Chapter 42
**Allister POV**
“And what is your plan?”
I waited for Reynard to answer, looking deeply into his eyes.
Warit and Rhea were both silent behind me, listening to our conversation.
Reynard took a deep breath, groaning as he felt the pain by doing such action, making me roll my eyes, feeling impatient and irritated.
He looked at me and finally answered, “My plan is to take back what is rightfully mine.”
His eyes were fierce as he said that, making me narrow mine as I tried to see if there was something behind his words.
Standing up, I extended my hand and gave it to him as he looked at me confused, so I said, “You want to take your brother down, I get it, and I don’t mind, you or me as long as he is away I am not complaining. I am guessing you got beat up by him?”
He grabbed my arm, and I pushed him up, making him groan out in pain. Holding his ribs, he said, “Not one of my proud moments, but I want to make sure he pays for it.”
“Hmm…” I said, listening to him as I noticed Warit staring at me, confused about my own intentions.
“I wanted to ask for your help,” Reynard said to me as I raised my hand that started to glow, slowly opening the portal.
His eyes went fast back and forth, looking at me, then at the portal.
I could see him swallow down as he rushed to speak, “I would really need your help. You are the ruthless warrior of the Underworld. Everyone has heard the stories about you and your army.” He was rambling fast, looking at the portal that was opening up wider and wider as I quietly stood there, listening.
“Whatever it is you wish in return, I will give it to you soon as I take my rightful title and am the Alpha of Draconis, you have my word!” He said loudly as the wind around us raised up, carrying noises from Fae that were fighting to extinguish the fire that was all around us.
I looked at him, not saying any word as Warit called my name, “Allister?”
Without turning towards Warit, I said to him, “Go through the portal.”
Warit walked closer to me, followed by Rhea, saying, “Allister? But…”
Before he could finish his thought, I turned my head towards him and repeated, “Go through the portal and take Rhea with you. Now, Warit!”
He stood there, silently watching me for a moment as I looked at him with a stone face, showing no emotions but only determination.
Warit took Rhea by her hand and said to her, “Let’s go, Rhea.”
“But what about Allister?” she asked, while he slowly led her towards the portal, making her look from him back to me and Reynard.
They stopped right in front of the portal as she asked the question, making Warit turn his head and look at me one last time before he replied to her, “He will follow us soon.”
I could see her eyes looking at me in silent question, waiting to see if Warit was right, so I gave her a nod, confirming his words to her.
Seeing my silent answer, she smiled at me slightly, turning around as the two of them stepped inside the portal and were gone in the next moment.
“Allister?” I heard Reynard call my name, making me growl at him as an answer.
I turned my focus back to him, saying in a low cold voice, “You do not have the permission to call me by my name.”
He swallowed thickly, lowering his eyes to the ground for a moment as he felt my aura of power radiating out in waves off of me. He said, “I am sorry, Dark King.”
Smirking at him, I took a step closer to him, saying, “Good, now let’s go.”
He looked at me, surprised by my words, asking, “Go? Where?”
“To the Underworld so we can in peace discuss things.” I simply replied.
He eyes the portal as I walked away from him, towards it, stopping at its entry, silently waiting for him to join me.
He slowly dragged himself next to me as I said, “Step inside it I will follow behind, closing the portal.”
Nodding his head, he did as I instructed him and was gone in the next second, making me follow closely behind him, closing the portal behind us.
Exiting the portal, we found ourselves in the grand hall, hearing gasps sounded by some of my commoners as a rush of footsteps sounded, opening the door, making me see my warriors enter inside the grand hall, and stopping in their attempt to capture the intruder.
“It is ok, he is with me,” I spoke loudly, with a firm, strong voice to my warriors, surprising them as they eyed at Reynard, with obvious distrust showing through their eyes.
Warit walked closer to me, asking me in a silent whisper, “What are you doing, Allister?”
Ignoring his question I said, “Reynard is our guest and as one he is also in need of medical treatment.” Looking around, I pointed at two of my warriors, saying, “You two, take him to the healer, I will come there soon.”
The two warriors reluctantly stepped forwards, taking Reynard each by his arms, taking him to the healer as I instructed.
I walked outside the Grand Hall, followed closely by Warit and Rhea who was rushing after us, trying to keep up.
Entering my office, Rhea followed inside as Warit was last to walk inside, closing the door of my office, he turned to me as I was near my desk, searching for the map inside my drawers, he pointed a finger at me, saying, “Did you lose your mind?! Are you serious about helping him?”
I raised my head from my desk, looking at him for a moment before I spoke up, “If you were not my cousin, I would have killed you for using this tone and words with me.”
He took a step closer, saying, “Oh, boo-hoo! Yes, so what?” I silently looked at him, surprised to see and hear such behavior and words to come from Warit.
He ran his hand through his hair, tugging at it slightly while Rhea moved closer to him, taking his free hand and placing it in hers, trying to calm him down.
He took a deep breath before he continued to speak, “Allister, don’t tell me you trust that guy?”
Finally, finding what I needed, I straightened up, placing the map on my desk as I looked at Warit, answering him, “I am not a fool, Warit. Of course, I do not trust him, but neither should he trust me.”
The confusion was clearly written on both of Rhea and Warit’s faces, making me smirk at them, saying, “Let’s put it this way… He thinks I will help him but actually, I will use him.”
Their eyes grew in realization as they both said, “Oh.”
They walked closer to me as I was looking down at the map, when Rhea asked, “So in what way do you plan to use him?”
I looked at her and said, “His brother obviously resents him so bad that he was ready to kill him. Since Alex has my mate, we will go to where he is and lure him out using Reynard.”
“So why don't you trust him?” Warit asked me.
“He claims his goal is to get what is rightfully his, only problem with that is, that one thing he believes he has a right to is never going to be his because I would kill him myself first before letting him fulfill his plan,” I said simply.
“What do you mean?” Rhea asked me, feeling intrigued by my words, making me look at her as she continued to ask, “If his goal is not just to bring down his own brother, then what else is there?”
Standing straight up, I answered, “My mate.”
A few moments later, we all went to the healer’s chambers, or to some known as medical section, finding Reynard laying there in bed, wrapped up in bandages.
The healer bowed his head the moment he saw me, saying, “My Lord, welcome.”
Nodding my head as a greeting, I said, “How is the patient, Mihai?”
“He will live, my Lord,” Mihai answered, making me nod my head.
“Good. Mihai, if you are finished with treating him, could you give us some privacy?” I asked politely as the kind doctor replied, “Of course my Lord.”
Soon after the doctor, Mihai was gone, I walked closer to Reynard, who had a nervous look in his eyes.
O yes, I knew exactly why he was nervous, but I was not going to let him know.
“So what is our plan? When do we leave?” he asked me.
I crossed my arms over my chest, looking at him intently, saying, “We have to do a few things first before anything else.”
His eyebrows raised up, not expecting such words from me, saying, “W-what things?”
“Soon as you heal, you will reveal to us everything about Alpha Alexander and Draconis pack,” I said slowly.
Surprised, he slowly nodded his head, asking, “Is that all?”
I could feel how nervous he was, which made me smirk at him, saying, “No. You will point to us the exact location of the pack and how far its territory goes. Anything that is useful, you are to reveal to us.”
“Y-yes, of course.” He said slowly, eying me with wonder.
I looked at him silently for a moment longer before I said, “Good. I’ll see you later.”
Turning my back to him, Warit opened the door as Rhea walked outside, followed by Warit.
Reaching the door as I was about to walk outside, Reynard called for my attention, “Dark King?”
Turning my head to look at him, silently I waited for him to continue, “What do you plan with all this information?”
Smirking at him, I simply said, “You will see when the time comes.”
Turning my back to him as I slowly walked outside the room, closing the door behind him.
Warit looked at me and asked, “Did you get everything?”
I gave him a smirk, saying, “Are you doubting my capabilities, cousin?”
He laughed as he patted my back, shaking his head, saying, “Never.”
Slowly we walked all away and went back to my office.
