100. Claire is Missing 2.
[Luke]
I couldn't say anything in front of Claire because I didn't want her to worry, Liam had called to inform me that he had news about the break-in and Crystal, immediately he mentioned her name, I knew that bitch was up to no good again and I needed to head over to the palace immediately to sort everything out.
Besides I hadn't been to the hospital to see my father after I got back from America.
Outside Claire's house, I spoke with the men watching her and ordered them to keep a keen eye on her till I got back to pick her up.
I left them and entered my car after giving them instructions.
I took a deep breath, brought my phone out of my pocket, and placed a call to Crystal. I told her not to dare to touch Claire but she'd gone as far as sending an assassin to her home.
"Baby boo." Her annoying voice came through as she answered the phone immediately.
"You hateful bitch." I let out angrily, I'm fact I had no idea why she was doing all of this, she'd asked for money and even though we weren't going to give her, she didn't know that yet.
"Wow, Luke, I did not think you had it in you." She said and my scowl deepened.
"Don't think I don't know what you did last night, I warned you, Crystal, I warned you not to mess with me and Claire but you did and now you will face the consequences." I threatened and rudely hung up the phone.
Talking with her, listening to her voice was making my blood boil.
I drove off to the palace the moment I ended the call.
"Your royal highness." The staff rushed to me as I entered the palace.
They took off my jacket and my assistant rushed to me and began to discuss my schedule for the day.
I wasn't listening to a single word he said, I was really worried that Crystal would do something to Claire, she was not someone to be underestimated, she was a vile human being and who knew what exactly she was capable of and what she stood to gain from all of this.
"Send for Liam and Sir Thomas." I cut him off as we were about to reach the King's office which was temporarily mine.
"Alright, Sir." He said, turned away, and then turned back almost immediately. "Sir, what about the events, they already called to ask about your attendance."
"What event?" I frowned.
"The commemoration of the new institute for the study and treatments of cancer in children." He said and I sighed.
That was a very important event and I didn't know how I would be able to waive it.
"I can't attend, find someone else to go in my place." I finally said.
"B-but Sir, It—"
"Didn't you hear what I said?" I scowled at him and he left my sight immediately.
After a few minutes, Liam and Sir Thomas entered the office together.
"What did you find out?" I asked immediately they entered, I had been waiting, impatiently pacing back and forth across the room.
"The situation is much worse than we thought." He said and looked towards the door and I watched as my hacker walked through the door.
"When did you get to Denmark?" I asked him.
"Your royal highness." He curtsied, I wanted to yell at him that this wasn't the time for that but the words were lost in my throat.
"He rushed here when he found something out about Crystal, she's been working with Sir Gregor all this while," Liam said and I frowned.
"Sir Gregor?" That name did not ring a bell.
"Doesn't sound familiar, does it?" It was Erik, my detective, and hacker that spoke now.
"No." I frowned and looked at Sir Thomas, he had been oddly quiet.
"Why don't I know this person?" I asked him.
"Because he was supposed to be dead." He answered coldly.
"Explain, I need details here."
"Sir Gregor used to be good friends with your father and I, he became obsessed with your mother when he met her to the point where he almost killed you when you were born." Sir Thomas explained.
"What does he want now?" I asked annoyed, just how many secrets were buried in the four walls of the palace.
"After the incident, he was banished from Denmark for his crimes against the royal family, he was sent away by water and the ship conveying him capsized halfway through the journey, it was reported that no one survived." He continued.
"But he survived." Erik continued from where Sir Thomas stopped. "His face was scarred and he's barely recognizable but his DNA still is. I ran a DNA match when I couldn't find anything on him and that was when I stumbled upon his file in the palace archives. It was hidden but I cracked the code and learned about him."
"So he's going after Claire for revenge?" I asked, suddenly feeling dizzy.
"Yes, our guess is he doesn't want the child to be born," Liam said and I dropped to the chair behind me.
I hurriedly picked up my phone and placed a call to Claire, I was so restless and terrified after learning about the psychopath enemy the palace had.
When her voice came through the phone, I sighed out of relief and relaxed, I tried not to show my nervousness but I told her to stay put and wait till I came to pick her up.
As I hung up the phone, I regretted not bringing her with me when I was coming over.
"What are we going to do?" I asked, looking up at me and they looked back at me.
"This is going to be a huge scandal." Sir Thomas sighed.
"I don't care about that," I replied immediately, the lives of my child and my woman were on the line here, I could care less about what the public thought at this point.
"We're going to inform the proper authorities, they're the ones that can handle it from here," Liam said.
"And I'll be helping them of course," Erik added.

My heart began to thump loudly as I stepped on the gas.
"Try calling her again," I yelled at Liam who was hanging on for dear life.
"You should have let me drive, you're going to get us killed." He retorted before dialing her number again.
My heart fell as the call once again went to voicemail, I was already imagining all sorts of scenarios and they were all dark.
I rushed out of the car even before it stopped completely and I dashed for Claire's house while Liam stayed back to talk to the men I'd posted to watch her house precisely to avoid something like this.
I had a bad feeling.
I had to break the door down because it was locked and no one was answering, I rushed in yelling at the top of my voice.
"Claire, Claire, where are you?"
I checked the rooms and there was no sight of her, her things had been packed but there was no sight of a suitcase or anything like that.
I caught sight of the half-opened back door and I rushed to check immediately.
I died inside immediately I opened the door and found her suitcases spread on the sidewalk.
She had tried to leave the house even after I warned her.
I rushed back out after scouting around when I couldn't find her.
"She's gone, they've taken her." I grabbed onto Liam's collar and cried. "I promised that I was going to protect her and our child at all cost."
"Calm down Luke, we'll find her, I promise." He said.
"What if it's too late, what if I lose her, Liam, I can't survive if something happens to her or my child."
"Don't speak like that man, we'll get right on it, Erik will track her and we'll find her straight away." He assured me as he pulled me to stand on my feet.
My phone rang inside my pocket and I picked it up immediately.
"Luke, it's Sophie, Claire's been taken, she's in a white truck, I'm currently chasing them, am on the bridge road." She spoke fast but I was able to get what she said.
"Okay, we're on our way." Liam heard and rushed to the car immediately.
"Let me drive." I frowned at him when he entered the driver's seat.
"Hell no." He shook his head and started the car as I quickly rushed to the other side.
A text came in, it was Sophie sending her exact location, I forwarded the text to the guards and Erik so that we could have eyes everywhere.
Liam made a call to get the bridge closed off and traffic diverted from our path so that we could get to the bridge on time.
Liam drove very fast and soon we arrived on the same bridge.
"There, there they are." I pointed to a white van up ahead.
The bridge was closing and the white van sped towards it, there was a black car in its pursuit and I guessed that was Sophie.
She tried to get the van to stop but the van pushed her off the road and we watched in horror as her car flipped and drove off the bridge.
