Chapter 27
**Nerissa POV**
“And where do you think you are going?”
Hearing a strong male voice coming off from behind me, made me jump slightly as he startled me.
I turned around and was met with a tall, masculine male, with stormy silver eyes, and golden ruffled hair whose ends slightly fell over his eyes, the eyes that seemed so amused as his eyebrow was arched up, waiting for my reply.
He slowly crossed his arms over his chest, saying, “Well? Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?”
I looked back out, thinking of my options, when he added, stopping me firmly in my plans, “As much as I love to play catch, I would highly advise you to not even consider taking such an option as I am in no mood to chase you around, and If I am forced to do so, well, let’s just say it would not be a pleasant chase for you when I catch you, and I will catch you.” A dark smirk appeared on his lips, making my eyes grow wide, swallowing thickly as my plan to jump over the window fast and make a run for it was long forgotten.
Nodding his head as he saw my defeat, a snort sounded as it passed through his lips. His eyes pierced down, looking at my leg that was still hanging out of the window, silently urging me to pull it back up inside.
As I pulled my leg inside, I looked over at him, wondering who he was. Deciding it would be better to know than to wonder, I asked him, “Who are you?”
“All in good time, precious.” He said, turning his back at me, slowly walking away, stopping just a few steps away as he looked over his shoulder, and said, “Follow me and you will find out all you need to know.”
Moving away from the window, I slowly followed after the unknown male, keeping a safe distance from him, not stopping until we reached a door that he opened up, and holding them for me to enter inside before him.
I walked past him, entering the spacious room, noticing we were in the office.
The sound of a door closing behind me reached my ears as the male walked slowly towards me, pointing at the seating area, “Take a seat, and I will bring us something to drink.”
Walking towards a leather chair, I sat down quietly, keeping my eyes onto him, watching him pouring in two crystal glasses some drink.
Soon as he was done, he took both drinks and walked towards me, giving me one glass as I took it, looking at him skeptically, making him laugh at me as he sat down on the other chair opposite mine.
“You really are a gem, Nerissa.” He said in between laughs as I watched him with narrowed eyes.
“Who are you?” I repeated my previous question, waiting for his answer.
Finally, his laugh subdued down as his eyes looked over at mine, he answered, “My name is Randall. I am Prince of the Dark Fae.”
My eyes grew hearing his answer. A Dark Fae Prince?
He was silently observing me, while my mind was running a thousand miles per hour, trying to process all information.
I looked back at him, seeing his eyes never leaving me, I asked, “Where am I?”
He played with his drink in his hand before he answered, saying, “You are in my world, or in better words, you darling, are in the Dark Fae world.”
‘Ok, so my thoughts were right as he just confirmed me where I am.’ I said to myself.
“What am I doing here?” I asked him once again, watching him as he leaned over to place his drink down onto the table, making himself comfortable in his chair, looking at me for a minute longer before he answered, “You are really special, Nerissa, and your beauty is just an added bonus.”
I looked at him in confusion, not really understanding what he was saying. Noticing my confusion he chuckled, opening his mouth to speak when the door to the room opened, making us both turn our heads to see who was at the door, noticing a female standing in the doorframe, her eyes blazing as they looked over the two of us in silence.
I took her in as my eyes skimmed all over her. She was wearing all black. A tight black pants with high heels, knee-length boots, her upper body was covered with what looked like a black corset with long sleeves.
Her dark, black hair, that fell in waves past her shoulders, surrounded her slim face, making me notice how beautiful her features were. Her lips were plum red, high cheekbones, and a straight nose. Her eyes were dark, almost looking like deep black pools, making me feel like I was drawing just by looking into them too long. I looked away, trying to control my rapidly beating heart while the female smirked and slowly walked inside the room, not stopping until she took a seat on a couch near us.
“Nerissa, let me introduce you to Hilda, my dear witch,” Randall said as he looked over at the female who was silently observing me.
I was feeling uncomfortable under her silent gaze, when suddenly she turned around and looked over Randall as she said, “She is the one.”
My eyes kept going from Randall to Hilda, trying to figure out what she was saying.
Noticing my discomfort, Randall smirked at me as he said, “Perfect.”
“What are your plans with Reynard?” Hilda asked him, moving her eyes to look once again over at me.
“The plan, as he knows of, will continue ongoing. Make sure of it Hilda because I am not accepting any mistakes.” Randall said in a stern voice, eyes cold as he looked over at her.
She gave him a big smile while I couldn’t bear not knowing what is really going on here.
Looking at them both, I asked, “What do you mean by I am the one? What do you want from me?”
Randall silently observed me, while Hilda stood up, taking slow predatory steps, walking closer and closer, not stopping until she reached my chair, taking a seat on the armrest.
Her eyes never leaving mine, she raised her hand, and I could see her long, dark nails, coming closer towards my cheek, making me feel as it glided over the delicate skin of my cheek, drawing it down, lower towards my chin, making my heart to beat faster, making it hard for me to control my fear, but I was determinate not to show it, or at least how much I was afraid.
She surprised me as she grabbed my chin, pulling my head up, forcing me to look her deep into her dark eyes.
I closed my eyes as I couldn’t look at her. The feeling of dizziness and disorientation wrapped around me the moment I looked up towards her.
“Open your eyes girl or I will force them to open and look into mine,” Hilda said, her voice cold, sending shivers to run down my spine.
Swallowing, I silently said to myself encouraging words, opening my eyes to look deep into here’s.
“Do not look away and just relax. It will be over before you know it.” She said to me, running her thumb across my cheek, making me flinch a little, from disgust and from fear.
Chuckling sounded from Randall as he said, “I like her already. Feisty and beautiful…”
“Be quiet, please. I need to concentrate.” Hilda said to him, not removing her eyes from mine as he snorted as a response to her demand, but he kept quiet as I could feel like warmth was slowly engulfing me all around.
My mind started to feel clouded as a dark smoke raised inside, showing sharp dark claws scratching inside my head, searching for something as I tried to fight them away.
My strength was no match to her powers when finally she pulled away from the claws and the darkness making me able to see around me as I gasped for air the moment she moved her hand away from my chin and walked away back to her seat on the couch.
Randall turned to her and asked, “Well?”
She raised her hand to inspect her nails as she answered him, “It is the perfect time for it. Her phoenix is away, sleeping, preparing for peperit. To be awakened on her birthday, which happens to be on the same day as the Red Moon.”
Clasping his hands together, Randall said, “Good, then make all arrangements for both to go as planned and do not make him suspect anything. I will later deal with him.”
Hilda nodded her head as at the same time a knock sounded making Randall say loudly, “Come inside, Reynard.”
The door opened, and Reynard walked inside. His eyes fell down on me, making him stop and look at the three of us, saying, “What is going on here?”
