Chapter 121 I thought I was going to die

Asher's handsome face turned slightly gloomy once he heard Nora say that she was leaving.
Did she want to leave because of his mother's words just now, or because...
"Nora, my mother is such a person. Don't take what she said to heart." Asher suddenly took a step closer to Nora and reached out to grab her shoulders.
His eyes were deep with a strange glint in them and his voice was low and dark as he said, "Trust me, I will handle my mother and I won't let her make things difficult for you again."
When Nora looked into Asher's dark eyes, her heart slowed down by half a beat.
She took a step back and changed the subject with a smile, "Let's not talk about this now. If we don't leave, we'll be late."
Asher's eyes returned to their usual indifference and he said lightly, "Let's go!"
The two of them arrived at the airport and Asher stopped in front of a Boeing airliner with Nora.
"This is your plane?" Nora took a look at the luxurious plane in front of her.
Her grandfather had wanted to buy her a plane like this for her birthday, but she had refused because she was afraid of heights.
"Mr. Hawn, Miss Smith," the captain and flight attendant stood respectfully at the door to greet Asher and Nora.
"Let's board." Asher took Nora's hand and led her to board the plane.
The plane took off and soon went into the clouds.
At 100,000 feet high, Nora sat beside Asher, her eyes blandly looking out the window at the clouds.
"What's on your mind?" Asher suddenly spoke up and asked lightly in Nora's ear.
"Nothing." Nora turned around, met Asher's deep eyes, and cleared her throat, "I was wondering who the hell could be messing with the Hawn Group."
"We'll know when we get to France soon." Asher smiled, "Stop thinking so much and let's have a drink. What would you like to drink?"
Nora thought for a moment and said, "Orange juice."
Asher called the flight attendant and said in a deep voice, "A glass of orange juice, please."
"Yes, a moment, please." The stewardess said with a smile on her face.
Five minutes later, the stewardess made the orange juice and brought it to Nora, "Miss Smith, your orange juice."
"Thanks." Nora took the orange juice and was about to drink it when suddenly the plane lurched and descended rapidly.
"Ah!!!" Nora exclaimed.
At the same time, the lights on the plane went out and it was dark all around.
The sense of weightlessness caused Nora to tremble and the endless darkness surrounded her with a sense of dread.
Some pieces of memory seemed to flash in her mind.
It was as if she had fallen into an abyss of ten thousand feet and was surrounded by darkness as she kept falling down...
The feeling was so real that it felt as if it had actually happened.
Nora reached out and tried to grasp something but could not hold on to anything.
The desperate fear spread through Nora's body.
"Help me..." Nora's face was pale as she cried out in a panic.
Asher stretched out his long and slender arms and held Nora tightly in his arms. He asked with concern, "Nora, are you alright?"
Asher's broad and warm embrace made Nora's heart settle down slightly and she subconsciously hugged Asher tightly. She said with fear after suffering a disaster, "I'm so scared."
"Don't worry. The plane has just encountered turbulence." Feeling Nora's reliance on him, Asher could not help smiling.
Soon, the plane regained its calm and the lights came on.
Nora's face burned as she realized she was holding Asher tightly and she let go of him in a hurry, "I'm sorry, I was embarrassing just now."
"It's just a little accident." Asher said in a deep voice with a faint glint of concern in his eyes.
"I was scared to death..." Nora patted her chest and let out a long breath, "I thought I was going to die."
"I didn't realize you were so chicken." Asher said with a smile on his face.
Most of the time, Nora was calm, composed, independent, and strong, rarely did she have such panic and fear.
Nora took a deep breath to ease her mind, "You don't know what I fear the most are the dark and the height. I was scared for sure because I had encountered both just now."
Asher held Nora's hand and said with his eyes gentle and firm, "Don't be afraid. I'm here with you."
The warmth of Asher's hand was transmitted to her fingertips and a warm feeling crossed Nora's heart.
In fact, this man was wonderful.
If there was no Mia, she thought she would have accepted him.
But now...
Nora sighed lightly, withdrew her hand, and said calmly, "Thank you."
Sensing the obvious rejection of the woman beside him, Asher's eyes dimmed a bit.
He looked sideways and said in a low voice with his gaze deep, "Nora, are you really not willing to accept me?"
Nora was stunned for a moment and came back to her senses, "Asher, this is not the time to discuss this matter. Have you forgotten the purpose of our trip to France? The Hawn Group is in trouble now, how could you be in the mood to think about that?"
"Trouble?" Asher smiled gently, his handsome face calm and confident, "This is a minor matter, not quite a trouble."
Well...
In fact, Nora did not think it was a big deal, but it still took a lot of work to find out who was behind it.
The rest of the trip was smooth and the plane did not encounter any more turbulence.
Nora breathed a small sigh of relief when the plane landed.
Jones and Bruce were already waiting for them at the airport in France.
As soon as Nora and Asher stepped off the plane, Bruce greeted them, "Hi, Mr. Hawn, Miss Smith, it has been a long time."
"Hello, Mr. Bruce." Nora had a polite smile on her face as she reached out to shake Bruce's hand.
"Mr. Hawn, we have detected substandard raw materials with radioactive elements in one of Factory One's warehouses." Jones reported to Asher in haste.
"So, there is a problem with the raw materials?" Asher's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Mr. Hawn, I am sorry. I am also responsible for this." Bruce sounded guilty. It had, after all, happened in France where the products produced by the French branch factory were distributed by Bruce's Lady Fashion.
"Bruce, let's go together and see what exactly happened." Asher said with a serious look in his eyes.
"Mr. Hawn, why don't you and Miss Smith go to the hotel and have some rest first. You have traveled a long way..." Jones looked at Nora, who had a tired look on her face, and suggested.
"No, let's go to Factory One now," Nora shook her head as she couldn't wait to find out the truth.
