Chapter 103 Celebratory party
"What do you mean by that?" Marilyn was blue in the face.
Asher said coldly with a slight frown, "In addition to changing color as the light changes, your design of 'Follow Your Heart' is similar to 'Ice and Fire' in several other ways. That's because you took Nora's design drawings and turned it into 'Follow Your Heart' after making some changes on its basis."
Marilyn heard this and involuntarily trembled under Asher's powerful aura.
She took a few deep breaths and forced herself to calm down, "What proof do you have?"
Asher glanced at Marilyn with his stern eyes and in a cold voice, "Jerome Hernandez has admitted that he had stolen Nora's design drawings and had sold them to you."
Jerome Hernandez?
Nora was slightly surprised when she heard Asher's words.
If she remembered correctly, Jerome was only a design assistant in the design department and had just joined the company less than a year ago.
Jerome had not participated in the "Ice and Fire" project. So how could he have stolen the drawings and sold them to Marilyn?
Marilyn's face turned pale as soon as she heard these words.
The design drawings of "Ice and Fire" had indeed been sold to her by Jerome. She had thought that the design was very creative at the time, and when she had been told that it had been designed by an unknown secretary of the Hawn Group, she had gotten a wicked idea.
She and the boss of L'amour Jewelry had thought it over and decided to launch "Follow Your Heart" in order to fight against the Hawn Group and keep the status of L'amour Jewelry in the jewelry industry. They even defamed the Hawn Group for plagiarism in the press conference of the Hawn Group today.
But to her surprise, she suffered a crushing defeat today...
Not only had Nora invited Nana to point out that the original creator of "Follow Your Heart" was Leo, but now Asher also found out who had stolen the design drawings from the Hawn Group and sold them to her.
"And I have just had someone check out this 'Wind and Cloud' magazine, and it's confirmed to be a fake." Asher hit the nail on the head, "You got Nora's design drawings a month ago, and how could you have published that article two months ago?"
"I..." Marilyn bit her lip and was about to say something when suddenly the large screen in the center of the conference hall lit up.
It showed a series of proofs that many of Marilyn's works were copied, and even her graduation designs were copied from her classmates.
However, Marilyn had easily smoothed things over because she had a powerful and influential father, who had built up her image as an international jewelry designer with money.
With the irrefutable evidence in front of her, Marilyn's face was dreadfully pale as she shouted, "Turn it off! Turn it off!"
But no one listened to her at all.
"I never thought that Marilyn, an internationally renowned designer, was such a person, who not only plagiarized but also invented a charge against others for plagiarism.
"Bah! I've always admired her as an international designer and studied her work, but it turns out it's all plagiarism!"
Everybody was talking about it. The image as a jewelry design master that Marilyn had managed to create in the past few years collapsed at once.
Looking down at Marilyn, who had become a person hated by everyone, Nora could not help but smile.
She had not expected Asher to find out so many skeletons in the closet about Marilyn in just two days.
This time, Marilyn could not get away with it.
Faced with the overwhelming abuse and accusations, Marilyn's face twisted. Seeing that there was nothing she could do to turn the tables, she simply pretended to faint and fell to the ground.
Security guards came and took Marilyn out.
"Well, let's stop here about the plagiarism thing. I solemnly declare that we, the Hawn Group, have always been adhering to the principle of customer first and striving to do the best in everything. No matter what, we will never do something like plagiarism that will damage the company's reputation!"
Nora's speech won thunderous applause from everyone present.
After the controversy of the so-called plagiarism, the press conference of "Ice and Fire" was an unprecedented success.
Right after the press conference, many companies expressed their interest in "Ice and Fire" and hoped to obtain the distributorship.
Bruce was also greatly satisfied with the conference.
"We will hold a celebratory party in the evening and hope everyone will join us." Nora said with a smile.
Asher slightly lowered his head and said in Nora's ear, "I will pick you up in the evening."
Nora smiled back, and her lips almost crashed into Asher's.
The intimate interaction between the two looked particularly harsh to Brittany's eyes.
Brittany had thought that Nora would be convicted of plagiarism today in any case, but she had reversed the situation beautifully! What a loser Marilyn was!
A flash of viciousness crossed Brittany's eyes.
Nevertheless, she had prepared a "great gift " for Nora at tonight's celebratory party.
"Nora, just you wait!"
The party was held at the Grand Royal Hotel in A City.
Bruce happened to be staying at the Grand Royal Hotel.
After the press conference, he went back to his room to take a rest. He was just about to change his clothes for the party when the doorbell rang.
Thinking it was a room attendant, Bruce opened the door to his room, only to see Annie standing outside the door.
"Annie, what are you doing here?" Bruce had an impatient look in his blue eyes, "I've made it very clear to you that we have broken up."
"I know." Annie lowered her eyes and said obediently, "Bruce, I didn't come over here to pester you today."
Bruce had a puzzled look on his face, "Then what are you doing here?"
Annie compressed her lips and then said softly, "I know I went too far in what I did before, especially to Miss Smith. I shouldn't have hated her. She blamed me because I was wrong in the first place. I'm sorry for what I did before."
After a pause, she continued, "Therefore, I implore you to take me to the party tonight, and I hope to formally apologize to Nora."
"Well..." Bruce pondered thoughtfully.
Seeing that Bruce was considering, Annie kept on saying, "Bruce, I do know what I did was wrong. Please give me a chance to apologize to Nora, can you?"
"Okay!" Since Annie seemed to have sincerely mended her ways, Bruce finally agreed to help.
The party was held at eight o'clock in the evening.
Many of the celebrities had already arrived at the banquet hall before 8, and there were all kinds of reporters carrying video cameras.
The press conference this afternoon was exciting enough, maybe there would be something more exciting happening at the party?
No one would like to miss any news.
"Mr. Hawn has arrived!" Someone called out and the crowded and lively banquet hall suddenly fell silent.
