I found myself taking graceful strides, before I stared at her intently, she was looking at me, waiting for my to say the unexpected.
“We need to head east, towards the pack I have Always dreaded because your lives here are at Stake” I said, taking graceful strides towards the door, only for her to stop moving she stared at me, with a confused expression, she wanted me to explain things even more vividly for her.
“We are leaving this pack immediately because you are not safe, I'll like you to start packing” I said rushing, she narrowed her gaze at me.
" If here is not safe, then where could be possible be safe, I'll like us to stand as one and let's fight this together” she tried to reason things with me, but I was not buying it, Lord Richard is back, and I won't want to afford losing my mate in his hands.
" Just take back the goddamn bags and let's leave" I shouted, already feeling frustrated, she stared at me with a shock expression, but what I needed to do was to be out of here, and meet Rowland, so we can discuss this.
“Let's go” I ordered this time because I don't want to start her nagging, but she stood still, she didn't even move an Inch, I then went close to her, before I managed to cupped her cheeks, making her look at me, which she did.
" Please let's go, we don't have much time and much worse, we would be killed here" I tried to reason out, by softening my voice.
" You are running away from your alpha responsibilities” she attempted to guilt-trip me.
" No I'm not, I'm only attempting to protect you, when I'm certain that you are protected, I'll be at ease, you know I don't have any weakness, but you are my only weakness, so please just do this, just this one's, follow me to the pack, then we can know what to do Okay" I said to her, she then nods her head, before I shoved everything Inside the truck, then she sat beside it, we started moving towards the pack I have dreaded for years, the pack I have always wanted to over claim, but today I can't do that, I'll have to seek refuge from them.
The Ride was Long, because of the silence, I was expecting her to say something, but she didn't; I also don't want to start up a conversation that might eventually lead to anything unhealthy, I took a deep breath before I started.
" I'm sorry, I know by bringing you here, I should have given you a better life, But things was taking a bitter turn, for that, I'm sorry, please forgive me” I apologized.
" I know you are trying to protect me, but endeavor to remember about the people you left back there, am I the only person who needs protection” she said, while looking at me, I maintained eye contact on the road, while listening to her.
I know she's right, but I can't possibly, start anything that might eventually lead to distraction, it made me took a mouthful of air, trying as much to calm myself.
“So are you suggesting we go back?” I asked, she immediately nodded her head.
" No we are not going back, I'll eventually take you to pack where I hated most” I said with so much authority etched in my voice, I hate the fact, I took a mouthful of air because I was already getting restless, I then noticed that she was looking at the side mirrors, I regretted for acting overprotective, but I just can't help it because she is my weakness, and she knew how to make me weak.
The drive was Long and silent, I muster enough courage to say a word, so I decided to keep quiet, after sometime, I then noticed that we are already in the neighboring pack, I then packed my car, I took a deep breath before I opened the door for her, I know she was giving me the silent treatment, but I have no other options, but to allow things slide, I took a deep breath, trying to observe my environment, I can't believe I'm seeking refuge in a pack I have always hated with all the power bestowed on me.
I then noticed Rowland came out of his apartment with Emily, I was surprised because she was looking even more healthy and beautiful, her face was glowing, I Inhaled her scent, before my eyes dart to the mark on her neck, I was immediately aware that she was already taken, by Rowland, even from his scent that engulfed her.
" Well… Well… well, look what we have here, I can't believe the whole alpha himself is here with his mate” Rowland mocked, I can't even understand myself either, I should have gone to other packs, by why can't I deny the trust I have for this pack, that this is the only certain pack who can protect my mate.
I was about to say something, only to see Diana rushed towards Emily, before she immediately embraced her In a very welcoming hug.
" I can't believe you are here, I Miss you so much” Diana said, expressing her emotions, it was evidently clear, that she knew her from somewhere, and that's something I can't understand, how did they meet.
I took the opportunity to have a walk with Rowland because the matter we have at hand is very critical, I took a deep breath before I started.
" I apologize for coming to your pack uninvited, I'll like to keep my mate here with you for a while, before I try to handle things with my pack members…” I pursed, before I continued," please do this for me, I know we have countless differences, but can we keep that aside and let's protect the ones that we love because right now, they are in a very vulnerable situation" I finally breathe, he stopped walking before he stared at me with a confused expression?
" What could that be, that had lowered your pride to this extent?” he asked, I took a mouthful of air, before I said.
" It's lord Richard" " lord Richard?... you mean lord Richard is back?” he asked evidently shocked just the way I was, I just couldn't explain the situation, how he survived, everyone knew he was dead, but how did he come to life, is something no one could ever fathom, I took a mouthful of air, before I nod my head, I then noticed that he was close to me, before he pat my back.
" Everything will be alright, we would overcome him together” he said, which made me open my eyes wide in shock, never did I expect that from him, I came to realize I have always been the one who hated him, I have always been the one who tried to bring him down, but I never knew he could still have the mind to say such to me, to even care to talk about it.
“I'm deeply sorry Raymond, I… I meant about the past” I apologized, unable to find my voice, I Just couldn't bring myself to say a word, so I decided to just keep quiet, that's when I heard the sound of approaching steps towards me, I then noticed a lady who seemed to be in her fifties, she was barely walking, she stood in front of me, before she said.
" The moon has shown the power of both of you, the time has come to unveil the catastrophic events, to rain blood, and served bones”.
When those Words left her mouth, I creased my brows, unable to understand a single word that escape her lips, why would she is telling us this?
" You need to go back to your house” Raymond said gently, Almost like he knew that is how she sometimes talks, I took a mouthful of air, before I started taking graceful strides to leave, he then stopped to look at me.
" Raph, even though we are not in good terms, we have to do this for our mates, we have to come together to defeat Richard because if you want to do alone, I can assure you, you will definitely fail" he said those abruptly, those Words hit me hard, I took a mouthful of air, before I noticed that there are things I can't stop myself from doing because he is right, those Words might seem untrue, but I know that he is right.
