be the hereditary of that place.





Earlier…



'Where do you plan next? I can hear voices in your head and I just want you to know in case you had forgotten," Hades said and he was right I've been thinking a lot lately and forgot that he can read minds specially me since I cannot blocked him totally.





I sighed and pour a drink into my glass. Look at the meadows and smiled at the view I want that kind of view together with her. 'I see," I simply said and he just nodded like he completely understands what I am pointing into.



He stands from his seat and took a glass and pour himself a liquor. Toss it in his mouth and gulp it. 'I will let the two of since I cannot stop the both of you from it in the name of love," he said which makes me laugh a little bit. It didn't come up in my mind that we would be in this kind of situation from now on and we would say a cheesy lines that involves the love. Look how crazy the love is. Love can do crazy things.



'I will let you in one condition," he said which makes me confuse of his now conditions. What is it now?



'Do you want to live far away from this town and I have this perfect place of mine that needs a person who will manage and I will give this land tile to the both of you. It is all yours and promise me that you two will take care of it. There are already framers there who planted crops, wheat's, fruits, vegetables, coffees, grapes for wine, everything that you need is there you can grow business in there and make a compensation for the farmers for them to have a good life here on earth. For a small things we can lessen that people who do no good. But you know humans, Knight. Do not tolerate if someone takes advantage of your kindness. Teach them a lesson but not the cruel part of course you know what I mean," he said and I totally got what he is pointing into.



'If that is what you want for us then I will gladly take it for your damn sake, Hades," I said and saw a trace of smile in his thin lips.



Hades took a sit and sighed. 'I think I already know what is going on," he said and I totally catch what he is talking about.



'Asmodeus and Melecient? If my guess was right then everything is fine now. I think Melecient had taken care of it. She loves Asmodeus even though their past was like a dark path that you didn't want to know but Asmodeus had gotten her trust though and Melecient learns to love her until then but we all know that she was in love with Eris by then. But we also both know what happened to Eris," I said and he just nodded and pour again a liquor in his glass and gives it a swirl.



'Love is the most precious thing. Look at us now and look even the king of demons and the goddess. That is what love can do," he said and I agreed with him.



Hades looked at me and say, 'Maybe right now or tomorrow Melecient will visit her daughter, Antarteces."



I know that someday the two of them will talk for the very first time and I am happy for Antarteces for she can see her mother and talk to her even for just in a meanwhile but there is something that is still bothering me.



'Still bothered of her being a daughter of a demon and a goddess?" Hades asked which makes me look at him. He just continues to give it a swirl of the liquor in his glass.



'Do not be bothered for Melecient knows well. She is one ahead foot of us. She knows what's to do. I bet she and Asmodeus already had talked about it. I guess they have decided since Antarteces in in your shield. They will make a potion of being a mortal one. A blood of a demon of the father and blood of the goddess mother with the antidote of the forbidden fruit it will be mixed and it shall be drink by the person that they wanted to turn into human, a mortal. Antarteces will be soon a vulnerable human so better take care of her. If it means to be her a human, meaning Melecient and Asmodeus had nothing to do anymore with her, and it takes as your responsibility by now. Are you ready for it?" he longly stated and I understand every word that he said.





'I completely understand everything. And I will not let any harm in her and those are my words and I never flips my back into my words. She is the love of my life," I said and after the serious talked we begin talking about our childhood memories.







ANTARTECES

I know he was somehow worried about me and about us. But I want him to feel that there is nothing to worry about anymore. For everything now is fine and I am happy as long as I with him, forever. I lost count since the day we settled here in Hades and Lissana's home of Knight having those thoughts away. Starting from the day that I regain my memories I am starting to hear thoughts and at first I was afraid because it might be devil or a creature that is wanting me. But then I later on learned that it was a skill of mine. I can hear the thoughts of my man, Knight. And I was sure that he indeed loves me with all of his heart which makes me love him more. He was not lying in every sentences that he uttered to me. His heart and intentions to me was pure and it was love.



And right now as I look at him and he doesn't even felt my presence I can hear his deep thought. He was still worried about me and about us. Worried of me because I am a daughter of a king of demons and a daughter of one of the goddess. I have this talent or a blood that can transform me away from myself but I got it completely under control. I didn't yet told Knight about what I am now capable but I will definitely will.



My mother came to visit me last night and even this Knight still doesn't know and the reason that he is still worried.



Last night...

It was a cold night and Knight was fast asleep. I was awakened by the cold and decided to get up and get a fur blanket for me to have a good sleep but instead I saw a light coming from the balcony of our room. I was hesitant at first but my legs were like having their own life and started walking. I slowly walked to where that light is and took a glimpse of Knight who is still sleeping soundly.

The balcony has a white curtain before you have to get out so which is why I can't see the person behind it. I am almost close and now can touch the curtain I close my eyes and walked through it. I want to wake Knight from his sleep but my legs won't let me run to him and my mouth can't even open for me to call him up.



There, I found a woman whose back was on me and her hair was flowing which looks like she was under water. She slowly turn her way to me and there I saw her face. It was beautiful that will make you speechless. She was as white as snow and her long hair was shiny blond. Her eyes were like an ocean and she was smiling at me like she misses or something.



"Antarteces, my daughter," she uttered which makes me frowned and maybe I am just dreaming or something that I can't explain. There I saw her feet floating on the ground. I took a step back but she stopped me.



"Do not be afraid for I am your mother, I am Melecient. And maybe Knight and Hades already introduce me to you," she said which makes me look at her more and didn't realize there was already a forming liquid in my eyes which she the woman who said my mother immediately wipe my tears away using the back of her hand.



She hushed me and kiss the top of my head. It was gentle and it was motherly. The feeling that I didn't felt before until I got older.



"I know, I know what you are feeling right now and I am asking for your forgiveness for what I have done. You didn't deserve everything that had happened to you. I witnessed all of your struggles. And I hated myself for that for I can't even help you even though I am one of the gods. Imagine being one of the gods who can't even help the fate of her or his child is the most heart breaking scene that I witnessed everyday but there is no much pain than your feeling my daughter. And now that everything is cooling down I am here to take you home," she said which makes me stop from breathing.



What did she say? Take me home? But this is my home. She stopped brushing my hair using her hand and looked at me and to the person who is sleeping and smiled.



"Oh, you are home already," she said and tear escape from her eyes which I also wipe it away. This was the first time that I have touch my mother's face. It was a treasure and I hope we can still see each other again. I also want to see my father and I don't care who he is as long as he loves me and he was my true father then I love him.





She sighed and kiss me on my cheek. 'You are home and I trust Knight that he will take care of you. And please after this maybe we don't get to see each other again but who knows maybe I can sneak out and you know we two will meet each other again." She giggled which makes me giggled too. She is a goddess but she intends to break the rule for me. She looks cute too and now I wonder what my father's look like.



She looked at me as if she reads what is running through my mind and I should be surprise to that because she was a god. 'Do you want to know what your father looks like? Oh you know what a beast look like? A monkey look like? That is your father," she said which makes us both earned a laugh and I hope it didn't wake Knight at all.



'Do not be worried, he won't hear us both I put a dust wall here so that he can't hear our noises of being girls you know," she said which earned me a laugh. Oh I want this kind feeling having a bonding of my mother and I will treasure this till I get old. No one can told of when we will again meet each other.



'Maybe one day he will come and visit you to meet you of course. He is dying to see you. He knows I am paying you a visit and as much that he wanted to be with us he had taken care of something," she said and I fully understand her and even my father.



With the wave of her hand two cloudy chair pop up and a table. She gestured me to sit and so I did. She snap her fingers and a cup of tea pop out. We were about to talk again when someone spoke behind us and mother took it by surprise and I saw a man dressed in black suit looking classy and he was floating in the air and I can't see his face because of the glimpse of the moon. He slowly walked in the air and then I saw his face. He was smiling at me and mother holds my hand.





'I thought you couldn't make it," she said but the man in front of me just kiss her in a smack and winked on her.



'That was your thought my love. Hello dear," he said and get my hand and gently kiss the top of it.



I look at my mother and she was smiling at me and nodded. 'He is your father," she whispered in the air which I completely catch what she had uttered. I look at the man who is in front of me and I must admit it was not that I was expecting from a face of a devil.



'You are surprise huh? Honey, he is a devil he can make up faces." My mother said and laughed.



'I'll let that pass tonight but you are going to pay for it. I am good at collecting payments my love," he said smiling but his eyes were on me.



'Tonight is the most precious time that I got for now I have my own daughter. She is in front of me," he said and he gently pushes me to his chest and embrace me.



'My child forgive me for I was not by your side until you have come of age. A king like me is nothing for I can't even see or take care of my daughter please forgive me," he said which makes me hug him tightly and kiss the top of his head and whispered.



'I understand the both of you and I am grateful that you two are here for me and I learned what you have done. I love the both of you and thank you for not creating a war. Knight had explained to me everything," I said and he pulled out from our embrace and smiled at me and to my mother.



'So you are not coming with us?" he said and I slowly shakes my head.



'I completely understand that you already found your home and I am not against to it. I just want you to be happy and be free. Choose your happiness and what your heart wants and we will continue to support you even if we are far from each other. Hades already told us where you will go and I am also grateful of this man. He is also rooting for the both of you and so is Lissana," he said and I nodded.



We talked of for hours before we realized it was getting early in the morning. We have so much fun even though it was just a couple of hours they makes me feel having a family for years.



But before they left, dad touches the back of my neck where the birthmark of mine and I felt a cold liquid dripping into it. My mom look at me and nodded, it was the potion I guess and I am now transforming into a human nothing to worry about now.





'From now on you are now a mortal and I together with your mother blessed you being a mortal now but there is only one thing that you should take note. However if you have reach the age of 30 maybe there is at least forty percent that this birth mark of yours will get back and you have to ring us with that. You can reach out Hades if Knight is having trouble reaching us but nothing to worry about that for I will be searching for an antidote again until everything is fine and I promise you that for now you have nothing to worry about," he said and after that he kissed my cheek goodbye.



Mother gently squeezed my hand and look at me. This is my gift for you not to forget us. She showed me a white clam and slowly opened it. It was a gold necklace and the pendant was a gold pearl and I can see my name engraved into it even though the pendant was too small.



'Did you see your name into it? I made it especially for you and if you want to see us just roll it with your fingers twice and look at the sky may it be day or night a star will twinkle and you will see it. We are looking at you and so are you my child. We love you so much please take care of yourself huh and remember everything that we said. We love you and nothing can change that," she said and I nodded and before they left I shed tears which my mother run into me and embrace me and so is dad.

















"What are you doing here?" I inquired as I walked to where he is. A wind blew my hair that I instantly tucked it into my ear. He smiled and I return the gesture back. I love him so much may it be in the past and in present nothing changed.

"Nothing serious, my love; just thinking about the fate we've had," he said as I gently gripped his hand and pressed my other hand against his cheek. I can hear his thoughts and I want to laugh at his cheesiness but I should not. One day when we already got settled down that is the time that I will tell him everything but right now I should just let things down.

"What happens next?" I asked even though I know he always asked that from himself.

But wait he can read my mind too. But lately even though I am calling his name through my mind he doesn't even look at me or turn around. Why is the question about that? Is there something a word block in hearing or reading a thought? Maybe I did that to him and now I don't know how to reset it? My, what a skill of having a reset. I want to laugh at my own thoughts.





'I believe everything is fine now," I stated and there was trust in his eyes.



'I hope so too, my love. I hope so too," he said and looked at me cupped my face and gently kissed my lips which I slowly responded.



He place his forehead into mine and looked at me intently in the eyes.



'You are the most precious thing that happened into my miserable life. All those times and days that I didn't even felt your existence I was a fool. And I am thankful that you didn't lost your faith on me until I get my eyes open," he said and I cupped his face with my hands and tip my nose into his nose and we both laugh.



'All of that was true and of course that word was completely and absolutely true," I said which gotten him curious.



'What word?" he asked gripping my hand for he knows so well that I run into him.



I laughed a little bit trying to get out from his grip before I burst into laugh I know he will again tickle me to death.





'Come on, Antarteces, tell me that word of yours that completely and absolutely true come now blurt it out now," he said and I can't help now but to burst into laugh even though the tickling part is not yet starting I can feel it in his eyes by now.





'Nothing, stop it now, Knight," I said and rolled my eyes on him.



'I am not letting you go until you tell me that word is come on now I won't bite I will definitely welcome that word of yours with all my heart and no hatred just full of kindness. Just pure kindness, come on, Antarteces spill it out now," he said and I managed to kick him resulting him to let go of me. I laughed so hard while he was chasing me into our room. All we do was circling around the bed chasing each other.





'You badly wanted to know that word huh," I said and he just glared at me. The glare that I couldn't resist. He was so much handsome and irresistible.





'That word is ‘fool' that is completely true. You are a fool. A complete package of fool. A perfect living description of fool is now chasing on me," I yelled while laughing and he shakes his head while laughing with me.



We chased each other until he caught me for I was tired of circling around. He gripped my waist and planted kisses in my neck and I was there giggling at his actions.





'I love you," he said and I can't help but to kiss him.



'I love you too, my Knight."







Together they both lived far away from the city. The two started a new life. A family that they can call their own. A child that they could treasure for their whole life. But of course Knight is still preparing for what is coming next. For he knows very well the gods and even the evils.
